- Step-by-step instructions on how to offer the long mandala of 37 heaps mandala that is done in Guru Puja and before teachings. (Just the instructions, no chanting in this one). These instructions are narrated by Miffi Maxmillion, an FPMT registered teacher, and are a simplified version of the method taught by Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Get set up with your mandala and practice along! A mandala starter set need not be expensive - with just a few items from the $2 shop you will be set to offer universes of riches! You will need:
- 2 kg of uncooked rice ('fat' rice like arborio)
- 3 mandala rings (cookie cutter sets are perfect)
- base of the mandala (either tupperware or a small pizza plate or saucer, decorate with scrapbooking stick on diamantes))
- a conch-like shell as the Dharmachakra
- a cloth to wrap your set in, preferably 115cm square
- a ribbon and a safety pin to affix to one corner
- a large shallow basin (to be your 'lap' if you are sitting in a chair)
Thank you so much for this wonderful teaching.
Thank you for the clear explanation ❤🙏🙏🙏
The late Gelek Rimpoche told us he has a mandaka set in Tibet with real jewels and said it was so heavy he could hardly hold it up. He recommended rice or barley.
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation, very helpful
Nice one, Miffi and videographer!! 💖
🙏🙏🙏
Thank you 🙇🏻♀️
Thank you very much. 🙏🏻
Awesome ❤❤❤❤
This is the clearest instruction I’ve seen, and it helps that it’s in English so i can understand so thank you,can you place the mandala on your altar as an offering afterwards ?
I would like to know this too please. Excellent video and so helpful. Thank you 🙏🌺
Thank you so much for your enthusiasm! yes, you can have a 'permanent' mandala offering on your altar, but then you still need to make one in your lap each day to 'refresh' it! Often the ones on the altar are elaborate, and people roll up dollar notes into cones and have them sticking out - it looks quite fantastic! - Miffi
@@langritangpabuddhistcentre5156 thank you it’s not sometime western Tri ratna tradition of Buddhism practices, so do I need to get initiation to perform this ??
@@spiritofzen7022 no initiation needed, that's the beauty of it, everyone can make one! (Of course, if you offer as a deity, even better!)
How much in weight would you need for the stones to fill it? A pound? Two?
