This song is sacred to me, I read the lyrics at my father's funeral, he died two years ago next month and I am still reduced to tears every time I hear it.
"Jenny" and "God Went North" are two other greats for the more emotionally-charged heavy hitters by them. They have plenty of other great tracks though that are more rocking/upbeat & always with a great message & thoughtful lyrics. 👍🤘
“God went North and Jenny” are both true story songs by them. So good their newer song spirits is very good too. Mixes rock and hard rock but the harsh vocals are placed well within their music.
You guys have such cool personalities lol Andrea's face and the "HUH?" at the beginning when Dallas called the baby cute was so funny to me 😭This band has so many amazing songs. I've never seen this music video before and I don't think I have ever been that invested in a music video in my entire life; I'm not sure I even remembered to blink lol It was so sad though!! I hate when people are mean to their parents since I know it crushes them and when the kid doesn't realize their mistake until the parent is gone, it's the saddest thing ever. Like the dad in that video died alone and heartbroken and the son had to live his life and raise his own kid knowing that he never got to apologize to his father 😔 This video got me all sorts of messed up lol I just realized how embarrassing it would be if I was that dedicated to watching a video and then I ended up interpreting it wrong. It was weird that the dad didn't answer the phone, but I guess the storyline wouldn't have fit the song if he did answer and they became close again lol Or maybe the dad was just sick and/or in a lot of pain and didn't want to deal with the son being mean to him anymore. Seems unrealistic though, since I know most loving parents always forgive their kids. I have a sibling who is far less than ideal and I don't even talk to her anymore because of the way she treats people, including my mom, but anytime she calls, my mom always answers no matter how many times my sister hurts her. It just shows how much parents love their kids, and I really couldn't imagine it.
😂 half the time we talk to one another we have the headphones on and we answer with no clue what the other said! 😅. Yea this song hits real hard! Isn’t it crazy how people treat one another , and most of all parents. I’m sure in some cases I would understand, but from the music video it just hits pretty hard for people. I’m sorry your mom gets treated poorly by your sister, but as a loving mom she’s still there no matter what. I know for myself I was close to my mom but there are things I wish I did differently. And then when she passed away , it’s all too late and I then think…man I wish I would have hugged her more or told her I loved her. Just little things. Idk man I feel like even if something may seem big to you but may not be a huge deal, we need to forgive until it’s too late. I know I do that for myself. And look I just wrote a biography 😂😂 We love your long comments! Hehe. -Andrea
Wait I didn’t mean a biography, that be all about me. I was meaning the length. But didn’t know why I chose to use that word. Oh my lord I’ll shut up 😅
@@dna2001 Lmao please never shut up but I usually just call it a novel if I feel like I wrote too much 😮💨 I love that you guys answer each other without even hearing what the other person said lol reminds me of what we do with my 3-year-old niece when we can’t understand what she’s saying (she’s speech delayed) so we just end up being like “OH REALLY?!? COOL!” and hope that it makes sense to the poor little thing lol but yeah, I know that some parents aren’t the best so it makes sense why there’s tension with their kids, but the dad in this video seemed to loving and nice :( I know it’s just a video and it’s not real, but I also know that situations like this are a reality for a lot of people so it’s super sad. You’re right though, it’s super important to forgive people as much as possible, including ourselves. I think empathy is the biggest trait that leads to kindness, and although it can really suck sometimes when you constantly feel the emotion/pain of others without being able to help, it seems like the ability to feel how other people feel makes you never want to hurt someone again. - Also, I am so sorry for your loss. I didn’t realize your mom has passed away. I think parents typically understand though, like they know their kids love them even if a few mistakes have been made on both sides. Regret is hard, especially when you can no longer go back and change what happened, but I hope you’re okay and that you’re able to forgive yourself for anything that is causing you to feel regret. 🤍
@@_HolyHell_ that’s what I meant a novel! 😅 thank gawd for you! And yes I did loose my mom it’s been a while now but still seems like yesterday. Some of these NF sounds make me speechless and I have nothing to talk about or I’d have to walk away and cry.
If you get a chance listen to Jenny or this is the time .I'm glade to seesome one reacting to nothing more there a very underrated band great reactions ladies
Great band and as others have said, i loved this song but now that im a father it hits harder. Jenny or This is The Time should be next. They are great storytellers and always have messages in their songs and lyrics that are very poignant.
As a father this song hits so hard. Love this band so much
As a father of three boys lyrically, this is one of my favorite songs ever written.
Another solid one along these lines is lost by our last night
This song hits me in the feels every time.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I could not imagine. 💜-D
@dna2001 yeah, my mom passed away the end of June, it's been a rough couple of years
About a week ago, I listen to this song for the first time since my father passed a year and a half ago. A dam broke within me.
Great song. Pulls at your heart strings, especially as a father. Btw ya'll are the cutest. Keep doing what youre doing.
thank you so much for the kind words!
And I’m sure it does 😌 -Andrea.
It would be cool to see reaction to their song Jenny
