Northeast India , South part of India and Gujarat , Maharashtra Himanchal Pradesh , Uttrakhand are vibrant and flawless in terms of Natural beauty. Happy Journey !!.

    Hope you enjoy your trip. Just a tip. Stay away from the Golden triangle (Delhi-Agra/Varanasi-Jaipur) as it is too crowded with tourist traps/scams. Instead try to visit Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Dharamshala, Leh/Ladakh, Nainital, Sikkim, Goa, Pondicherry etc.
    Also since summers are starting with the meteorological department predicting it to be one of the hottest summers of the decade, it is better to always carry an electrolyte solution with you wherever you go. If you find food to be too spicy, try consuming yoghurt/curd.

    • @lespoirdemavie
      @lespoirdemavie  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with you about the electrolytes! I used them often not because of diet adjustments. But because of being in the heat! I really liked the juice box drinks you’ve got in the pharmacy. In relation to the cities, I went to Jaipur, Agra and Delhi as I wanted to experience them. They are very crowded, but it’s unavoidable.

    • @vbcool83
      @vbcool83 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I personally think for someone who is there to explore the culture, northern Indian sites like Delhi, Jaipur, Agra and Varanasi are a great place. But I agree that Rajasthan, specifically, (Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Ajmer) is very rich in terms of architecture and cultural sites.

    • @kickassguy704
      @kickassguy704 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lespoirdemavie Yes tier 1 and tier 2 Indian cities are crowded. If you want to escape the crowd, you can always do so by running away to the less touristy hill stations or forests/nationsl parks. India has a ton of these.

    Really nice vlog and nice description of your first time in delhi, india..As for fashionware, especially women there is a lot of variety in India owing to diversity..You could (if you havent till now) try to look at saris which is a beautiful dress and especially Nalli, a south indian store is famous for it..Even Banarasi sarees are quite famous and popular..India is unlike any other country of the world in that there is a level of diversity which is unknown in most other nations of the world, so understanding or making sense of it is not that simple as other nations..A few thoughts for travel in India:
    1. The concept of personal space or privacy as known in the west does not exist here perhaps due to high population density and a more community oriented culture unlike the individualism of the west..Except in certain cases (which are criminal in nature) which you could sense most people dont intentionally invade your personal space for doing any harm..However at the same time public display of affection (which is common in the west) is not seen as appropriate behaviour in many parts of India..
    2. The staring by many people could be due to seeing a foreigner who looks completely different in skin colour and appearance (not necessarily inappropriate)..People especially from rural/semi urban areas dont see many foreigners..
    3. People asking for selfies i understand can be very irritating for a western person due to feeling of invasion of personal space, however in most cases it is not harmful and possibly out of curiosity or maybe showing of to their ftiends.
    5. Avoid street food and hygeine/cleanliness standards are ofcourse not the same as the west..However you have a lot of options in restaurants and places which should not be that expensive and are relatively hygenic..Also street food which is fried or chai is ok as many of the germs get killed in the cooking process even though it may not be pleasing to the eyes..
    Otherwise do soak in the experience of India and hope to see more of your videos 😊😊

    • @lespoirdemavie
      @lespoirdemavie  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your feedback and points about the culture. I definitely wanted to see more of the fashion, especially the traditional outfits for women. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the outfit shopping experience I was hoping for in this market, as I would like to see the start to end process ( people making the outfits from scratch, as I would like to try and make one!). In relation to differences of culture, I agree due to the population and amount of people commuting around these cities it’s impossible to avoid crowds. However, I mentioned it to foreigners watching this vlog in case they don’t do well in these situations, as it could trigger anxiety or a panic attack for some. In relation to people asking for photos, I think some people do it as part of curiosity, as they don’t often see people fair skinned like me. If people ask for a photograph, I don’t mind as they’ve asked for my permission. But, I do find it incredibly invasive if someone starts taking pictures of you without you consent especially as a woman. That isn’t ok and on some occasions, my partner stepped in to stop being doing it as crowds started to build up around me.

    • @ajas7851
      @ajas7851 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@lespoirdemavie Actually there are places where you can see the entire process of saree making..in places like Mysore and Varanasi, there are showrooms where even sarees or traditional women wear are made...Mysore in my opinion is a good place to visit in India for sightseeing..As far the invasive/insensitive behaviour of people taking pictures without consent, I would suggest that it is better to be a bit assertive/tough with such people and make them clear of boundaries..Most of them will move away afterwards..Please do also visit places in North East (Sikkim is a beautiful place), South and even west/central (like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh) which I personally feel are much better places to visit within India and people are relatively more sober in manners..The reason for this is also historical..The Northern parts of India bore the brunt of many invasions from Central Asia and even Middle East since very times and there was a lot of war and bloodshed..Even the partition of India after British rule had brought a lot of bloodshed and communal tensions in North India..So the behaviour/attitude is relatively more aggressive compared to other regions of India as it was a coping mechanism for survival...

    • @lespoirdemavie
      @lespoirdemavie  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ajas7851 thanks for the recommendations and insights about the women’s fashion. I’d love to do more of non tourist experience as I like to interact with people and also get involved, especially when it’s anything like that. If you know anywhere that does that, please let me know! Finally, in relation to the photos I did that several times and spoke to the men that were doing it and clearly said no. But they still continued to try take photos of me. It wasn’t until my partner stepped in that they finally stopped. So, I think it’s not always quite straightforward and can be very uncomfortable sometimes for women, especially for those with fair skin like me.

      @@lespoirdemavie I am not much of an expert on the subject 😃 but if you are still in Delhi please do visit hauz Khas village..There is a lot of fashionwork on clothing in certain shops there although I had visited the place much earlier and maybe things have changed so please do reconfirm this from people in the know..Furthermore as I had mentioned, if you visit Mysore which is in state of Karnataka, there are places where sarees are manufactured...This is what I can think of..I will check up and if I find anything, will let you know..I am sorry for the experience you had which should not happen in the first place (one does sometimes come across uncouth and ill mannered people), but it is an unfortunate fact that these problems do sometimes occur in India (especially for white female tourists of european origin), however in my opinion if you visit other parts of the country like South, West and North East of India you may observe lesser degree of such behaviour..Every nation and culture have their plus and minus..Thats how life is..Also despite its various flaws and imperfections India is still a place where spirituality and humaneness can still be found...

    There is a TH-camr called Snow Board Pro Camp, he did snowboarding in Gulmarg India in February. His vlogs were awesome.
    Unfortunately, most of the foreigners have an oriental perception of India. Those who have a positive oriental perception are interested in forts, palaces and 18th century bazaars.
    These foreigners end up overdoing Rajasthan.
    Those foreigners who have a negative oriental perception of India are interested in slums and chor bazaars. In the chor bazaars they meet some irritating street vendors who get on their nerves and sell them substandard products. There are some Bald and Bankrupt Britishers and Small Brained Americans like that

    Very few foreigners have an objective perception of India and are willing to show its grand diversity.

I also like to interact with people in particular women to find out more about their lifestyle and their fashion and beauty secrets. I like to see a mixture, I know some people have done slum tours, I personally wouldn’t do that unless it was with an organisation who is looking to make a difference and help the locals as I care about people.
