    Whoever this helps, I got the lofree and hated every second of it. Sounds and aesthetics are pretty but I work for a living.
    No matter how much I practiced with the keyboard I couldn't get over 90% accuracy with my typing and no where near 80 words per minute.
    I returned it out of frustration alone.
    Alternatively other keyboards were great.
    I wish people would review typability beyond just sound.
    My personal experience

    I love the look of the Flow, but the lack of customization kind of kills it. I still love the design a lot and want one though at some point.

    I have been thiking which keyboard I should go and decided to go for lowfree flow. By comparing typing sounds, I prefer the lowfree much more than nuphy air75. Thank you for making this video it helps me a lots!

      And now with NuPhy Air75 V2 - they likely jump ito the lead. Easier to get and cheaper and lots of custom options.

    It's probably a good idea to mention NuDelta when talking abt NuPhy Air keybords. It's not comprehensive but gives you basic key mapping functionality which is really nice for mac shortcuts!

    Two quick updates! The Lofree flow is now for sale on Lofree's site and no longer on Indiegogo (affiliate link: semiprotech.link/lofree ) and the price has also increased to $159. Also, NuPhy has released the Air75 V2 which adds a bunch of upgrades including QMK/VIA, bigger battery, and lower latency on wireless connections (affiliate link: semiprotech.link/air75v2 ). I've made an updated comparison video with the Lofree Flow: th-cam.com/video/MIVPhLbLWEs/w-d-xo.html

    I own both of these and construction of the Lofree Flow is way better than the Nuphy. I would hands down pick the Lofree over the Nuphy. The Lofree is a bit more expensive but feels a lot more solid than the other. And no extra noise from wobbly keys like on the Nuphy.

    uuuuuuuh that spacebar sound of the lofree :O Currently using a logitech MX mechanical mini with linear red and what really grinds my gears is that the keys make a metallic echo or sound after they spring back into position - hard to explain. Thanks for the video man!

    • @semiprotech
      @semiprotech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually know exactly what you mean - I have an MX Mechanical Mini for Mac with the tactile switches and they sound pretty terrible to me. It's strange coming from a company that is generally going for mass-appeal with their products because I don't think you have to be a keyboard enthusiast to tell they sound unpleasant. I really wanted to like it but man, they are rough!

  • @igavinwood
    @igavinwood ปีที่แล้ว

    I've been looking for a low profile, mechanical, wireless keyboard and this vid came in really useful, as I now have a reference to help my buying choice, so thank you for the work done here.
    If I could get the sound of the Lofree with the keycap legends and connectivity of the NuPhy Air 96 (I need the numpad) in a charcoal black, I'd be happy. They both look really well made.
    IMO the missing support for kb layouts outside of the US is a poor design ommission and limits their appeal to bigger markets. I also think that the function row should be set to operate the media settings as the default, rather than having to push the function key to access them. And they they really need better feet for people to angle the kb as required.

  • @g43s
    @g43s ปีที่แล้ว +2

    100% Nuphy bc the Lofree one is always on an angle and that sucks imo.

  • @TechnikFreund
    @TechnikFreund 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hey, thanks for your amazing videos surrounding this topic! I heard some weird things about the Lofree's function row. Some say they work as function keys and if you want to use them for volume/brightness etc. you have to hold fn, others claim the opposite. Can you tell me how it behaves when using a Mac?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @Shirley36
      @Shirley36 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Late reply but I just got my Lofree flow yesterday and can confirm that's how my fn row works too. Don't have a Mac though so won't be able to advise for that unfortunately

    • @TechnikFreund
      @TechnikFreund 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Shirley36 I could've replied to myself bc i got one too in the meantime 😂 Out of the box my function row worked as expected when using a Mac. However, I was scared to change any settings and holding fn + a function button does the same thing as when I'm not pressing it. So I'm still a bit confused.

      I don’t know about the Lofree, but you can technically use non low profile key caps with the nuphy, you’ll just have less travel distance so that’s worth considering.

    In your opinion what keys (linear or tactile) will be quieter for an office environment?

    • @혀기-p8m
      @혀기-p8m 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      linear is more quieter than tactile. But even though linear keys, they are still noisy in office environment. Mechanical keyboards can't be helped.😢 I think the quietest one is the low-noise red switch though.
