I recently discovered a way to keep your cauldrons from auto filling with water in a completely submerged environment so you can keep things like potions or even lava inside of it instead of it being ruined by water physics, allowing your potion brewing room, your entire base, and even your lava powered trash can safe in a water filled base on console edition (I don't know if this works on pc, but if it does it will be very useful). apparantly brewing stands happen to be one of the blocks that can act as a means to keep an active air pocket (Another one happens to be candles if you want to be weird like that, which can be used to create a floating air pocket. Trap doors work too, but I have a more interesting use for those) which when a submerged cauldron has an active air pocket dirrectly above it it will no longer auto fill with water and can instead be filled with whatever else you desire (like potions if you want to be weird and not keep them in said bottles at the time, or make it more risky for raiders who want to steal your brews and also hook it up to some sort of redstone contraption if they try to loot the wrong one). Beds are probably going to be annoying however on console edition as those require both the bed to be high and dry itself as well as said spawn point to not only have no obstructions but to be in an air pocket, so sadly no fully submerged bed any time soon (if I recall, pc can use beds underwater just fine, I could be wrong on this), so atm I'm working on a minimalistic settup at this time for a bedroom in a submerged setting. as for the rest of said base, it's up to you, but if you are going to be using said base as a sort of trap base, it might be a bit difficult to build said redstone contraptions when wet......
On a side note, you could probably turn soul sand water elevators into a fish crush trap, just like uh, pretend it's just a corner spot to get fresh air (before flipping a lever that activates a sticky piston with a water logged stair case that is next to a full water block source which creates another full waterblock source allowing it to convert from water source to bubble collum forcing said player into the trap, which of course you cannot swim down in an up collum, and vice versa)
