Where did you get that tractor for them to go in !? Seems perfect for them for a while . Trying to figure out coat effective setups for them before I buy some .

We built it from an old trailer cover. That is one thing about turkeys that is a little different from chickens. They grow really fast and they need a lot of space. We weren't prepared for how fast they grew and so had to whip up spaces quickly as they grew.

@@katrinavanosch it looks fantastic. Good job. You just need about half dozen more for your brood? 😂
I got 4 this year and I like this style. Mine are only couple weeks yet. Thank you for this post. I’m wondering when I can move them outside to their yard.

@@catherinegrace2366 wait until they are a little older, especially if you are going to leave them outside at night. 4-6 weeks old and warm temps are the perfect recipe for the big move.

I changed the cedar bedding I was using to hemp now my birds are dirty looking can I wash off 6 week old baby turkeys or would this be dangerous

Young turkeys are fragile, I would not recommend getting them wet, you could use a damp cloth and then dry them with a hair dryer, but unless they are caked with dirt, I would leave them be until they are a little older.

I've seen a few turkey poults have curled up feathers, is it their age or something wrong?

Hm, I’m not sure. I’ve never seen that before.

That is what I said, I was really nervous about putting them outside when it is too cold. They were fine!

No I thought you were saying it was below freezing 25 degrees, so what was the actual temperature, it's my first time and I'm wondering about what temperature would be best to put them outside. Thank you 😊

Oh fun! Well I waited until they were 3 weeks and had primary feathers. I would say when it is around 68 F. I tried for a calm day so they didn’t get a chill. I brought them in at night until they were older just to make sure. Better to be safe than sorry. Have so much fun!
