- This video starts out with back to bsck rarities and a meet for good measure. Ive never seen a Metroliner Cab Car on these tracks before. A high speed drag race follows along with a buzz on the platforms from us railfans. A meet was next up and almost as enjoyable.
Early in the week they were testing the alert system at the airport. What followed later in the week was not a drill. Fire near the airport and enough to warn approaching pilots of the activity.
I got 3 Amtrak shorties in 3 days. Most likely bad orders. They are all inlcuded.
There are 4 helicopters leaving Martin. You will have to play Fortunate Son in your head or on your own. Also the Maryland ANG is flying Warthogs.
Lastly I just had to include the Amtrak defect detector on Track A. They dont run trains on track A but they are probably responsible for track upkeep.

Amtrak is planning to phase out the use of the Metroliner Cab Cars due to age and safety concerns, and is trialing using HHP-8s as unpowered cab units in their place as an interim until it can finally get the new Airo sets. This may mean that the Metroliners are taking a final bow as simple coaches, not being used as cab cars at all (aside from possibly reversing in yards). A poetic, but bittersweet, last act for what was once the crown jewel and shining hope of American railroading.
Amtrak is also about to get rid of their current Acela trainsets (they're way past the end of service life). They are testing the new consists now on the NEC and they are supposed to be in service by the end of 2024.

The Budd Metro cab cars are still viable to use as intermediate consist cars with some modifications by eliminating the cab to increase seating capacity. They have severed their design purpose very well and having a few extra cars because of high ridership demand makes sense until the new replacements for the Amfeet 1/2 are place into inventory.
@@Stanf954 There's no point in modifying the Metroliner cars with Airo coming into play in the next few years.
@@Stanf954 As Mr. Marshmellow noted, the time and expense of modification vastly outweighs any benefits in the hopefully (sadly) few years they have left before retirement.
The Metroliners are the last Pre-Amtrak equipment still in revenue service. It will be a sad day indeed to see them go.
It's definitely an unparalleled train presentation video !! Greetings from India.
Don't be a chapri here.. don't spoil the name.
NO WAY YOU CAUGHT THE A10 THUNDERBOLT
Way to go getting a little bit everything , trains , planes , firetrucks Foamers delight
Great catches, especially the side by side!
Nice horn 📯 salutes. 🙌 LOL. 😁👌
Awesome! Great catches, loving the high speed passes, races and meets!
Also that A10 was epic. One of the best planes ever.
Thanks for putting this together.
4:09 sounds like an air raid siren
It is, some sort of whelen
Nice shot of the A-10!!
Absolutely love Amtrack
Great video! Go Amtrak! Thanks👍😎🚂
And the the star was definitely the freedom thrower 😊 the trains were cool too but that A10 though
I like watching from west Baltimore near the abandoned American Ice plant as well as Gwynn’s tower, Halethorpe and Catonsville.
The Northeast corridor is one of the busiest rail lines in the world. And it's only gonna get busier
A-10 Go BRRTTT
Fantastic video, really love the Amtrak trains.
Thumbs Up! Excellent good Video!
cooooooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quite a number of horn salutes.
Cool catches
Very nice catches. Keystone lite, on the NEC towards Washington DC, P42 leading on the NEC, Two new ALCS on route north, you got everybody excerpt Liberty
Cool well done Brad!
great video!
NICE
nice catches!
🚄 💯
What’s with the short 1 coach trains that went by?
Power move
Interesting! That looked like a NE Regional, I wonder why they had a metroliner cab car on it. I think the two services tend to share a lot of equipment but I haven't seen this ever myself
This is a Sunday Only Train known as 121/122 DC - NYP
Nice video. LIKE
Wow that much action in one week
I didnt even compile all of it. Typically I can get at least 10 trains in a couple hours there, and that's just Amtrak.
Usually, a Amtrak regional runs with a cab car to WAS on sundays on 121, but I'm not sure why it was this day.
6:17 Chargers 354 & 356 those came to DC on Train 30 a few days before.
that looks like the crescent at 11:15
Super curious what some of the very short consists were! Can anyone shed some light haha
Most likely Equipment Moves
what is the speeed ???? thank you
The track speed here is 125 mph and they do every bit of it!
4:10 What was that sound in the background? A siren 🚨 and a digital voice afterwards.
It’s saying that it’s a emergency siren system test
Anybody know why some of the train cars (especially the baggage ones) are being painted with the old red white and blue stripes? Are they just transitioning back to old pant jobs?
Wait wait wait, that's meant to be a station!?
He low key took n L on the jingle bells 😭😭😭😭
3:16 ok I know we're short on cars but this is ridiculous!
Why the Amtrak shorts? Equipment moves? And which NEC regionals routinely run double ended?
I suspect bad order cars. One of those cars on the shorties had a broken window.
Regionals that stay on the electrified Northeast Corridor are double ended as it's usually two ACS-64s.
What station is this
Martin State Airport MARC Station. Amtrak doesnt stop there. In fact, MARC's shop is right there too.
@@bradjtrains Ooo MARC? Nice! When it comes to fast trains, I personally like Princeton Junction and Jersey Ave station since it can be easily accessible from NYC via NJT
Although Princeton Junction is better because it has internet access, snack machines, and bathrooms
Is that an emergency siren? 4:09
1:19 it’s not Christmas time
It came early this year..lol
Cool video - you would loose your 💩if you got to see the Japanese bullet train pass by - unless you have
.
What the fuck? Not the fucking Acela train!
So where do you film at?
This is filmed at Martin State Airport MARC station in, east of Baltimore
@@bradjtrains thank you
