Uncle Dave Macon and Dorris - Night Train to Memphis (1947)

Roy Acuff introduces Uncle Dave Macon and his son, Dorris on the American Ace Coffee portion of the Grand Ole Opry from December 6, 1947 to perform their unique version of Acuff's own 1942 hit, "Night Train to Memphis". This performance, the only known recording of Macon performing the song, was captured on a rare off-air acetate disc recording.

Robert, I got to meet Roy Acuff about 1995 at the Cracker Barrel across from Opryland. He was in line and I walked up behind him. Very nice, chatted till they seated him.
