Mr. Diezelle, you are a blessing to the multitool community. I recently purchased a SOG Powerpint for curiosity and good reviews. I really like it so far. The one disappointment is the can opener which is one of my favorite and most used implements. Thank you for demonstrating the can opener on one of your tomato cans. I tried using it on a few cans and it only partially worked. I was rocking it backwards and forwards and wasn't successful opening a whole can. The profile is nice similar to a Gerber Suspension NXT but the performance is bad. The only other can opener I wasn't fond of is on my Leatherman CS4 combination opener. That was equally as bad or worse. There's a partial factory grind on the SOG Powerpint I think that hinders its performance. I'm thinking of sharping the can opener with a light file. hoping it improves it performance. The Powerpint is a great secondary carry to any larger multitool. I don't think it would be my solo dedicated carry though.
It is also possible to insert a standard T saw blade so that it is held by the terminal clamps that are after the hexagonal head. In this way, a very good grip on the saw blade is achieved and it works perfectly.
The SOG design is better than anyone else's. The problem is, it's made in China. If SOG made a full size version of the power pint in the US, I'd pay Leatherman prices for it. The ability to flick the tool open on handed and the torque is a game changer. I have a surge which I like but the amount of work you have to do to it to make it useable is a farce. I bought a SOG with the silly cover plates back in 2000. I could pull it out of my pocket and just flip it and have the pliers. The surge is a two handed thing. The best multi tool would be a mix of SOG and Leatherman but it'll never happen.
The idea is viable, even without special training. (( I bought several sets of saws and files. Then a full-fledged hexagon shank was formed from polymer ("cold welding"). Everything works fine ! ))
Awesome idea! Sadly, cant be used with the Power Access Assist, since it doesnt have any lock on the other side of the tool (or i didn´t find any) Thanks!!!
That’s great, I was hoping no special plug adapter was needed to make the LM Surge’s accessories work. Shame about the other jigsaw blade may be if the shank had a bit of tape wrapped around it it could be used effectively. Looked like a bit of a struggle using the saw and you did not give a rating? (I was feeling for your keyboard during the demonstration, next video how you clean a dusty keyboard?) I would love to see if you rank the SOG Powerlitre and it’s added suite of accessories, the capacity looks like it does and some of the advantages (bit holder, pliers power grip advantage, compactness, adaptability) ...... but does the quality stack up? I would also love to see if hex drive drill bits would work (in a pinch, bushcraft type situation.....the ability to drill a hole with minimal tools can be very useful). The way I have thought to do this would be to use a hex drive drill bit the the ratchet (for added torque) the stack a bit extender on top, then clamp the multi tool on very top. This would give reasonable stability to the process and allow for some control and downward pressure to be applied. Could obviously be applied to any multi tool with a bit driver, or just ratchet.
Dusty keyboard :))) Yes. I live in a place where I would have to spend my days dusting... So sometimes I get down to it, take the bulk out. The saw blade holds well but it's not easy to cut through a very hard piece of wood on my desk in front of my camera. Back to the PowerLitre. Steel of an unknown nature, difficulty in removing the tools, supplied without any accessories, difficulty in unlocking the tools, the gear system spreading the sleeves too far apart but which increases the force of the pliers and greatly hinders its opening, finishing problem (I shown at the end of the video about non-jointed jaws), deplorable scissors, but this little multi-tool is quite well equipped, its size is very interesting. SOG has it made in China at a lower cost, so don't expect Leatherman or Victorinox quality. A 1/4" hex shank drill bit, I said it before, yes, of course.
@@diezelle57 thanks for the extra detail......I was not criticising the condition of your keyboard or your demonstration, just light hearted comment when watching the saw dust fly and half hoping you were not going to film the metal file performance in the same location ;) I guess SOG quality is my main concern, I am impressed with its adaptability.......with almost the tool set I want (but that is pretty much the same with all multitools), your demonstration has convinced me to give one a go. Thanks again for replying and producing these reviews.......always wondered if the background bird/jungle noises were real or added In post production? Very soothing, cheers

Merci pour la démonstration
I bought a PowerPint after your recommendation of it over the Leatherman Style PS a few months back. I’m loving it so far!
Sadly, cant be used with the Power Access Assist, since it doesnt have any lock on the other side of the tool (or i didn´t find any)
Thanks!!!
Хорошая идея использовать leatherman пилу и напильник и другие инструменты в мультитуле sog 😁👍🤝💪
Where did you get that ratchet? I want one..
Amazon.com 711L ratchet (see on my channel).
It seems you can put that saw blade on any SOG multi tool? Is this a new model? Thanks
The SOG PowerLitre is not a new model. For example, the Surge's saw blade doesn't fit well on the SOG PowerAccess Assist (but which does have a saw).
@@diezelle57 thank you
Other longer t shank blades fits the powerlitre?
That’s great, I was hoping no special plug adapter was needed to make the LM Surge’s accessories work. Shame about the other jigsaw blade may be if the shank had a bit of tape wrapped around it it could be used effectively. Looked like a bit of a struggle using the saw and you did not give a rating? (I was feeling for your keyboard during the demonstration, next video how you clean a dusty keyboard?)
I would love to see if you rank the SOG Powerlitre and it’s added suite of accessories, the capacity looks like it does and some of the advantages (bit holder, pliers power grip advantage, compactness, adaptability) ...... but does the quality stack up?
@@diezelle57 thanks for the extra detail......I was not criticising the condition of your keyboard or your demonstration, just light hearted comment when watching the saw dust fly and half hoping you were not going to film the metal file performance in the same location ;)
I guess SOG quality is my main concern, I am impressed with its adaptability.......with almost the tool set I want (but that is pretty much the same with all multitools), your demonstration has convinced me to give one a go.
Thanks again for replying and producing these reviews.......always wondered if the background bird/jungle noises were real or added In post production? Very soothing, cheers
