We hardly get to hear what a mass shooters state of mind is but when I read an article about this case what stood out to me was that a neighbor said the shooter didn’t appear angry, upset or agitated. This is something I commonly hear about mass shooters' state of mind. I'm just guessing, but to me it sounds like a level of anger beyond the norm that has been so persistent it has been integrated with calm, deliberate behavior. When society was panicking at it's most from the pandemic they couldn't stress enough to socially distance yourself. But I think social distancing goes beyond covid, there are mental health problems and people with anger building over many years and when they go on a shooting spree they are eliminating a pain that is bothering them. So the idea is killing others relieves their pain and suffering, it's not as much about killing people as it is relieving their anger, that's why they are often so calm while doing it. This is why I think social distancing is not only important for the pandemic, but for not further bothering people and getting on their nerves. If people could learn to shut up and leave people alone, they could probably delay these cold, calm deliberate killings.
