- Episode 10: Fantastic results at this weeks car boot visit along with some pawn shop wins. The weekly visit to CEX resulted in a great unexpected return that helps the TFGC both with case return and voucher balances. And a conversation with my local CEX staff could have revealed possible changes to the way CEX accept and price 'retro' games W/WO manuals.

You may enjoy the 2024 'PS2 PURGE SERIES', as we look as games in our existing PS2 collection through quick reviews of the games in each episodes. If they turn out to be more than just fodder they survive, otherwise they will be purged from the PS2 collection.

The ‘Gentleman of Games Way’ to build a free collection:
Step 1: Hunt down games anywhere you can find them, remember to check them to make sure they are all in good condition.
Step 2: Where possible use the CEX App to ensure you get more cash than what you are about to pay, otherwise use your skills and gaming knowledge to find the bargains.
Step 3: Use the CEX App to find out what cash value our High street overloads will give you for all your recently hunted games in total. Make sure CEX will give you more (or at least) the same cash that you spent on your newly found games before you get to the store.
Step 4: Remember to set aside the games you want to keep and enjoy for your own free games collection. Ensuring that the cash return of the other games going to CEX will cover what you spent on the games you are keeping, and that's the key to making the collection FREE.
Step 5: Walk into your local CEX, be kind and polite, and exchange your games for cash. If your bundle is worth more cash than what you spent you decide if you want; more cash for future hunts, or a voucher to buy any specific games you want in your collection.
Step 6: Rinse and repeat forever and ever to build and enjoy a gaming collection to keep you and your loved ones constantly entertained and enjoying gaming for the rest of your days.

Definitely think that if you’re paying top dollar for an expensive retro game, you should also get the manual with it, unless they were to offer a MAJOR discount on it.

Agree mate, sounds like they are not selling the higher end at the old roulette price is what I got from the conversation, 🤞 we either get just manual price on expensive retro or heavy discount on those without for the players 🤘
I think they just need to price the without manual games more competitively to entice people to buy them. If they were cheap enough I think they would still sell.

Badge is the best thing from the week in my opinion 😅 agree mate, cannot charge so much and it looks like the consumer is speaking if they are not selling hopefully that's what we can expect 🤘
I agree I think £10 difference between with or without manual on a £100 game is not enough. I think if it was more like £20-£30 people would consider it
I liked the look of Cold Winter and luckily my local cex had it 😊 That's a few hours sorted this weekend. They sell it for £2.50 if anyone else wants to pick it up.

Great haul there mate some good games in it and what a W for the dvd player, the games CEX won't buy you could pop on vinted maybe just put in detail about the scratches aslong as they work you should be fine, maybe post your vinted name on one of your videos too might get some yt subscribers buying from you.
That resident evil badge huge W getting that for a quid.
I asked my local CEX about the manual thing and they said they've not heard anything yet but wouldn't be surprised if it does come in as the high tier retro games without manuals struggle to sell.

I’d keep those steel books, I love a good steel book. The police badge is an awesome pick up. I’m pretty sure it’s out of the RE3 remake, pin badge collection.

Very interesting on the ps2 front, im definitely gonna have to up my ps2 buying game, im scared for when they decide to do it with everything else thay has manuals 😅. You got some great pickups again this week from the carboot great stuff 👍, hoping to get to a carboot myself this week or next week weather permitting of course. Great video as always dude 🤟😊

Cold winter is brilliant! You can complete it in about 2 or 3 long sittings (as I did so a few months ago😂) 👍 and funnily enough, the main character voice actor sounds so very much like Daniel Craig 😮 but it couldn't have been intentional as casino royale was 05 and so was cold winter I think and of course it would have been recorded at least a year prior to release right? But yeah. Solid shooter. Watching body parts fly off so easily is very entertaining😅 I went to so many bootsales last year and don't think I saw 1 portable DVD player in good condition 😢 from Russia with love is a fun game too. I started it, not finished yet but again, a few sittings and your golden to finish it :)
Clldwinter did look great when I seen it on the tip 100 videos, I was trying to be strict with my list this year maybe i was a bit harsh on it. Yes I heard James bond but hardcore, I'm going to give it a go soon. If you find one mate worth a go just make sure has a plug, I see them in big boxes of electronics often 😁 thanks for watching/commenting mate 🤘
I recently sold a shadow fall steelbook on eBay for £5 really fast so you may get a few quid more if you don’t mind waiting. Not amazing money but definitely better than 10p 😂

That call of duty vanguard could be that theres a xbox one version and an xbox series x version and maybe you saw the price for the one you dont have?

So changes coming to CEX it seems. Might be time to grab a couple of titles before they go up in value a bit (not that there's many for me recently but still).

Great week there ben buddy 😃👍 i wonder with vangaurd have they got too many in stock and that's why the trade in and cash price changed? I would still buy a high end game from cex without a manual, mainly as because i would of traded in other stuff for it, with the prices of some games with a manual there is no way id pay it 😂
Yeah mate that's a good point could be the case they have done it on other things. If they were discounted enough I would ignore the booklet, but as atm the without manual is so expensive feel like the extra £10 odd might as well be paid, cheers for watching mate...BTW he-man on Netflix, decent 👍
Steelbooks should sell better irl instead of at cex. Cex pays the same for normal and steelbook games

Vanguard was likely because they scanned the Xbox Series version not the Xbox One version, they are 2 different products on the website, and yes, they for some reason did indeed print 2 different versions of the exact same game, only difference is one of them is Xbox One only, baffling!
Ahhh why didnt I think that would be the case, I still have it and giving it a play through it's quite good actually. I might keep it on vinted and trade in for voucher when I'm finished but make sure they do it for xbox one and not series x 🤘 thanks for watching

I have never had any retro taken as mint, no matter how pristine they are 😂
