    I always have thought this to be the most beautiful version of this piece. Prefer it to the more recorded Darvas version and the Liszt/Reuss version. Was the Frankenstein version prepared by Humphrey Searle ever recorded?

      Did Searle revise the orchestration? No need for it....

      @@ruramikael the score existed as orchestration on top of the original piano solo. The original solo score had been lost. So the only reference Searle had was the Grosses Konzertsolo version, which is structurally different. So he adapted the orchestration to fit the piano score he had. Of course, the original Grand Solo de Concert piano score was eventually found and the original piano and orchestra version was restored and recorded by Howard sometime in the 90s. But I was always interested in how Searle adapted the orchestration for the latter version of the piece. Sadly, I’ve never seen the score he prepared. Only heard about it from Leslie Howard.
