great piece of equipment and the tarp really compliments the versatility of the bivanorak. i think it would be great if hilleberg makes a mesh net for bug protection
This is a great all in one poncho and bivy. I pair it with the Hilleberg Windsack, some paracord, several Voile straps and tent stakes, when I need a tarp/group shelter in my SAR or Nordic ski patrol pack. These videos are great both as a refresher and for learning new tricks. Hilleberg makes several Mesh Box Shelter and mesh inner tents. For summer camping I love my Nammatj 3 GT with the inner mesh tent replacing the nylon inner tent.
I love mine!!! ...wear it to work etc....never know today when I might need to hide out somewhere in the urban jungle....I need to buy one for a family member and see they are on backorder for some time now.....any idea when we can expect to order these? Is it difficulty getting the fabric or labor right now....Covid and other things has changed the world we live in ...in some ways....

I already got a Duplex, so i dont really need to resort to bivys and tarps - but i have been wanting to try it out anyway, as i believe it can provide a really nice camping experience. So i started looking at different bivys earlier today, but i was skeptical that the ultralight ones might get holes in them pretty quick. This one seems to be of durable material, and as i save the weight of bringing additional rain gear or windbreaker, this gear fits into both the "ultralight" and "durable" categories - and with a headnet for mosqito protection, this thing should work great. Gonna order one right away :P There; ordered! Thanks Hilleberg =)
Got it today, and im *very* happy with the quality and functionable design! I had to immediately try it inside my house, to check how it fits and all that, and my first impressions are really good. Hilleberg states that it weighs 550g on their website - but on my scale it weighs only 500 (including stuffsack). I have never been this excited about a shelter before 🥰
Tried it with a headnet the other day, and even though there were a good amount of mosqitos, at least 5 spiders, and a few ants, within half a meter from to my sleeping pad, i had NO issues with this at all. Im a side sleeper, and so the hood of the Bivanorak kept the headnet from touching my face, and mosqitos could not get to me. I recommend using it with a quilt instead of a sleeping bag, as this allows you to unsinge the bottom, put on the shoes, lift up the poncho and quilt, and suddenly you are free to walk around. This is especially practical if you wake up having to pee in the middle of the night - but if you choose a sleeping bag, then especially getting back in to the bivanorak and your sleeping bag will (IMO) be a lot more hassle than with a tent (which sucks when you wake up having to pee). I have to say though, it is a bit noisy, and "micromovements" of the body creates sounds that gets trapped/"amplified" inside the bivanorak/hood. It is probably just a matter of getting used to some sounds though, and im looking forward to trying it during a rainstorm, to see how it performs without a tarp :P Another thing to consider is that your 60cm/24" wide sleeping pad will probably not fit nicely inside this, and so you probably want to remove the sticks and stones and pinecones on the ground somewhat thoroughly if you want to place your sleeping pad directly on the ground. Luckily most sleeping pads will fit on somewhat narrow trails, and it is usually fairly quick and easy to clear the ground on such a small area. As i dont like ticks, and also dont like to step on all kinds of plantlife in the forest, i try to avoid hiking "off trail". This means that i find potential campsites almost anywhere i go :P

4 season red riding hood, sure looks fly.
@ 2:54 is that spot not somewhere between helags and kläppen? Looks oddly familiar haha.
It looks better than the snugpak enhanced poncho it’s longer and adjustable I’ll be buying 2
yes, it looks better and more versatile, but the price it also 4 times more expensive than Snugpack's poncho
Hello, would this take an osprey rucksack 50 ltd?
Im a slim guy, and have plenty of space left after i put on my Arcteryx "Alpha FL 45" backpack - so i believe it would work nicely.
Got a 65 liter osprey backpack the other day, and i am able to use it with the bivanorak.
Waiting for instagrammers to pick up on this trend because it could honestly be a fashion statement. Maybe I should start!
Hello, I cannot find this product on your website. Can you tell me where can I buy it? I am from Chile.
