Its 2024, I've got an F56 with less than 12k miles.Was someone's 2nd car.Cooper s ,2 litre,I absolutely love it...Come back in 10 years,ill still have it..silver with black roof,mirrors,boot part that i don't know the name of (the bit where you pop the boot/trunk)...the contrast is 😍
Now this is what I call a review- one of the best out there! Great job - very fair and positive - and why not, the new Mini is a great update! Thanks for including the base Cooper in as well - should get a huge proportion of potential buyers with it's price tag and torque.
Brilliant review. This is the only review I have come across which shows every minute detail of the fine points of the car. Fantastic. I have been going through so many Cooper reviews no other review comes close to this. A must see for any Cooper enthusiast. 5 stars all the way
I was reading through the comments and I just wanted to let you know how awesome it is thaat you reply to so many of them! You are such a enthusiastic person and it is fantastic that you have such good people skills as well! Been subscribed for 4 years now and I love your channel! Keep up the great work buddy! :)
My dad just traded in his 2 gen mini cooper s with 96000 miles ( no issues what ever) and just got his new Mini Cooper s today! With the new led's and volcanic orange with the black finish wheels(manual of course). I drove it eagerly today. It's fast nd lots of fun... I'm starting to think that its more fun than my bmw e46:( i want one lol
I like it how you, Kyle, have put both cars in one video to compare them instead of making two videos to get more money. Props to you, quality content as usual!
I really liked how much effort you put in recording the engine and exhaust sound. It's really helpful for people who have a certain taste in car sounds. Thanks :)
Never thought I would have a use for your review, but now I'm looking into a F56, this was the first one to really be helpful. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your reviews.
These are great reviews, Kyle. They are unlike the ones from Autoguide or Kelley Blue Book, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. With your reviews, it feels more in depth and personal. Thanks again and keep it up!
This is the most in depth review I've seen of anything, ever. The amount of work that must have gone into this... Impressive. I've had an R53 and an R56 and now I want a fully loaded one of these!
Blimey! That has to be the most in depth car review ever! Brilliant video, thank you very much for taking the time to make it. Lots of cool tech in the new Mini.
Good review although at times it sounded like you were reading from the spec sheet. I've had four of the new MINIS and when young three original Minis. Just waiting for Cooper S (F56) to arrive mid July. Yes it's grown in size but BMW listened to their customers - unlike some manufacturers & personally I think they've got it spot on with this generation. There's no pleasing everyone but I'm delighted with the update & can't wait to get behind the wheel & drive the nuts off of it !!
Just bought a new 2014 Cooper S a few weeks ago. Got the Volcanic Orange. This vehicle is just awesome and in "Sport Mode", it is over-the-top FUN! Previously, I have owned 4 BMW's and can really tell the Bavarian's input on the 2014 Coopers. There presence is quite welcome. I could never pull the trigger on the older models as I just couldn't get past that bulging center speedo. Not things are correct in the world ...
I really like this Mini Cooper's 3 Cylinder Turbo engine, it's like Fiesta's 1.0l Ecoboost but with bigger power, and about the same mpg. Too bad the cheapest Cooper costs IDR 550.000.000 (about USD 47,000) in Indonesia.. Thanks for the video Kyle, always appreciate them for helping me know more about the cars without having to go to the showroom.. :D
really like this car and really love your reviews. been watching your videos for a few years now and i can say that my car knowledge is based a lot on these videos. keep the content coming
If you listen closely you can hear that the tone and way he says everything is always consistent with all his videos. It really shows how many times hes done it. :)
I feel like it has lost abit of its original charme and while still smaller than the competition it looks chubby to me. Will be interesting to see how many of these new Minis will be sold ;) Great video as always Kyle !
Hi guido , well all cars are getting bigger and heavier , but you shouldn't forget that the mini is still mini compared to other cars . I respect your opinion , I found too that the mini became too big and heavy and the looks didn't quite grow on me , but now after I went to a dealer and sat in it and explored it , it grew on me ( Even though they only bring bad quality cars to this country ) Anyway I hope you get the chance to review the mini on your channel . Mit herzlichen Grüßen , Anas
Enjoyed the review Kyle:) don't know how i missed it,Mini"s are one of my favorite cars:) Would own one but need more space(my daily driver is a 2011 Kia Soul+:) since i chauffeur others in my family around. At least i have a 2007 Mini Cooper replica model to keep me content. .One day,I'll 'own a real one...
This was probably the most in depth report I've seen on the F56! Enjoyed every minute and now subscribed to your channel. My F56 is on order, can't wait. Not sure if I'm upgrading or downgrading from my current 2011 JCW though!
I actually think the F56 base 3 cylinder turbo model sounds the best. I and my wife both test-drove the S and the base, we found the base model peppy enough around town with better gas mileage that we traded in our 2011 S model for the 2015 base with automatic. This new automatic is awesome, by the way. It shifts faster compared to the human being and saves more gas per gallon compared to a human too. We do not feel enough of a difference driving around town between the base turbo and the S turbo. Both are peppy. May be for the weekend racers, they will need the S. We got a nice deal with Premium Package, Park Assistance Package, Sport Package (black), Storage Package, Lo Jack and Alarm Package, LED all lights, and tinted back windows and hatch window for only $23,325; saved $4,350. On a trip to Lake Tahoe, we averaged 39 mpg on the automatic. Coming back, we averaged 41.2 mpg as the traffic was smoother on our way back. Love the sound insulation, very quiet at freeway speeds. The Harman Kardon Sound system never runs out of base and tremble, the ride more comfortable with a slightly longer wheelbase and a wider stance front and back. The sunroof operation has been improved too with just one touch and it opens and closes all the way automatically. Keyless entry and ignition add to ease of operation and a touch of premium feel. Closing the doors, it sounds and feels more solid compared to our old one. Interior material are soft and very great to look at, and we love the sport steering wheel with lots of feedback, and the very supportive sport seats with enough tight support and lumbar support for longer distance driving. We also love the bigger cargo area which now holds our two standard travel languages with no problem with all the back seats still up and the cargo cover still in place for protection. And now, the driver and the passenger can choose their own temperature levels from the climate control system. With Mini's signature go-kart handling, braking and performance, now with more refinement, luxury, convenience and comfort; it is definitely a better place to spend lots of time with compared to our older Mini S model for sure, even on this base trim.
Owesome report, still have not decided if I should go for the Mini Countryman or Hard Top 4 door, to be honest it is proving to be quite dificult as they both offer some of the same features and some quite unique to each of its own. Also subscribed to your channel, your report is just what I needed to see to get all the infrormation I needed, Thanks!!
I did briefly during the beginning of the radio and I mentioned it during the back seat portion. It's very nice overall, it sounds more like a surround sound system now, especially in the rear.
Great in-depth review. Crazy long. I'm looking forward to the redesigned Mini Clubman, as well as that 5 door Cooper. I'll be looking to you as soon as those come out.
Thank's for in depth reviews like yours Kyle without thumping music and attitude presenters. I'm thinking of the new Cooper S for my next car( I live about 40 miles from Oxford where they are made, although they are starting production in Holland as well at a later date) although with BMW option pricing it is easy to get it up to £27K. I learned 2 things from your review that I wouldn't have got anywhere else. The two stage bonnet(hood) release which is nifty and I thought the chrome petrol (gas) cap on the Cooper S unscrewed instead it just flaps out! I also never noticed any dipsticks on both engines to check the oil.Keep it in depth Kyle and no gimmicks.Well done.
Been waiting for this! Thank you. 99% my next car after my juke. Will suck because I live in NY and it helps with the snow but i'll get snow tires for this bad boy and deal with it. (:
bout my 2014 cooper s about a month ago and it is in my opinion much better than the 08 cooper s i had before its just all around more smooth and feels better built and actually worth the price tag.
I absolutely love Mini, especially the S Hardtop. The only problem I had was that I noticed that pulsating starter button was straight up copied from Jaguar's XF.
I don't know why I can't seem to oohh and ahhh for the F56 as much as I can the R53. Maybe that'll change with time but right now, I just think they've hosed them down with too much BMWness. Enjoyed the video very much as always!
Im in a crossroad, I dont know if i should wether take the most equipped 3 Cylinder or the basic Cooper S, the differences are the sunroof, leather seats and the mini driving modes, help!!
Yep. Apparently it's because of the 3 cylinders. BMW says the frequency of the motor increases 50% faster than on the 4 cylinder (Not sure why that is), making it sound like a straight 6 BMW motor. The 3 is essentially a 3.0l BMW motor cut in half. It sounds great IMO. I drove one, and it's a little hot hatch for sure. Much more than the previous model. An ECU reflash and it'll approach S model power.
The new 3-Cylinder Cooper F56 sounds best!! There's the discreet echo of a 6-Cylinder (apart from that burp near idling)! Styling-wise, I like the Angry-Birds-styled front end, but, do the taillights have to be that enormous??????
Amazingly detailed review.. thanks. When I heard you say 'jack & spare tire', my head perked up. No more run-flats?? I have a 2005 S and I've detested these since day one. thanks
I believe it's there in all the models, but run flats are still an option. This one in the video had run flats, you might want to confirm that with your dealer. Thanks for watching!
Don't know what is is between Kyle and The Infiniti/Nissan dealerships, I'm sure he wants to do all of the new ones , I'm sure he's not avoiding them on purpose! We def want to see them including the Altima, Pathfinder , Sentra, and all of the Infiniti models!
I'm not avoiding them by any means, I just haven't had time to go. I plan on going this year. I already have a Nissan dealer, but I have to set up infiniti.
Bmw will never make something like that because they will overprice it to 40k or more. Plus, no one wants to buy a 40k(around that price) mini, i dont even see any john coopers only base and s models
Its 2024, I've got an F56 with less than 12k miles.Was someone's 2nd car.Cooper s ,2 litre,I absolutely love it...Come back in 10 years,ill still have it..silver with black roof,mirrors,boot part that i don't know the name of (the bit where you pop the boot/trunk)...the contrast is 😍
Never thought I'd fall in love with the Mini. This 2014 revision looks fantastic!
Wow the interior looks so awesome on the new mini!
It's a very nice interior!
My dad bought a 2017 Mini Cooper 3cyl Turbo. He said, it's so fun to drive. He hasn't been this enthusiastic about a car in many years.
Now this is what I call a review- one of the best out there! Great job - very fair and positive - and why not, the new Mini is a great update! Thanks for including the base Cooper in as well - should get a huge proportion of potential buyers with it's price tag and torque.

This is the most complete Mini review I've seen on TH-cam. Thank you for all the details.
Wow, that 3 cylinder sounds sweet! I would give anything to have a new Cooper.
it convinced me to buy a cooper s model.. thank you saabkyle04 for making such an in-depth video..

This was such a good in depth review. I've been looking for reviews that actually show/talk about the passenger experience in the back.
The best person to review a full detail on any vehicles.
Thanks
I like it how you, Kyle, have put both cars in one video to compare them instead of making two videos to get more money. Props to you, quality content as usual!
It's all about making a cool video :) Thanks man!
For a 3 and 4 cylinder engine, these engines sound great.
The 3 cylinder sounds incredible
I really liked how much effort you put in recording the engine and exhaust sound. It's really helpful for people who have a certain taste in car sounds. Thanks :)

It's amazing how high quality the new cars are, what a huge improvement!
I appreciate your hard work Kyle! Really enjoyed watching this
That's such a nice, musical chime out of the Mini :D The chime you get when you start it up, etc.
Hey Kyle, pick up my Cooper S later this week. Your video was informative. I can't wait.................

Proud R53 owner myself! I love the toggle switches in the interior, very neat!
I've owned an R53 JCW and an R56 Cooper S and this new one looks SO much cooler than them!
I was trying to do an in depth tour of my grandma's Mini Cooper when suddenly I didn't know how to open the hood but then you showed me how to do it.

Outstanding review. I appreciate the interior highlights, as Mini tends to have several.

Thanks for doing this video Kyle! I was waiting for this car :)
Great review! You almost covered everything about the car. Two thumbs up!
Kyle, could you comment a little more on the sound quality? I love that they put in speakers and tweeters for the rear passengers.
I did briefly during the beginning of the radio and I mentioned it during the back seat portion. It's very nice overall, it sounds more like a surround sound system now, especially in the rear.
Kyle
We just ordered a MINI Hardtop. Your video was an excellent way to achieve a level of familiarity before it comes in . Thanks Vort.
Great in-depth review. Crazy long. I'm looking forward to the redesigned Mini Clubman, as well as that 5 door Cooper. I'll be looking to you as soon as those come out.
I like how the Start/Stop function is de-activated as standard upon start-up, here in the UK we have to toggle it off if we don't want to use it.

Now this is what I call an "In Depth Review" Liked\Subscribed.
Love your videos! Thanks for reviewing the new mini!
We are picking a new MINI up tomorrow!!
How is it?
+Slothonaut it is absolutely brilliant. Everyone we spoke to who owns one has said we wouldn't regret it an we certainly don't.
Oh man, I can't wait to get my hands on one of them. Saving up will take a while but well worth the wait.
I love the new MINI. I would opt for the Cooper S myself because I like a sportier car. Great review Kyle.
Thank you for directing me to this video. I did not know that the F56 was the newest model. I thought the new body style came out in 2015.
My German uncle has a 2014 Mini Cooper D. Yes, in Germany, Minis are available with diesel engines. I think that's pretty neat.
Diesel minis are available in all Europe I guess. I was in Italy 2 weeks ago and I rented a 2016 Mini One D 5 door (Diesel), really nice car.
Love your videos all ways use them when deciding on my next car
Man. the new mini is so beautiful!! esp the interior!
My mom just ordered one yesterday with the same color combinations!
How is the build quality on the F56? The F56 I sat in was a pre-production model, so I'm not sure about how it actually is.
MUCH better than the R56, I was really impressed overall.
Kyle, go ahead and buy it. We all know you love it!
Haven't seen too many Audi videos lately you should do one on the 2014 RS 5.
Keep up the great job man. Your reviews are awesome :)
It's hard to keep up with everything being that I do this by myself, I'll try my best to get some of the others throughout the year.
Rock solid video Kyle.
yey, they finally brought the old mini style back, actually doesnt look half bd now.
wow, extremely in-depth review! thanks for this, and if you have the time a similar review on the new 2015 VW GTI would be amazing
I absolutely love Mini, especially the S Hardtop. The only problem I had was that I noticed that pulsating starter button was straight up copied from Jaguar's XF.
Never really looked into the Mini Cooper. Really nice vehicle.
I don't know why I can't seem to oohh and ahhh for the F56 as much as I can the R53. Maybe that'll change with time but right now, I just think they've hosed them down with too much BMWness. Enjoyed the video very much as always!
That 4 cylinder turbo sounds really nice.
I LOVE the pop and burble exhaust on the 05'!! :)
Great and thorough review! Keep up the outstanding work. You should work for one of the magazines.
Im in a crossroad, I dont know if i should wether take the most equipped 3 Cylinder or the basic Cooper S, the differences are the sunroof, leather seats and the mini driving modes, help!!
Love the F56! I think the R56 sounds better, but I might be biased as I have one lol
Is it me or does the regular Cooper (3-cyl) sound more aggressive than the Cooper S?
I've noticed a lot of people on here saying that
I would say the 3 cylinder to my ears kind of sounds better than the 4 because as you said the echo of the famous BMW 6 cylinder and is pretty smooth.
Thanks for watching!
very nice interior, thats the only thing the fiesta st is missing.
Great review thank you so much. I can't wait to order mine!
Good review / walkaround. Better than the brochure!
mini coopers are awesome!!!!
I like it. I saw a new black on orange one two weeks ago hauling ass onto 1604.

As for jack cooper, u cn always use converter mode to change any type of measurement.. I knw what u r going thru
They should make a high-performance version of this Mini with AWD and 350+ HP
Bmw will never make something like that because they will overprice it to 40k or more. Plus, no one wants to buy a 40k(around that price) mini, i dont even see any john coopers only base and s models
ReCkT RaBBit their xdrive is decent enough for light off road use, i mean VERY VERY LIGHT. Take it to no more than Death Valley backroads

very good review. thanks a lot
Love the exhaust note on the 3cyl mini! It sounds like a baby BMW straight six
