There was an Irish born teammate of mine and co-founder of the Rugby club I played for, for 25 years. Fred would do a wonderful recital of McCall's poem at various functions of the San Francisco Rugby Club. I loved all of them, but I came across this one and it made me pause and reflect. I'm 71 now with aches and pain, but I never wonder; Why I played the game. A lovely version, thanks from a Yank🏉 Yakky Da🍻
