      Don't know about that, the "Ruskies" are getting quite "assertive" again in the region since a few years. And I'm sure the Danes don't want to leave all the chasing to the Swedes, and the latter ones not to the Norwegians... The Cold War isn't over, someone in the Kremlin put that dish again in the microwave oven... Grim Grom Gromyko has been replaced by Lavrov, Andropov by his former colleague Putin, SMERSH by Wagner... History keeps repeating itself over and over, I guess that's because testosteron levels of politicians didn't decreased over the years

      The french airforce had an incident in 2019, I believe, where a civilian passenger accidentally ejected himself from a Rafaele Fighter jet only 30 seconds after departure. With this in mind I made the arrangement with my front seat pilot that I would fly with my seat unarmed. If the shit hit the fan, he would eject us both (he could override my unarmed seat). In the case he got incapacitated I could arm my seat, fly us out over the sea and eject us both. I was told not to attempt a landing on my own, due to the pretty bad forward visibility.

    • @jenstrabolt

      The airforce was not too keen to show any radar/weapons-capabilities, so that's the reason I have blurred it.

    What happens when you need to pee?

    • @jenstrabolt
      @jenstrabolt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Normally the flight time is less than 90 min, so you tend to wait. But the longer missions where the jets are refuelled by air tankers can take much, much longer. I believe the record for a danish F-16 is somewhat north of 10 hours in the cockpit. In that case you need a bag to pee in (inside is some powder that turns to gelly when it comes in contact with liquid.) For women pilots it is a little bit more complicated, but not impossible to relieve yourself during flight.
