As always Bevan , you get all of the great locations to video ; a friend of mine ( Dennis R ) & I went there back in the 80's to film 5367 & 5917 ( from the L.V.R. ) on a run from Sydney to Bathurst & then onto Cowra , What a fantastic long weekend that was!!

Great video Bevan, you had some fantastic locations and a C class as a backup how good is that as well.

I can never figure out why heritage steam locos these days are accompanied by a diesel loco. 3801 always is accompanied as is this D60. Often it's the case in Victoria too. Obviously it's not because of lack of power as the loads they pull are insignificant compared to what they pulled in their heyday.

It is now often the case that either there is nowhere to turn the steam locomotive around where the trip is terminating or, even more commonly no tracks available for the locomotive to run around or not enough time in between all the other commercial traffic running.

@@bwDVD Thank you for your response Bevan. What you say makes sense but 3801 sometimes has the diesel right behind it - albeit not often however.

Hi Aussie Pom, thank you for your reply, I don't doubt what you say regarding 3801 but 19 cars is nothing for a D60. These locos used to pull very long coal trains which would be a far greater load than 19 passenger coaches.
