    I work for Channellock .. I jet blast all the plier cams and jaws.. There's only 2 of us that do that job so if you go and buy some anywhere in the US or 45 countries worldwide either me or him have made them look pretty after heat treat.. they are the best pliers hands down.. And not saying that just because I am an employee. if you could go to the factory and see the processes that go into every pair and the hands on. Real American people that handle every pair. We take pride in what we do.. And they are 100% US made .. Even the rivets and the plastisol that they handles are dipped in.. There are some good factory tours here on TH-cam if you wish to see how they are made.

      they should be a hell of a lot cheaper if there is only a few employees making them.... i dont make much money but work hard manuel labor, a hard days labor for only 4 pliers, 100 bucks little much..

Anyone who depends on their tools to bring in a paycheck knows these are reliable tools that will outlast you and be passed on to the next generation. I'm an industrial technician and mostly use Knipex but I'm a huge advocate of Channellock.
    I've used a Channellock for all kinds of work and they feel better in the hands than Klein and Milwaukee tools. And are made of better steel than Husky, Stanley, Southwire, and Icon. Plus, don't cost an arm and a leg.

Man i was living in wrong world. These pliers so well made. they feel good in hands. You can tell they are very high quality. I am very happy with these pliers. I use them at work everyday. Ever since I started using the Knipex Cobra’s I’ve never went back to Channel Locks their so much better they are very expensive but if you can afford them their definitely worth getting but I do agree with you the Channel Locks are a lot more reasonable in price and are still great pliers for people who are on a budget.

    • @greapsoho

      Yeah i think knipex does channellocks and their angled dikes better but most other things channellocks makes i actually prefer and you can buy every plier for like 200 or something. I think every mechanic that's starting off should get an entire channellocks set. They get the job done. then decide if they want to upgrade after they're established.

    I used to always be really tight with my money. Years ago my buddy made me buy Channellock 8" Diagonal cutter, long nose pliers, and a pair of wire cutter/crimpers for use in a business we were starting. I cringed at spending the money. Later we were in ANOTHER business together and I had lost the key for the chain that locked my ladder on my roof. He takes my 8" diagonal cutters and starts to cut the chain! I was like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?". He cut through it and they were fine. I couldn't believe it. Fast forward to today... 25 years later! I still have all three of those tools and still use all 3 on a regular basis. In the past few years I've been building my collection of Channellock tools at garage and estate sales. Anytime I see them I buy them. I'm really digging the old style slip joint pliers with the lower profile jaws and the arrow pattern on the handles.

    Mdlee, great video. I've worked in an industrial enviroment all my life. Used many thousands of tools, and found out that a lot of tools hold up just as well as Snap-on and if they break, and ALL brands do, they are so much easier to replace. The Snap-on man just can't be bothered to come and replace our few broken tools. I'm good with Channellocks, the American made Craftsman, Knipex etc. I could care less about prestige, I can do the same as the next guy with what I have.

    How's it going mdlee! I'm a Knipex fan personally, I never would have known however was giving a set years ago. They became my go to in the industrial field. No slip no moving out of position during handling. Works for me 👍 just wanted to share my experience, I'm sure channel lock is right up there with them. hope all is well bud. Great job

    just like metal wears and tears so does the user operating the tool... i like channel locks for what they are i own quite a few but knipex is where its at you dont have to squeeze the handles for a tight grip like you do for the channel locks. if it something really tough to break i use my knipex if i only need a little pressure i use channel locks. i figure i might as well wear um out b4 i replace everything with knipex.

    Channelllock are the working man's pliers for people that actually get out and work..........I was recently given a pair a 410 Channellocks which appear to be from the 1930s (compared them to online pics)......I think someone used them once and then put em in a drawer, they were in about pristine condition other than a light patina from sitting around so long.

    I have my grandpa's Channellock 337 diagonal pliers from the early 70s. No grips just metal. Still cut like butter. Channellock have their USA made screwdrivers that are pretty good. Use the 6 in 1 USA made at work in HVAC and prefer it to the Klein USA Assembled. $8 on Amazon

    Kinpex Rule the world but I do have channel locks and back when I was a plumber or what people say a hammer and chisel mechanic I picked up channel locks but they work great in the mud gravel and when the guy breaks the pipe when you’re not looking raw sewage they do work even in that but they tend to get a little bit rusty with all the acid in the sewage

    How much do you think do you have Invested in Channel lock pliers

  • @cashmancustoms728
    @cashmancustoms728 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have to say when it comes to why I use snap-on and similar brands when choosing tooling for automotive use is in my case it's my daily job, I want to buy quality tools, one time, and I know I'll never have to purchase the same tool again once I come off the truck with it. they're also engineered to excel in performance for the automotive technician so they lend themselves to the type of work I'm constantly indulging from the jump.
    That said Channellock is a great company with very high standard for quality. Still, my own preference for pliers in an automotive capacity is Knipex brand. Channellock was a brand I utilized heavily when I worked rebuilding bathrooms & doing constructive plumbing of various types. Great point to be made though, and a good brand to place it on, but I think all tools have strengths and weaknesses by design, even within their own specific categories, (i.e. pliers, water pump pliers, etc.).

    for the water pump pliers the real sell for me personal on spending the extra for Knipex cobras is the lack of handle bite on them, every other type of pliers i have used i seem to find a way to pinch the meat of my hand at the base of my fingers when i use them for larger tasks
