Spooky eye, for sure!! I started using wood filler putty for 3d prints (in addition to ca glue and baking powder). It dries quick, does not smell, and sands like magic. Another great video, please keep them coming
My vote's also for the single pilot + observer eye combo On a sidenote, thank you for the inspiration. I remember doing this in my teen years; recycling plastic trash into ships and robots using my dad's work tools. Somehow, life got in the way and I lost the spark. 'Glad I found your channel. Time to rekindle the hobby.
My dad was a semi famous jeweller sculptor who worked with plastics and epoxy his whole life. He used to heat plastic up with a heat gun mould it into shapes, sand it, use resins, etc. this was back when there were little safety guidelines and easy to obtain good safety equipment. He developed asthma, emphysema, nerve damage where he couldn’t feel his face, through the coughing he got an enlarged hearts and the last 20 years of his life were a misery due to his physical deterioration. He died from complications due to this. Please please invest in safety equipment to take fumes away from you. When sanding plastics, using resins, 3D printing, etc. wear a really good respirator, use a airbrush booth to take the fumes away from your lungs. Or something better. It took 20 years for the effects to hit but they really messed him up. Hope this is received with the love it’s intended. Love your work. ❤
Love the progress you’re making here! I think the camera eye would be really cool. It’s kind of spooky, and it introduces a nice element of asymmetry to the design.
Using the camera for the other eye is an amazing idea it looks like one of those missile warning defense system turrets, or could also be for mapping terrain and radar scanning
Yeah the camera radar eye looks very cool. Also to my opinion a bit of asymmetry to a craft like this ads a lot of cool obscurity. Makes it more interesting. Looking forward to the rest of your build.
Always loved asymetry in designs. Giger's derelict, Homeworld ships and such. I think the webcam eye would be perfect. Think targeting pod on aircrafts.
Some plebs tips from me: DIY your own putty, you can make it to any consistency as you want from runny, thick, putty, or coarce. Make a batch of it for 2 part epoxy, it will last long time. Make it with any type of flour or starch or cement or sand or whatever texture you want. and for this guy, I think he need longer tails to looks a bit balance. xd
wait.... this isn't your home? I always assumed that your work shop was attached to your house. that's cool I wish I had a dedicated space for my hobby
10000000% add the robo eye, i think an AI copilot idea is sick, or even some sort of sniper eye for like a long range weapon option from a hover position would be sick with that, i think that gives you some dope opportunities for an asymmetrical pilot headset as well, with like one primary navigation eye and one primary armament eye
For better mixing of the epoxy putty, Roll each piece into aq worm and then plait them together before you roll them into a ball for final mixing. I was going to suggest making one of the pilots a gunner but I also like the eye idea. The tail looks better now.
I really dig the eye idea. But as someone interested in military. It would be cool if it was a sort of ball jointed laser "cannon" as protection while flying.
You can shorten the curing time of epoxy by applying heat (not too much though). The outcome will be a bit more brittle, but for miniatures (unless its a load bearing structure) that's totally fine
I think that the introduction of that dead webcam ball housing is a good one, but you should place the Pilot in the Left Orb from your prospective or the right orb from the Pilot's perspective since this is the generally accepted pilot's seat and the co-pilot sits in the other seat, but of course that is all at your discretion, Also in order to make the webcam orb seem more purposeful, modify it to have multiple lens apertures to give it the artificially intelligent robot feel to it so that it gives the right impression, if that is what you wanted to do, o f course. Something along the lines of a guy who own a bizarre spaceship and is a scavenger or a mercenary or bounty hunter and has a more reliable and trustworthy Robot as his co-pilot/ intelligence officer/emergency backup. But is in the shape of a floating orb that has lenses pointing in every direction like an astro droid that is capable of lots of different things. Just a suggestion of course, but Star Wars in a Universe with an environment that can accept pretty much ANY ship design, into its general mishmash pan galactic culture.
Love the one pilot + 'weird eye' approach... the asymmetry is supercool... just wondering how that pilot gets into the cockpit and how does he/she get out of it to get into the rest of the ship? I think the pilot scale is off... that it should be 1/2 the size it is. That way you can have a hatch/doorway into the rest of the ship to make the design more believable/practical. Other than that... looking cool!
I would dot the eyes. It seems to fit better with the sci-fi motif. Dragonflies have unique eyes to help them see and have great eyesight because they are predators. Also on a practical note, it is not ergonomic for the pilot. I would imagine they would have a hard time getting in and out of the vehicle.
I really think you need to pad the ending of your videos more. The suggested videos popped up on my TV and covered the AI copilot almost entirely. Give us some long shots of the current build to gawk at.
Great Idea for AI as co-pilot, but the scale of the figure is imho not matching to the entrance on the side and the ball. Figure is too big, it feels claustrophobic.
I dig the idea of the camera in the 2nd cockpit
The AI co-pilot/giant camera eye is a fantastic idea. I love this progressive build.
Almost verbatim the comment 👁 woulda left. 💡🧠👍

Robot eye for sure! I like the idea that the co-pilot is the dragonfly itself
The spooky eye has to come in, one pilot is enough. I personally would like to have a passage from the cockpit to the inside of the ship.
Keep the spooky eye. Add an open side door and add the other figure there.
Spooky eye is non-symmetric detail so it's much better, two pilots would just look weird imo.
Love the starboard side spooky sensor eye. The asymmetry will really help this piece feel more functional, and it adds to the storytelling.
Love the spooky eye
Love the idea for some large camera eye thing.
The asymmetry of the spooky eye adds some for sure. I say go with it.
Yes! Asemetrical sounds like a great plan
I like the camera in the r/h pod idea, and a great change to the tail too.
Spooky eye, for sure!! I started using wood filler putty for 3d prints (in addition to ca glue and baking powder). It dries quick, does not smell, and sands like magic. Another great video, please keep them coming
I think the camera was actualy a realy cool idea!
My vote goes to pilot + giant camera combo, it looks fantastic! Great work as always!
Lovely work as always, you're always great at the smooth compound curves!
I like one pilot and one weird scary cam-eye!
My vote's also for the single pilot + observer eye combo

Damn I wish my drawers would look like this!
That eye could be The sensor pack , someting like the apache helicóptero. Great work

Spooky eye please, it's different and I know you will make it look amazing
I'm definitely for the solo pilot and the webcam body being used, that slight asymmetry will really add to the finished design imo.
amazing job!!!!
Que trabalho incrível! Meu parabéns! Eu também gosto de fazer trashbashing e aprendo muitas técnicas novas contigo.
Definitely go for the spooky eye - looks like a good sized shape to hide some lighting effects in... ;)
A nice red LED in the middle of the eye would be cool.
Always loved asymetry in designs. Giger's derelict, Homeworld ships and such. I think the webcam eye would be perfect. Think targeting pod on aircrafts.
Definitivamente el ojo me gusta más! Los dos pilotos es lo obvio y quedaría muy bien, pero el ojo le va a dar una personalidad única.

I think you should keep the spooky eye copilot/ camera. It's an interesting way of breaking the symmetry. Great work!
Definitely do the one eye thing
Team spooky eye ❤️❤️❤️
Great stuff! Spooky eye! An alternative could be its not even a spooky eye but a gatling gun protruding from it :D

I love epoxy putty
The camera would look great, especially if you can find some nice thick lenses to put in it, maybe with something reflective at the back layer.
For better mixing of the epoxy putty, Roll each piece into aq worm and then plait them together before you roll them into a ball for final mixing. I was going to suggest making one of the pilots a gunner but I also like the eye idea. The tail looks better now.

single pilot and the 'gizmo' in the other 'eye'-pod

Another great Video. Noice
Keep spooky eye. That could be a radar od big camera or something like that.
Sensor arry/droid in the left side Cockpit?
The 3D webcam could be a targeting/scanning system for weapons, etc.
Keep the AI eye and maybe try to do it like the predator had triple laser tracking inside of it :)
Great idea and a nice in-universe Referenzen!
Definately the webcam!
When you put bolts in, do you always have a nut glued underneath? Or is it possible to just put a bolt in and it will stay?

alguma chance do por um motorzinho pra fazer as helices girar no futuro?
Spooky eye
Do the spooky eye, my creative friend. -Rick, USMC

A gimballed HEL laser maybe? so you can spare the transparent dome for another air vehicle project.

Go for big eye. It could also be a weapon if this is a military type of vehicle
That pilot model is way bigger than i expected. Does he just live in that cockpit?
Turn the spooky eye into a a duel gun like on a belly turret
The "eye" in the second cockpit could be is Ai Co-Pilot . like R2 was fir Luke in his X-wing..
2 cannon gun turret ball instead of the eye, pilot on one side gun on the other.
I really think you need to pad the ending of your videos more. The suggested videos popped up on my TV and covered the AI copilot almost entirely. Give us some long shots of the current build to gawk at.
Go with the camera, its like a copilot thats a robot.
I think seeing two pilots would be cool.
Put "R2D2" bot in second cockpit
Great Idea for AI as co-pilot, but the scale of the figure is imho not matching to the entrance on the side and the ball. Figure is too big, it feels claustrophobic.
AI copilot?
that weird eye could be like a laser or camera pod the pilot guides with head tracking…it’s a cool idea imo
