- Ultraman is finally back! Much like Ultraman Tiga was followed up with the direct sequel series Ultraman Dyna, Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga is receiving its own sequel in the form of Ultraman Decker! I just watched the first episode of Ultraman Decker after it premiered this last weekend, and now I'm going to give all of my thoughts on it! It would be interesting if the Spheres are the same one from dyna because they were never really defeated in the show and if it's true it could give a maybe returning shin auska a closure for his story
But he get suck in the black hole.super guts and earth with no ultraman
we could also learn Dyna's origin through Decker. seeing how similar their debut were (a mysterious light saved its human host from being eaten by Sphere), they could be exactly the same kind of Ultraman

@@LeinRa-Reaction well.. Dyna's origin has been revealed that he was Kazuma Asuka that transformed into a giant of light and a manifestation of light. So who knows Decker true identity might be someone important to Kanata similiar to how Dyna true identity is Shin Asuka's father.
When you said that you wished for someone to mistakenly think Decker was Trigger, that is actually similar to something that happens in Dyna’s first episode
I think I'm legitimately the only person in the world that legitimately loves the D flasher
I mean it’s good in what it’s trying to do, but for me my only gripe is just the voice, since it has less finesse behind it than previous henshin devices, everything else is fine it’s just the voice being a bit of a let down.
@@cyberdragoon1432 I feel like the less finesse in it kinda fits into Decker as an Ultraman. He's obviously a more hot-blooded fighter than most, very aggresive and into-the-fray as we see in his debut fight. Pretty much like Dyna was, too.

Ok so Dyna aka the OG Decker story is mainly about teen growing up his maturity. Throughout the series the MC of dyna went through a lot of character development from silly rookie into what i call a "true warrior" based on the first 4 episode synopsis, Decker most likely will do the same. And most importantly Dyna is guaranteed to be in Decker because at the end of Dyna, the MC become a multi-dimensional traveler and he appears in a lot of movies and a series

I’m really synced for this show! Kanata is my favorite kind of protagonist, the new GUTS-Select being built up kind of reminds me of GUYS from Mebius, Decker’s design, fighting style and henshin are really cool, and the Spheres really feel like a big threat.
Overall, it looks like a good step up from Trigger, and I’m all for it!
Decker showing up unexplained is part of the story, it's meant to be a mystery to be answered. That also happened with Dyna, who shows up without any explained origins. There was a leak from the past few months that says Decker is from the future. Maybe this would mirror Trigger being from the past. Some theorize that Decker is actually Kanata from the future. Personally, I theorize that his parents actually died during the mars attack, but their souls manifested to an ultra to save their son. This is because in Dyna, Dyna is actually Asuka's father who got transformed to light during the zero drive test (i think thats what it was called) and never came back. This was only said in the novel and never in the series, it's unknown whether it's canon or not. Anyway, this first episode was better than the entirety of Trigger. Kanata is like Kengo but better, more realistic and more likable. This first episode actually makes sense unlike Trigger's where a ceo of a military company gives his friend's son a high grade military gear. I have high hopes for this one.
There has been a theory going around in the japanese side of the fandom that theorized decker is actually a sphere soldier that decided to rebel and use the past data of ultraman dyna and terranoid to try to become an ultraman, it's really interesting
I really hope that the next Ultraman for the 2023 series will be based on Ultraman Gaia. I have ideas for it if anyone's curious.

I hope it's a sequel where the main ultra is the will of the sky. It makes sense because the radical destruction bringer still exists and wasn't defeated. My idea for it is that Gaia and Agul get defeated by an incredibly powerful monster that suddenly appears and vanishes after they were defeated. Gamu and Fujimiya suddenly lose the ability to transform, and the second wave of the radical destruction bringer's attack begins. Since the last monster attacks happened a very long time ago, humanity was unprepared this time. A college student like Gamu and Fujimiya accidentally discovers the will of the sky, and he receives the power to become an ultra. A monster attacks and is defeated by the new ultra. The new ultra detransforms and he is met by Gamu and Fujimiya, who tells him about everything and gives him their powers, which gives the new ultra access to new forms. He gains the strength form by getting Gaia's light, and the psychic and speed form by Agul's light.

The 2023 main Ultraman is based on Ultraman Gaia named Gigas, and his human host is a paleontologist and wants to understand life. There's an extra Ultra who is based on Agul, but it's an Ultrawoman named Andromeda, and her human host is a female Caucasian, a cold and strict type of person who believes that all kaiju must be killed. Both Ultras can harness the power of the Power Kaiju (the gimmick of the 2023 show), which would become armor for the Ultras, kind of like Saint Seiya (though one other idea is for the Ultras to become half ultra and half kaiju when using the Power Kaiju, not like with Arch Belial). There are three types of Power Kaiju: Earth (used by Gigas), Mechanical (used by Andromeda), and Outer Space (used by the agents of the Bringer of Destruction). In the second half of the series both Ultras can harness all three types of Power Kaiju, even changed into different types to suit each one. The toys of the Power Kaiju will be part of the Ultra Monster 500 series. The Bringer of Destruction returns as the main antagonist of the 2023 series, this time with Zog's younger sister. I also want Ultraman X to appear in the 2023 series by dimensional travel. The movie of the 2023 series will happen after the events of the 2023 series, where Gigas teams up with Trigger and Decker.
It was pretty cool. I never really understood the part where Asumi could somehow understand Ultraman decker, but I guess that’s a thing with newer ultra seasons. The host either meets the ultra, like in Z, has their memories, like in trigger, or just randomly understands them, like in this season. Also, I currently have all of the Ultraman Decker stuff in the shopping cart on HLJ. I can’t wait for it to arrive, once I purchase it.
From the looks of it Decker seems to be linking his mind into Kanata's, as he doesn't speak directly unlike Z.
pretty sure the episode implied Decker was talking to Asumi telepathically. The reason he even managed to wake up inside the Sphere was bcos he heard someone's voice. Not to mention his lines like "Decker? Is that your name?"
Pretty sure its implied that Decker has some kind of telepathic connection with Kanata, similiar to how Ultraman like Nexus generally use telephaty to talk to his host or other beings
I like how most of the stuff you said in this video can also be applied to Dyna as well...
The part where you mentioned where you want someone to mistake Decker for Trigger, that already happened with Dyna where a TPC General mistakes Dyna for Tiga in the very first episode. Also fun fact, Tiga first episode takes place on Earth whereas Dyna took place on Mars; whereas Trigger and Decker its the other way round

Nice video. And yeah Tsuois just so neat to stream all these episode officially. And I also like how high the stake is rise in the 1st episode. A bit iffy about the voice. Though funny u said it funny if people momentarily mistake Decker for Trigger. That actually happened to Dyna when he first appear and people briefly wonder if Tiga returned.

I really enjoyed this first episode. It had decent pacing and set up the characters and villains pretty well. I also really liked the new monster design as well as the whole final battle. This is a great start and I’m looking forward to the next episode.
This is just what I thought when decker appeared maybe decker was trapped inside one of the spheres and when kanata got sucked in decker saw this as a chance to escape but hey idk that's what I thought of when I say it for a second time
I heard a theory that the spheres are from the same universe of Tiga/Dyna's that have acumilated Dyna's data and created their own "Ultra" but couldnt control him which lead them to lock him up.
Its just a theory but a cool one tho

The theory was raised because if you rewatch the episode again, you'd hear Dyna's jinggle when the kaiju strike the earth and was obsorbing some kind of energy(?)

As a massive Tiga fan, I agree as Trigger was super disappointing as hell 👍
Well you make some valid points:
1-A protagonist that has to go to a training camp before joining the main force (that's a first).
2-Bad guys guys that kinda already won (haven't seen that since kyuuranger).
3-Even an ultra series that actually focus more in the main character while the ultra takes a back seat (that has happened more or less but this time may be different).
Well is too soon to jump into conclusions just with the first episode, but you may be right and for once we may get a more instrocpective ultra series.

I think Ultraman Decker would be good, if they don’t bring in those cringey smile stuff from Trigger. I get that they want the protagonist’s personality to be that thing specifically to make them feel unique, be the whole ‘Smile Smile’ thing on Trigger really puts me off. I like Trigger and all, but that whole smile act is just a bit 😬. I hope they would took some inspiration from Ultraman Z. That show doesn’t have anything that’s out of touch (except Yoko liking older guys???) and the personality of the protagonist is charming and I was hooked and all of the episodes

Don't have any problems with episode 1. It was good tbh. I had a mountain of complains on Trigger ep 1 but so far Decker seems to live up to its hype. There is one immediate improvement already tho. The guts select members in this new team actually feel like real characters. The old guts select members are just horrible. Yuna and Akito were terrible characters in the show. Yuna is just a convenient character for power up and faster plot progression. Akito's character just kept going down hill since the start. The captain is forgettable. The other two i don't even want to talk about. Not to mention Trigger's story was complete garbage imo. Tried too hard to be parallel to Tiga and failed.
The more we can forget about Trigger the better. Sadly, I can already see Kengo cameo incoming 🤮.

Personally the only part where Trigger are actually enjoyable with a somewhat more comperhensible writing are the few last episode tbh. But at that point the damage has already been done. Episode Z was an improvement, but still it doesn't save the entirety of Trigger.

I definitely recommend checking out Dyna. A lot of things in this episode resemble to the old show.

Personally combat with the Kaijus are what I look forward to. Going over it, it's extremely theatrical meant to sort of wow the viewer. It does that of course, and it's enjoyable. The first sequence of Decker rising up and performing an aerial fight is, *chef's kiss* a certified badass moment. But for him to then dash back to the next sequence kind of kills it? You'd think that he'd perform a sort of drop kick/spin kick on his opponent, but all he does is drop straight back down in order to run at his enemy swatting aside the spheres. I'm not saying that the sprint was bad, but it felt a bit pushed.
I understand that he's a new ultra, inexperienced when fighting so I'll see how it goes down the line. Next scene though, he sort of punches the kaiju in the face, ballsy, but immediately backs away into his signature pose. Understandable. New kaiju, unknown skills being careful is the game. The real issue with this kaiju is that it feels flimsy. Looks that way too. The main body and head is fine. It's the two giant pillars it has for arms. You ever seen kids fight with pool noodles? that's kind of what it looked like.
The smash scene with Decker underneath now though, that's good. Good usage of the pillar, and Decker's retaliation with his attack is excellent as well. The only real issue was that I kind of hoped for that attack to sort of damage the horn instead of the under chin of the enemy. That way it's sequence into the chop and destruction of the horn would have been much better and believable.
OVERALL - Fight was enjoyable and cinematic. The first episode was a banger, and it does show. Dyna was always ready to throw hands even in miracle form, quite surprising considering it's prowess was mostly in speed and psychic abilities. Hope Decker does the same.
I liked the episode, i hope the main character tells his team he is ultra upon joining, i would be different and interesting

You havent seen Dyna? TBH this episode is basically a remake of the first episode of Dyna, which is lame to me. I mean, it was ok as its own thing....but if you know Dyna....it will seem like deja vu
The design for Decker is a hundred times better than Trigger in terms of how respectful it is to the original design while still doing its own thing.
If I show you a picture of Trigger out of context, what's the first thing that comes to your mind? Is it "Huh, this guy looks kinda like Ultraman Tiga" or "That's a neat Ultraman"?
Now apply the same test again but with Decker.
Trigger's design is by no means bad but if it was supposed to be a "new Tiga" then it failed miserably.

Decker design is fine not as great as trigger but it's not bad either, i like the voice he gives so i'll give it that..
I wouldnt say it's a good start for me cuz it's not really anything that gets me interested to watch it... it is not something like trigger where having the three main villians makes me feel like, Oh fuck what's gonna happen next!? Here it's just, Oh the aliens won already? aight... the plot felt like it was rushed but maybe that's just me... On the plus side it cuts to villain immediately winning so there's that to look forward to if you're interested.
The characters are your typical ultraman blank slate of the bunch where you got the MC, the chick, the aggressive and the chief. oh and the yellow robot is just not really interest me... I get what they're going for but this just doesnt sit for me...
I also wouldn't say that other characters telling The protagonist to join the defense team is interesting and all but whatever i guess...
Overall a little disappointing but then again i feel like tsuburaya just copy pasting stuff from ultraman past works and i'm not sure if there's something im looking forward to since Dyna is interesting to me near the end but that's just me... After this we might as well get a gaia copy, probably call it gainax or gamma or something i dunno

Bro, do you hit on your head or something, this series is WAY better tahn trigger, and the protagonist is far interesting and he is more than just "i want to help kind of guy" he can be pushy and put himself in danger, and the fact that he can weild a gun and go out of the barrire even if he almost turn back to he's human form was a badass move for the mc

You don't need to finish Ultraman Trigger. No need to torture yourself. Use that time to watch better Ultraman shows like Tiga, Gaia, Cosmos, The Next (movie), Nexus & Mebius instead.

@@fliprecruiter8366 Cosmos has a solid vision of a more friendly & peaceful Ultraman show with less Kaiju killing. It's not a bad show. It has beautiful story in many episodes. It was just targeted for younger demographic. It was also from early Heisei that didn't have in-your-face merchandising. The overall story also ended really well.
Unlike Trigger that wanted to be both dark & lighthearted. The result was a cringey MC, shallow characters, uneven story, merchandising up the wazoo and an overall mess.
