I live right by that store and have met a ton of people who won’t shop there because of all the stupid games. You walk in and allocated bottles sitting on the top shelf but they won’t sell them to you. There are a few other stores close by that treat customer way more fair and like adults without the stupid games.
We have a mailing list of over 45,000 customers. We encourage anyone to stop in our store and make their own opinions, we are always happy to negotiate on our allocated bottles, our biggest priority is to make it fun along with rewarding loyal and long term customers. As we have many customers that drive hours in order to shop our store, selection & single barrel offerings. 🥃

Just wanted to share my good fortune over the holiday. Been watching the channel for a few months and started my collection. I live in Charlotte so it's hard to find allocated bottles but they are at MSRP if you find them. Right before Xmas I dropped in the ABC just to see if anything landed and the Head of the Mecklenburg ABC was there and saw me shopping the bourbon wall. Came over and strikes a conversation. Told me it's my lucky day and handed me a Van Winkle 12yr Lot B and said Merry Xmas. Had to pay for it of course but $150 seemed an ok price 😂.
Exactly! Went to my local FW&GS store yesterday. They used to be very slightly better than your average FW&GS. They keep clearing out the good stuff to make room for high profit shit whiskey. And if I have to listen to the bald headed 🫏 of a manager lie to one more customer by saying "Yeah! That's why the state system we have is great. That bottle would be three times as much in another state!" I'm gonna lose what's left of my damn mind. Freaking Total Wine in Maryland is a privately run store that carries LITERALLY everything FW&GS does, and more, and they're usually a dollar or two cheaper. I've been to private stores all over the East Coast and there are great ones out there that don't over charge. This channel has proven that. These friggin' state/government sponsored union clowns are so full of 💩 . Sorry for the soap box moment. It's one of a very few things that really chaps my 🫏. Lying to people and screwing over an entire state full of consumers for your own selfish benefit. I hope the manager reads this and realizes who he is.
Don’t forget about the ridiculous lottery system, the bots people use to snap up anything interesting. And FWGS doesn’t care because they making money 💵.
Love the dark room challenge and the wheel to get more time. I was shocked that Jack didn’t just grab one and upgrade plan. He was so close to his dream bottle.
Panic mode! Easy to say when you’re watching but I saw that Magnus cigar straight in middle shelf for a quick grab then look around. That’s with no adrenaline flowing, but when you hear 3,2, just touch something.
A place near me did a raffle to be one of 10 people who got to do the 5 second game. I wasn't picked but I decided to show up and see what others got. I saw like 3 Parker's Heritage, a Birthday Bourbon, a 13th Colony Double Oaked, and a GTS. That's all I remember. It was pretty cool even though I didn't get to participate just to live vicariously through others, they seemed to have a blast.
@@PrestonMasters-gt5nz yeah, I wasn't seeing much too great in there when they were playing. I was surprised by how underwhelming the selection seemed to be.

We have a video posting soon, encouraging liquor stores around the country to start using our mystery lottery process to handle allocated bottles and events! 🥃⁉️ appreciate your support!
You should make a video essentially helping novices explore their pallet to discover their favorite whiskey style without breaking the bank. Something like beginners whiskey collection for like $150 with like a bourbon, rye, wheaten bourbon, high barley mash bill, Tennessee whiskey, etc. In the video, bring on a novice and try it with them helping to point out all of the flavor notes. As someone getting into whiskey and unsure what I like, I know I would buy such whiskeys and follow along.
The 5 second game is cool. But you basically have to win a lottery for a chance to play. Also, they hoard their bottles and make ridiculous deals for a chance at them. Like you have to buy a $2000 gift card to purchase a Stagg. Heck, I've gone into stores in Maryland and bought two store picks and was offered Stagg and a JMCB.
We see as a retailer about 6 bottles of Stagg a year, by pairing it with gift cards we ensure they go to loyal customers that will continue to support us through this allocated bourbon moment in time. As we expect allocations to change drastically in the next 2 years as a retailer 🥃
Thank you for stopping by and joining us! Until next time! This video was filmed in Sep 2024, we strive our very best to make sure our allocated vault has desirable bottles, however we very much have a balancing act to do as a retail account for our biweekly mystery lottery events along with our 5 second games, as on average we are doing 10 games a week, with a monthly allocation. We appreciate all the kind words and invite anyone to stop by our store! As at the end of the day we strive to make sure our customers leave happy! 🥃

I'm down in Charleston and will have to drive up and check out Southern Spirits. If you don't mind, I'd like your opinion on something. Back in 2000 my Grandad passed and I was given a bottle of Eagle Rare, from his estate. At the time I had no interest in drinking it because I only drank occasionally and mostly drank Vodka or beer. Round about 2001 I did enjoy that bottle. For several weeks, every night before bed I'd say a little prayer for Grandad and drink a couple ounces with him. With the secondary market being where it is today I really could've used the money from selling what would have been a 30+ year old bottle of Eagle Rare (in the box). Should I be kicking myself for drinking that bottle?

Most of the stuff in that room is stuff I can find on shelf for MSRP pretty much every day of the week except Fortaleza and Sweet Wheat. The secodns is the time in the room and the bottle is what you get regardless of if you put your hand on a bottle or not, the bottles dont need to be as high tier as the bottles currently on the wheel. That way nobody ends up like the last guy who got literally nothing.
I don't mind the store. Good selection and everyone is helpful. But to play the 5 second game, you have to buy a $500 gift card first.
