Honestly, I’m all for having more sculk around. Without the horrors of the Warden, I think the Skulk could be a pretty cool little organism… plant… thing. It feels like it’s living in a way, in a bit of a better way than mobs do. All the spawn skulk needs now is all of it’s different sensors and organelles to make it look less naked.

Not even a continent let alone an island. It's just a small portion of a larger piece of land.
Halfway through the video, and I've got a couple criticisms for the methods:
The catalysts don't just expand across the surface, but also down into the blocks beneath. If you'd farmed the sculk and set up a grid pattern, *then* set up the catalyst under a mob grinder, that probably coulda spread it MUCH faster. Think of it like setting up redstone lines and repeaters sorta. It'd carry the "signal" or the xp from each mob death further out without having to spread their on it's own. Another comparison is like growing vines on a trellis in a garden, I suppose. You set the grid up, the sculk uses that sculk grid to grow. Idk how well that'd to though, I might have to try it in a creative world.
what do you mean by a grid pattern? like horizontally a 3x3 catalyst grid or do you mean catalysts underneath as well?

The easiest way to get sculk everywhere in a new world is to take the biome filter off the sculk patch feature. That keeps the underlying biomes (instead of Deep Dark) so mobs still spawn and can be converted into sculk using the hundreds of catalysts that generate with the world. Requires a mod, of course.

I am also a fellow sculk enjoyer, I find the look to be interesting, the look can be hypnotic, and is actually pretty cool for some sci-fi and fantasy builds! Not to mention the horrors it can entail with the warden and how it spreads!
Too bad wardens can't spawn in the overworld. (Or in day light.) Otherwise the operation could have been much easier as wardens can kill and gather sculk for you.
Especially since it can't see so it can't really be blinded by light

Granite is actually a beautiful block, i personally dont hate many blocks, though i DO dislike andesite as its too hard to see it compared to stone.

If you want the sculk to spread everywhere. Perhaps build an overpowered gold farm in the Nether that pushes tons of zombie pigmen through a portal and then you only have to move around the sculk catalyst and the portal on the overworld side.
