I've always got a straight end 22mm but some people say they get the 21.5mm. If I remember, my watch tech once had to file the 22mm a bit, but other times he did not, so perhaps the 21.5mm is the safer bet.

Being a new owner of a Seiko Padi SNJ027 to gift myself for my upcoming birthday on the 15th of July, I got infected with the Seiko Strain! 😂 I also am not a big fan of rubber straps so I swapped it with a Strapcode super engineer II. However, I'm tempted to swap the black shroud for the brushed stainless steel shroud. Do you think it will be a warranty issue? Leave it as is? (For now)? Love your work!!😊

Still a Tuna lover, but trending towards smaller.(40-42mm) When I get another it'll be the Sbbn 033 since it does wear smaller. I still have my Endmill which will be used for it. Good Karma! Apples and oranges, totally different vibe. They are super lookers with super lume. But they're quartz and Hardlex, which is a bummer. Between the two, I can't choose one over the other. Terrible value proposition. But what else is there in that price point?

It looks amazing. I can't sell it. Regrets? No. Would I buy now if I were starting a collection? Hard to say because I don't bond well with quartz watches, and the lack of sapphire at that price point is challenging, but when I look at it, it has the DNA of a very expensive type of Seiko and being quartz it doesn't have the service costs to worry about, so I say go for it.

WTF! The 031 has a non-polished case. Why didn't you make this video earlier McMahon? I got myself the 033, and though I love it, I am not a huge fan of the blingy shroud. I am wondering now whether the "upgrade" to 031 is worth it. I don't like bracelets in general - so, the upgrade would just be for the black bezel and the non-polished case. I gave up on finding a 017 for less than USD1200 (which seems insane). Thanks for messing with my perfectly happy 033-situation ;-)
I apologize for that, Tejaswi. I didn't want to buy the 031. After all, I already had two Tunas, but the more I looked at it the more I felt I HAD to have it. I didn't know about the stainless bezel on the 031 until recently.
I am now looking at how I missed it in the pictures. I live in Switzerland, and used c-watch.co.jp to buy the 033. The pictures of the 031 actually show that the shroud is not as polished as the 033. But boy, the photos do not make it obvious. And also, paying more for the bracelet that I don't like it also tricky. Speaking of bracelets, I got some good rubber straps from WatchGecko - not sure I want to spend on the Strapcode bracelets yet. I am waiting for you to do a review of just the bracelets sometime.

Same bracelet as the Marine Master 300. Regarding grails, when I went to Breitling shop and took off my Tuna to put on the Breitling, I was relieved to put my Tuna back on, so yeah the Tuna is my grail.

About the SBBN033: Seems very difficult to get this watch in Europe unless you order it from Japan and pay crazy VAT prices. In Amazon someone is asking like 1500 pounds from this. That's ridicilous.

Have you seen the movement in these? The 7C46? It's a Quartz movement that is meant to last and can be serviced, such as that by the likes of Cartier, Omega and in the Grand Seiko's for instance, albeit without the decoration. You're entitled to your opinion but the movement in the Tuna Quartz models wasn't meant to be disposed of and replaced if something happened.

I have an SBBN007. It’s my favorite Tuna because of the crop circles and smaller script. It makes the dial less cluttered.

I love the 637. I've owned 3, and they all look amazing on the Strapcode Endmill. I only sold them because I prefer my Seiko Tunas.

My personal preference is the 031, more wow factor on the wrist. I keep mine on the stock bracelet.

I like the chronograph Planet Ocean but even used it's pricey. That Seiko used could be found in the 2.5K ballpark.
