Based on how Probst talks about MGM and some other past quitters, I think Probst just defines the term "quitter" differently than the audience at large. For him, I think the term only applies to those who leave without an obvious, easily justifiable reason in Probst's eyes. He sees it as a negative, a slap in the face to whomever it's applied to, so if someone has to leave for a sympathetic of "justified" reason in the eyes of Probst, he doesn't want to tar them with that designation. Bi from David vs. Goliath, Lindsey from Cagayan, and Matthew from this season are all the ones that are "justified" in Probst's mind, compared to, say, Colton on Blood vs. Water, who quit because it was hard. Thus, he separates them. Obviously there are exceptions to this rule, such as Osten from Pearl Islands (whom Probst lambastes despite Osten actually having some major health issues out there, from what I've read), and Julie from San Juan del Sur (whom I would argue is not justified, but whom Probst gives a pass because they "knew it was coming", I guess? Probst's system is not an exact science, is what I'm saying.) The issue is that there's not a good, snappy term for "justified quit" versus "regular quit", so they end up falling into this kind of grey area. Personally, I 100% agree that they should be classed as quitters, since they did have a choice, though in cases like MGM's, I don't hold it against them as a player, given the circumstances. I guess the point I'm trying to make with this ramble is that, to me, there's nuance in the term "quitter" that I think Probst doesn't see.
One more secret from the podcast I’m surprised you forgot: 41 and 42 had similar tribal councils but 43 and 44 had very different sets. Why? The designers who work on tribal council figured out a way to create 44’s tribal council set under 43’s and basically have 90% of it completed before they even began to set it up. Plus 2 extra days in between filming for the seasons allowed for them to create a tribal council far more elaborate than anything else we’ve seen in the new era
Watching Survivor there used to be a lot of times I was genuinely worried about the players. Not just challenges but living conditions. I don't mind safer challenges, since some old challenges seemed to almost be designed to cause injuries, but watching the players deal with the conditions was one of the better parts of the human experience of this show.
what jeff says about why it's harder to get different locations now than before actually makes sense. I don't think those reasons are forcing them to ONLY go to fiji, but it does make sense that they'd be more restricted than before. I wonder if they've ever tried to do survivor on mainland north america, or would consider it. surely there's some places in america they could do it, and while yes, the american dollar doesn't go as far in the US as it might in other countries, they'd have less travel and insurance costs and probably a bunch of other advantages.
I think northern Canada or Alaska would be apart interesting. Especially in the summer when there is little to no nighttime. I think that would add a unique challenge for the players, plus learning from the indigenous cultures of the area would be really cool.
So Jeff admits that his memory is terrible. There you go. That explains why he denies the existence of the 'winner's edit', thinks that the modern Survivor is harder than past seasons and said that 41 was the first season where they didn't give them food. He forgot.

I just mention that because ADHD-PI is my diagnosis lol.) does have a lot of overlapping symptoms with autism, so that might be why some people equate them.
as someone who has both, that's definitely not true, maybe what you misunderstood is that it's common for people to have both, and if you have one it's more likely you'll have the other than someone who doesn't have one to start with. they think there's a genetic link, in that if you have autism you're likely to have a relative with adhd as well as likely to have a relative with adhd. there's also a symptom/effects overlap, which can cause issues with diagnosis, especially in pre-teens. they're definitely not on the same spectrum though!
My problem with the “new era” is not all of the advantages or that its 26 day my problem is the lack of personality that each season has i mean there like carbon copies of each other generic marooning challenge and the loosing tribes have to do savy or sweat. And during the pre merge some of the players get to go to the summit. When they are at the final 12 or 13 they have there earn the merge and at the final 10 the split up into 2 groups and have a double elimination and at final 5 they go to a different beach final 4 they have fire-making and then at final tribal they have an open fourem final tribal which is arguably the most boring way to do that i get that it is supposed to be more productive an fair but me as a viewer doesn’t care if it is productive at all i want bitter jury speeches like Corines from Gabon and winner always wins 7-1-0 there are no themes for each season its just numbers 41 42 43 44 i mean the themes dont have to be very good themes like 43 can be octopus island or something doesn’t have to be very good all of the challenges are almost carbon coppies of each other you go through a bunch of obstacles and solve a puzzle at the end of it or an endurance challenge usually with a cringeworthy inspirational sob story about how you dig deep and never give up get some more diverse challenges like the gross food eating challenge or the loved ones visit or other ones and create some new ones as well they dont all have to be successful just as long as it interesting to look at and the advantages are the same as well steal a vote beware advantage and knowledge is power (props to 44 for doing something different with the bird cage) survivor needs to experament with new ones. And all of the tribal councils are boring because it is just a bunch of boring and generic survivor analgies we need some good drama happening during tribal but that wont happen because they are way to koombaya all season long because they dont cast any villains to create drama. Well that is my survivor rant and i do hope for 45 that they start experimenting again and start giving their seasons some more perosnality and not just be safe and politically correct and again not all of these ideas have to work i would much rather have a season fail and be bad than just be mid
