What’s frustrating about this interview is that it’s meant to be transparent but she’s not being transparent or owning her truth. Like your experience with what happened is valid and your evolution is valid as well. You can tell how you truly felt back then and explain that you don’t feel that way now and this is how you evolved and healed. A lot of baby moms have experienced negative feelings and they need to hear that they can free themselves of that. She’s almost acting like she didn’t really have negative feelings.

Look Liz, Mashonda IS NOT the not the only who messed up in this situation. They all did. Yes, Mashonda seems to have contradictions in her version of the situations and yes, she should not put all the blame squarely on Alicia but when it is all said and done she was his WIFE and obviously her ex husband should have made sure to let her know that there was some one else before she had to ask because there is no know way in hell that he didn't know Mashonda was still madly in love with him if they were still being sexually intimate despite being legally separated and had not long ago had his baby which why all this madness popped off. Yes, I remember that interview too! He was very defensive and went hard on her. He said something about her trying to go on a reality show to basically talk bad about he and Alicia. It's not about being "grown" or "growth", Mashonda gives Alicia Keys way too much credit for a woman who infiltrated Mashonda's marriage and disrespect it by being party to a new romantic relationship with Swiss. At the end of the day, Alicia did not respect her as a woman and as a wife and that speaks volumes about Alicia's character regardless of how much Alicia "loves" Mashonda's son. I feel u 100%. My ex had a harder time with dating than i did. They were very uncomfortable with our relationship but we were always friends and knew we would continue to do that. We never once reminced(meaning hookups). So i can't u tell how many late night phone calls i got from women he was dating accusing me of sleeping with him. One caused his divorce, but we have grown and never waivered from our blended family. We have since both been married and divorced but all our folks(kids) love each other and we worked at it. U keep doing you, cause it's worth it.
Because it is not historically natural for man and woman to have a child on not remain together until one parent passes away. We have normalized the baby momma/baby daddy lifestyle. I know men that admit that they still occasionally sleep with their child's mother even after breaking up. What’s frustrating about this interview is that it’s meant to be transparent but she’s not being transparent or owning her truth. Like your experience with what happened is valid and your evolution is valid as well. You can tell how you truly felt back then and explain that you don’t feel that way now and this is how you evolved and healed. A lot of baby moms have experienced negative feelings and they need to hear that they can free themselves of that. She’s almost acting like she didn’t really have negative feelings.

Look Liz, Mashonda IS NOT the not the only who messed up in this situation. They all did. Yes, Mashonda seems to have contradictions in her version of the situations and yes, she should not put all the blame squarely on Alicia but when it is all said and done she was his WIFE and obviously her ex husband should have made sure to let her know that there was some one else before she had to ask because there is no know way in hell that he didn't know Mashonda was still madly in love with him if they were still being sexually intimate despite being legally separated and had not long ago had his baby which why all this madness popped off. Not to mention he was wrong for not filing for divorce if he and Alicia were official ! Furthermore his famous wife should have have granted Mashonda's repeated requests to get the truth but Alicia chose to not to stick to her women empowerment convictions she made her singing career off which many assumed wanted women to stick together which caused her image too be severely tainted due to suspected hypocrisy. By her ignoring Mashonda she came across as hiding either because of guilt or dismissive entitlement to a married man whose wife she had previously met and he not too long ago had a baby with.. When R and B singer Fantasia was in the same situation at least she she had the balls to confront the wife of her boyfriend. Grant it she was technically in the wrong because he wasn't divorced but at least she was woman enough to not hide. Not only did she not hide but the husband was right there when she BOLDLY told the wife to get lost because as she said "He don't want you no More!" This is one of the reasons why her image suffered minimal damage..But at the end of the day like Mashonda said Her and her ex husband were very young when they became and item and they or rather he grew apart. . Swizz and Alicia odds would statistically better any due to the age they got together. But at least all 3 were BIG enough people to put all differences aside for their kids peace and Happiness..All 3 of them Swizz, Alicia and Mashonda are beautiful for that alone if nothing else.

It's not about being "grown" or "growth", Mashonda gives Alicia Keys way too much credit for a woman who infiltrated Mashonda's marriage and disrespect it by being party to a new romantic relationship with Swiss. At the end of the day, Alicia did not respect her as a woman and as a wife and that speaks volumes about Alicia's character regardless of how much Alicia "loves" Mashonda's son. She should have loved him enough to not start a relationship with his father and exacerbate the breaking up of their marriage. Teresa Green i think y’all want her to be hurt. No doubt what she went through was devastating but if she’s working through it and working it out and no longer bitter, why try to stress it. Im sorry, I'm not buying it. Her MARRIAGE was ruined due to Alicia. Alicia is now swaying this women to clear her name. Bottomline is I remember 2009. She was in tears had no idea her marriage was a wrap. Now you blended and that makes you mature? No it's all mental manipulation for Alicia and Swizz to do what they want. In a way true. But this is why > Alicia Keys did not break up anything. Do these dumbasses not bother to inform themselves of facts? Swizz had had kids with two other women before they separated and he then got together with Alicia. Mashonda decided on bashing a woman she could get major publicity from just by doing so. Instead of dealing with her crap, her problematic relationship that was wrecked for years, and calling out Swizz then for having had kids with women while they were actually together, she went on tours of rants toward the famous woman that had nothing to do with her messed up relationship predictably ending. She and Swizz were a terrible pairing. He has a kid with another woman years before and she not only stays with him and marries him? She was a side piece in the beginning with him having a baby mama (and she became a step mother) and all her bad decisions caught up with her and she couldn't deal with that, and apparently still can't cause she still isn't honest about all that crap before that actually contributed to their demise. But it doesn't play into her narrative which is only about Alicia and Swizz and blending with them. Like someone mentioned above, it should also raise flags to any thinking person that she doesn't even allude to the other two women with whom Swizz had kids, and those kids are part of the whole family and all hang out. Mashonda is a very shady, sketchy person.
There is nothing wrong with co-parenting. I applaud this. But sis keep it real. In the beginning there is NO WAY you wanted that girl around your baby. I'm not buying it.

It's so wonderful to see this maturity. I don't have a blended family, but that journey requires you to rise, so I'm going to buy the book.
