There's something about the Chinese culture that a lot of people may not realize. The Chinese will make whatever product you want at whatever quality you want. The difference is always what are you willing to pay.

I bought a hydraulic speedway camshaft for a dirt modified. It’s one of just a few grinds they sell, and it had a lot of feedback and a very good rating. I was on the cheap side, but it didn’t disappoint. It’s around 240 duration @50, .510 lift, and 106 LSA.

Got some real world data on this camshaft. For data purposes I pulled my elgin 1840p and tried one of these. This china cam sounds a lot meaner but it doesn't perform. On my combo I ran an 11.2 on 14psi of boost and 6psi leave (4700lb 4wd) with the elgin. On the exact same truck with the china cam I ran a 12.0 and sad thing is the 12.0 had 8 more degrees of launch timing because the camshaft is so lazy down low it didn't want to get up on the converter.

The faster U get on a intake duration the less the stock computer will pickup. Chinese cams tend to increase air intake volume for some reasons U will burn more fuel in the city as with the old crane cam thumpers as they called em before they said they were towing or performance cams. The Chinese cams feed in after 1200rpm actually 1500 is my exp with em. 2200 going up a hill they will really ramp out some speed on a hill that is. On say the interstate the China crap is also ok the pedal stays level. I have a Harlan sharps in an identical truck with a China cam. I can say I get better low end with thee Harlan. Cam design is still considered a BLACK art. Once you understand the mechanical limits, and production to performance trade offs there is nothing BLACK about it. The big deal seems to be using polynomials, splines, Bezier curves (French curves) to create to a wonder lobe with NO jerk. Take away any jerk and the cam becomes just a round lump with NO lift
Personally, I do not think lobe development has come very far, if at all since CAD. power increases are through cylinder head development.
An old saying is :: 'the bullshit stops, when the flag drops '

As always a Chinese manufacturing bashing video about people that went cheap on their cam and have had occasional issues show up. If a person wants to be cheap then they shouldn't complain about what they get. By a more expensive "american made" cam that may be only questionably better and probably made from the same core material and production plant. American made products may or may not have better induction hardening processes used and may hold slightly tighter production tolerances but +- .002 to +- .003 just doesn't matter on a lobe. I'm a drafter designer and call out production tolerances given by the engineers and it's all about cost. I'm really enjoying hearing people state they can check material type in a cam. Let me know how thats done because my company would love to be able to do that without sending a piece of it to a lab for destructive testing.

Wow, so first off....#1 both cam doctor reports are plainly there for you to see, #2 my cam is not a "version " I simply choose 2 lobes out of my lobe library to show how bad the import design is, #3 after looking up the Elgin specs the China version is 8 degrees off...#4 this was not a attempt to procure more business as we are covered up already, however this was a attempt to educate people about lobe designs and accuracy so that they may better make a choice regardless where they buy from.

@Pj L If you can't afford to do it right the first time how could you afford to it right the second time? Strange economics to me.

@@pjl1919 I understand bro. Sometimes people want to throw around China to boost their ego. I don't understand how an upgrade is a setback. That cam will make more than the stock cam. People looking to make power realize the engine isnt going to last a lifetime pushing it to it's limits. So spend how you can and have fun with what you have. Some people suggest you just don't do it at all. Then they're having all the fun. But yeah, American stuff is better for the most part, is also not the one all be all either.

@@BretPowell There are many channels competing for my viewing time. While I do appreciate the information I could make out, it was uncomfortable to watch. I am going to get the information I need from the channels that make the effort to cater to the needs of the viewers. I am sorry that I offended you, but I will not visit your channel again. May your future videos be fantastic and very popular.

Your ovaries are over working. Take it easy on the sweets. Try to break the ego ovarian connect. A couple wet t contests at a biker rally could help. Just a thought.
