I’m sorry....but as a veteran when I returned from tour my spouse had an affair and moved out before I got home.....was I destroyed? Yes I was....but he wasn’t happy....neither was I....he made a choice.....not the best time I agree but everyone deserves to be happy....anyway, 13 yrs later we have a great family....we have a 4 almost 5 yr old grandson....we don’t live close but I try to send pics to keep them, keeping them updated and enjoying him the best they can....it took my grandson to truly accept them....the more people he has to love him as well as my children, the better.❤️

My parents divorced 13 years ago. I was only 10. My dad would always bring us breakfast before he picked me up on the weekends and ask my mom if she needed any extra money for the week. Seeing them still be friends (I’m sure they secretly wanted to kill one another) for the sake of us kids changed my outlook on divorce and how it doesn’t have to be the worst thing.

If your spouse cheats on you with a person whom you know, knew you were married; then somewhere down the line decides to say “hey, let’s just forget the past and be a blended family”, I’m not to sure how healthy this idea is for the children. I’m sorry but I’m not buying the warm singing and bright smiles. This is how television manipulates and influences. There is nothing more powerful for a child to see than his or her BIOLOGICAL PARENTS honoring their vows and staying together till death due them part. This whole inspiring blended families idea is not normal and can give kids the wrong idea as to the commitments they are to make to those whom they marry. If I’m not mistaken, the story goes Alicia Keys stepped into Swiss and his ex wife’s marriage and helped tear their family apart. The ex wife was hurt by that for years obviously. Now they are playing this role of happiness, smiles and blended unity. No way am I buying this. If I cheated on my wife and she stayed bitter towards me behind it for years, of course I’m going to want her to eventually just accept what’s happened and move on. I’m the one who cheated. However, that doesn’t take away from how my infidelity effected her. I feel the ex has somehow now given in to Alicia and Swiss’s celebrity and has simply decided to enjoy the ride. But don’t get on national television and attempt to make what’s happened or happening in your family seem normal. The gullible may buy into this but those who are wise can see right through this. We always did and do holidays and birthdays together and I am so thankful for their maturity. It wasn't until I was in my 30s that even knew the initial separation wasn't exactly amicable. Everyone isn't as petty and hateful and childish as is celebrated on television. Lots of families choose the kids over their own emotions!!!!

Is it me or am I the only one seeing this differently. If your spouse cheats on you with a person whom you know, knew you were married; then somewhere down the line decides to say “hey, let’s just forget the past and be a blended family”, I’m not to sure how healthy this idea is for the children. I’m sorry but I’m not buying the warm singing and bright smiles. This is how television manipulates and influences. There is nothing more powerful for a child to see than his or her BIOLOGICAL PARENTS honoring their vows and staying together till death due them part. This whole inspiring blended families idea is not normal and can give kids the wrong idea as to the commitments they are to make to those whom they marry. If I’m not mistaken, the story goes Alicia Keys stepped into Swiss and his ex wife’s marriage and helped tear their family apart. The ex wife was hurt by that for years obviously. Now they are playing this role of happiness, smiles and blended unity. No way am I buying this. If I cheated on my wife and she stayed bitter towards me behind it for years, of course I’m going to want her to eventually just accept what’s happened and move on. I’m the one who cheated. However, that doesn’t take away from how my infidelity effected her. I feel the ex has somehow now given in to Alicia and Swiss’s celebrity and has simply decided to enjoy the ride. But don’t get on national television and attempt to make what’s happened or happening in your family seem normal. The gullible may buy into this but those who are wise can see right through this. I do believe in unique situations husbands, ex and current wives coming together in harmony may work out or fall into place in a good way. But pretending it should be a norm is just not a good idea.

People forget Alicia was also Mashonda's friend before she started sleeping with Swizz. So, let's make it very clear that Alicia KNEW he was married with an infant on the way cuz she attended the baby shower. This whole blended family BS is a carefully constructed PR campaign to restore Alicia's image and reputation. She and Swizz have the power to destroy Mashonda in the press so she plays along for the sake of her child. Imagine being bestie's with the woman who stole the love of your life? Mashonda is still in pain and anyone with EYES can see it. Instead, they wanna pat Alicia and Swizz on the back like they doing Mashonda a favor. Alicia took everything from her. Swizz let his dream home with Mashonda go into foreclosure while she was still living there alone with their child. He didn't keep up the grounds, pool, tennis courts, nothing and she had to move. It was a very sad episode of Love & Hip Hop NY, season 1. So, do I wanna see the pics he and Alicia splash all over IG of their lavish lifestyle after the way Mashonda was treated? Mashonda is keeping the peace for her checks and to co-parent with Swizz. Deep down she could care less about Alicia. It's all for show.

Nobody can break up a marriage except the people who are married. Many of you have been cheated on and it is easier for you to blame another woman for "homewrecking" than it is for you to acknowledge that the home was already wrecked before she showed up. People are not forced to be unhappy. They did something proactive about their situation. How dare you invalidate the genuineness of their love for their family and each other? @@shawncdot5901 untrue. I've grown up with it and I certainly wasn't rich! My parents split when I was 4 and my dad has had 2 wives since and both of them had great relationships with my mom. We always did and do holidays and birthdays together and I am so thankful for their maturity. It wasn't until I was in my 30s that even knew the initial separation wasn't exactly amicable. Everyone isn't as petty and hateful and childish as is celebrated on television. Lots of families choose the kids over their own emotions!!!!

One thing about it, Swizz seems to love him some beautiful, black educated woman. They are impressive at any race or color, but seeing them makes a black woman like me feel even better about myself.
