I actually think he knows how to drive really well. Shifting is totally a control thing, and he was dialed in on the throttle and clutch if you listen closely
I test drove a 2011 Clubman S, and -almost- bought it on the spot due to how much fun to drive it was. The sales lady was off the wall thrilled that I wanted to test drive the 6 speed manual lol. That particular one I drove, freakin hot lookin. ALL black, rims and everything.
Great video. Great car. I have one. At 3:36 to 3:40 you can hear a chattering sound, almost like a diesel engine sound. If that sound goes away when the clutch pedal is depressed, then the throw-out bearings are shot. Some say all MINIs sound like that, so just drive it, and when the clutch stops working, replace it. In any case, the 06 MCS is the MINI to get; the last production year of the first generation new MINI, it has most of the old bugs worked out, and none of the new ones.
There's a stange rattling in the engine bay, and i can hear it inside the cockpit too... I have one and i can tell you thats not good. Check the belt tensioner and all the exhaust line...
I got my mini a month ago and heard a rattling noise just like that one and every forum I read said it was normal and the valve trains are loud blah blah. Had check engine light come on last week, P1477 so I checked vacuum lines before replacing any pumps. Had a degraded vacuum line under the interooler. Fixed it with a new OEM vacuum line and now that rattling noise is completely gone. Check your vacuum lines lol
Manuals aren't stupid and most of cars in world are 80% are manual and Automatics for people who have disabilities. If you pass in automatic you'd be screwed. That why nearly everyone in UK has a manual licence. Which will enable them to drive both manual and automatic.
Mod MINI heart of the best thing to do it again in my life and the first place for the next few days ago when he is a very long time no talk of the year and the rest of
@userrob880 Not really, it leaves the space in front of the driver cleaner and gives you better visibility. And you have a digital readout of speed under the rev-meter, at least in european versions.
+acengland82 When changing up you shouldn't really use the throttle, unless your driving hard where riding the throttle between gear changes can help reduce engine breaking. When changing down you can softly tap the throttle to give a smoother gear change
Another great video, would be nice to see more test drives in your videos :) Maybe put a camera on a stand in the car facing you while you talk about the car or something...
I like test-drive videos... But not these cars, they're not exactly known for their quality. But heck, I'm gonna thumb this video up because of the work put into it, you're good at adding interesting facts and you handle the camera well.
Why i got rid of the first gen i had 10years ago. It made alot of noise in the cabin. I since than went with a 2020 version f56 and big time improvements across the bord
@saabkyle04 im not sure if it would suit your needs because the microphone is so bad..unless you would take the other camera for the microphone and just overlay the audio they do make some POV cams that have external mic inputs like the drift innovations cameras, i use one of those and the little 20 dollar microphone is very good
What is the approximate weight limit of the trunk (boot for all the Brits) with the seats folded down? This sounds a bit morbid, but I may need to move a 350 pound headstone from Florida to Ohio for a friend. I would normally just ship the "rock", but the wife and I are going up anyway to visit family and friends.
@Tha89Kid Yeah I hear you, when I have my car I like to my cd's but when all I have is the radio it's the same thing again and again, sometimes two different radio stations play the same thing at the same time and it's impossible to find something good to listen to
As a previous owner of one you want to make sure the supercharger fluid has been replaced. These are known to be dry as a bone.. If the gears dry out the grinding begins. Mine was and is a pain to change out. It was a fun little car but things can get costly.
Great job, Kyle. Was thinking about trading "down" to an older, less complicated MINI. This review pretty much confirms my decision. Much appreciated.
I actually think he knows how to drive really well. Shifting is totally a control thing, and he was dialed in on the throttle and clutch if you listen closely
Gotta love the extreme-close-up shifting! Nice Vid.
This is the first car review ever that I was wishing it was an automatic.
when you drive manual with your camera, i feel like you're pulling my head toward the shifter
😂😂
The test drives are back!
Thank you Kyle, you're the best ;)

Love the sound of the Mini 1.6. Just sounds like a much more expensive car than the Mini actually is.

man, this looks like a blast to drive! kinda want one now haha

More likely to be the flywheel noise, which is very common in all R53s.
Nuno Real You don't have to own a Mini to know rattling noises are not normal.

Yes! I saw this awesome car on all city auto's website and hoped that you might review it but test drive it? Sweet! Thanks Kyle!
Manuals aren't stupid and most of cars in world are 80% are manual and Automatics for people who have disabilities. If you pass in automatic you'd be screwed. That why nearly everyone in UK has a manual licence. Which will enable them to drive both manual and automatic.
Gorgeous little car. I want one!
For 7 whole minutes I was thinking, Kyle get in the car and drive it haha.
Mini coopers are available with automatic transmission as well.

nice shifting... also. dude i'd much prefer a tripod use
love the little backfire-ish noises the exhaust makes on this car. wish mine did it.
you should try to play headlines every time you do your reviews man its sick haha
OH WOW! You told the same joke TWO times in a row! Good job! Go on tour people will LOVE you.
Very clean car - but it has the burned out low speed fan resistor problem...
Mod MINI heart of the best thing to do it again in my life and the first place for the next few days ago when he is a very long time no talk of the year and the rest of

Kyle, Kyle ... shift with your left hand when you film. I've been doing that for years. It's easy and keeps a steady shot.
Excellent video. I love this car.
Good vid
Thanks for Happy Thanksgiving :D
1:07 they had kelly clarkson on the radio🕺🕺🕺🙌
Is this a stick shift or manual or both ? cause im a new driver and I would love this car but i don't know how to drive a stick shift
Nice Man! Great Videos!
@userrob880 Not really, it leaves the space in front of the driver cleaner and gives you better visibility. And you have a digital readout of speed under the rev-meter, at least in european versions.
I drive a 2003 cooper its a very nice car, but next year i will buy this one, thanks for the video. :)
Was he riding the throttle when changing gear?
So you do not touch the accelerator at all when changing up or down gears?
+acengland82 When changing up you shouldn't really use the throttle, unless your driving hard where riding the throttle between gear changes can help reduce engine breaking. When changing down you can softly tap the throttle to give a smoother gear change
this is my favourite car in the entire world
You should try a GoPro camera for the driving recording, nice video!
Lots of 'modest' stuff in this car!
I want this car 😭💔
Another great video, would be nice to see more test drives in your videos :) Maybe put a camera on a stand in the car facing you while you talk about the car or something...
super mini cooper

U drive really smoothly
Nice! I love Mini's, they're so cool. I know you've driven a couple, are they fun to drive?
8:12 my old camaro!
Thats your car on the video?
Been a while since you have done a test drive.
please test drive that tuned mini with 240hp you did some days ago...
Hey how is it going, have you had any major problems since you got your mini?
that seems like a pretty safe test drive... :P
Why i got rid of the first gen i had 10years ago. It made alot of noise in the cabin. I since than went with a 2020 version f56 and big time improvements across the bord
Shifting must be fun with a camera in your hand.
@derbigpr500
I think you can change the outside temperature readout under the tach to a speed readout.
We have to understand and accept that it is not easy for Kyle to do test drives
Can you do a test drive of that black ford mustang thanks
@starkidd103 Its Not His car its the dealers he has to drive their cars respectfully... Its a privilege that hes driving there cars not a right!
Kyle do some more test drives.I know u can access chevrolet dealership, if u can do for Cruze 2012 or Malibu 2012.
Thanks..
Getting one for my first car cant wait 😄😄😄
Nice Mini Cooper man

10:01....There wasn't Turbo John Cooper works option in 2006?? WTH !
Time to shine with this wonder full top comment..
more test drives please :)
Thank you. I will consider that :-)
Dudes a Junior operator.
Kyle, can you make a video on how to drive a manual?
he doesnt post these videos to rev the engine he posts them to show us cars and tell us about them.
Shifting + camera work = me not watching!
Leftcoast74 he definitely needs to invest in a GoPro or something.
i hear drake in the background... DEMONITIZED!
@@hgs9880 I think this was in the time before demonization
@greatgood5 when TH-cam was good 😭

@saabkyle04 isnt it illegal to be holding a camera while driving?
Awesome Car Specially With Turbo .
Fuel economy my arse!
Are the back seats comfortable? Especially like in a long drive
@tnhdz there are PLENTY of those on here already.
is that your ford that i saw in the background by the beamers?
@Tha89Kid Yeah I hear you, when I have my car I like to my cd's but when all I have is the radio it's the same thing again and again, sometimes two different radio stations play the same thing at the same time and it's impossible to find something good to listen to

song song at 3:05, I love that song they played it on the radio like a dozen times when I was driving home today.
Might pick up one of these. Thx for then in seat view. Gives me a bit of an ideas what to expect.

Hey kyle this is a little off topic (ill admit) but can you get the mini cooper with 4WD?
Big props to Christal for holding the camera still in the cramped rear seats! Good shifting too Kyle!
gotta love the stick shift!
Forgive me if this is a stupid question. But, does it take any throttle for it to roll forward after putting it in first?
how much is this car?
