- Today we explore some partially and totally unrecognized countries that are kinda of countries... but also kind of not? Like many geographical things, it's complicated! I hope you enjoy the video! :)

Republic of Artsakh doesn't even claim to exist anymore, in 2023 they were amnexed by Azerbaijan and renounced all claims to independence
Actually, it was on the 1st January 2024, which, to be fair, at the time, was 2023 for the US and UK
Didn't their "president" unsuccessfully try to take that back? Though, even if Artsakh no longer exists, there's still a dozen other not-countries around the world to talk about anyway.
Artsakh tried to get its independence, like many other countries after the collapse of the USSR, but they were denied for 30 years. Eventually, Azerbaijan attacked and killed around 7000, and after that it pressured by 9 months of blockade, and were forcefully pushed out of their homes (more than 100.000 Armenians).

Armenia refused to resolve the conflict peacefully for 30 years. Not a single inch was returned to Azerbaijan. On the contrary, every year, Azerbaijan was insulted, new territorial claims were made to Azerbaijan. Finally, after 30 years, Azerbaijan was forced to restore its INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TERRITORY by military means.
What did you expect? Did you expect that you will occupy someone else's territory, expel 1 million people and nothing will happen in return? You playing the victim about a war which you started

sadly... after the Artsakh residents (more than 100.000 Armenians) were forcefully sent out of their homes, after war, and 9 months of blockade. Azerbaijan and Turkey are behind this crime.

Correction concerning the SADR: 20% of the territory is not controlled by the SARD, but considered as a buffer zone under UN supervision. Morocco technically has indirect control over the region, but nothing is official. The southern part of the territory that separates Morocco from Mauritania is now under direct Moroccan control following an invasion resulting from an incident between Morocco and SADR rebels.

Fun fact: Nakhchivan (not a country but an autonomous republic of Azərbaycan) also recognizes the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Azərbaycan does not recognize Northern Cyprus because of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. To this day it still hasn't recognized Northern Cyprus.
With Artsakh no longer a thing as of the start of this year, that might change very soon...

other unrecognized nations that still exist: Molossia, Seborga, Liberland, Sealand, Ambazonia, Logone, Puntland
