Pearl Jam was one of my husband's favorite bands. The songs remind me of so many different times of our life since we were basically kids. I got him concert tickets for gifts whenever I could, and many memories there. He died suddenly the week he turned 45. So many nights I just listen to Eddie's voice because it brings me back and makes me feel my husband's close. I also make our kids listen to all the music, telling them what was Dad's favorites.

Music has that innate ability to tap into the essence of who we were, are, and it’s like the songs take on new meaning in time if we allow them to. I realize the constant bittersweet sadness and comfort mixed you must experience with the music, but it’s like someone “there” for you. To give you solace and strength on long nights and tough mornings. Pearl Jam, to me, is life affirming. The music has lifted me out of so much darkness and continues to. Your husband’s beauty will always live within your memories, your kids, and the heart of the music that can still carry you throughout life. I’m truly sorry for what you’ve endured and hope you can keep rediscovering that beauty through the music.

Bruuuuuuuuuuuce!! I remember seeing Springsteen at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Eddie came out and surprised the crowd for a couple songs. The crowd went insane. LOVE Eddie! It was such a great concert. It started to pour down rain and Bruce and the E Street Band never stopped playing. Hands down one of the best concerts I've ever attended. Four of the top five concerts...out of all artists I've seen in my life...are Bruce. There's nothing like it, life changing if you're in the pit near the stage. It's magic. If you're wondering who is #5...it was Prince.

My biggest regrets for live music is not seeing Prince or Floyd. Hit to see The Boss a few times and couldn't agree more. Ed is definately following in his footsteps. Thanks the powers for these two song writers, and ENTERTAINERS! BRUCE and the Jungleland vocals is probably the most powerful thing I've ever heard live.

Eddie has always been great with interviews unlike some of the others especially when they are younger who just hate talking about their albums and all that but the trick to really getting great interviews is getting legends to interview other bands then it becomes way more serious and you gain so much info on that album. It's just good to see other legends willing to talk with others and interview them but I think more of these should be done and with Bruce. He's great and I know why it's great is because they get each other and respect each other for their talents. When Pearl Jam first hit the scene it was my cousin's favorite band. He was playing baseball and took a dive for thirdbase and he broke his toe and hip. He was 14. They took him in to get scans and he ended up with a rare kind of bone cancer. His make a wish was to finish up his old truck him and his dad was working on for the last few years a classic truck and to see Pearl Jam. When Make a wish contacted Eddie and the others they sent him a copy of the unreleased next album which ended up being Vitology that was coming out that year in 94 the same year he found out and he was given 15 months which he almost made it to but Eddie paid his way to see them and kept up with him sending him all kinds of music stuff until he passed in 96 and I'll never forget that because he surely didn't have to do any of that. They spoke on the phone often and it really made his life special. 22 years later I ended up being dx with two primary cancers squamous cell carcinoma that spread to my bones (terminal) and endometrial cancer. I was 43 year's old and given 12 months in Dec 2017. I had less than 1% chance of remission and less than that for survival for 3 years and somehow I made it to remission even though most of my life is in bed which is very hard for me because I've always been a runner and loved outdoors like surfing, dancing, gymnastics etc but I think to myself I still get to hear new music every day which back then you didn't unless you went to the record store and listened or brave enough to download limewire coming up soon. It just makes you feel a certain way when you're faced with death and life becomes completely different, lyrics change their meaning even if you know that's not what the song is about it no longer matters because it's what's going on in your life right then and that music can literally help you survive the next day. Music is very powerful and I do feel the vibrations can help your mind zone out and help just like getting 6 hours of 3 of the strongest chemo medicines at one time. We are not making it out of life alive so no matter what's thrown at you add long as you can find an outlet to help you make it to the next day you're doing something amazing when fighting death.

There are few that can encompass, collaborate, and expand with humility. Ed encapsulates growth, art and life in one breathe. Tones of the past, mixtures of the present, so open and honest. I personally feel proud, and blessed to have followed him and pearl Jam since 1991. From TOTD to the different benefit concerts, to the evolution of PJ, to EV on his own, from harmonicas to ukes to soundtracks. Inspiring to say the least. He always seems to quantify and qualify .. love. I am a life long fan and forever better for Eds and PJs contribution to humanity. This interview is one of the best. Easy and real. Absolutely agree with Bruce about the Tom Petty sound on Long Way. But it makes perfect sense with Eddies wisdom that sometimes we write what we need to hear. More so than any other artist recently, Tom Petty's loss is heard in music today. It was too soon for him and his music had flourished through generations of people providing a soundtrack to almost 40 years of music listeners. Undeniably distinctive voice that you know as soon as you hear it. His songwriting style was equally as distinctive as Eddie has proven with Long Way. Not my favorite on the album, thats Good and Evil (could've been on Vitalogy), but an amazing song on an amazing album.

I heard some Roxy Music in Invincible. I simply cannot say enough about Bryan Ferry. I never realized what an influential guy he was until very recently. Of course just seeing Eddie and Bruce shoot the shit about all of this is amazing in the first place (I am a diehard Bruce Fan), but I have Bryan Ferry on my brain right now after seeing Mother of Pearl.

Pearl Jam has a place among legends because their songs speak to generations to come. Timeless. Eddie you're the man

On my bucket list, see Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters... well, given circumstances that's pretty damn improbable... oh well....
I build and play 3 string cigar box guitars (I can even play a few PJ tunes... after a fashion), it's been a dream of mine to give Eddie one ... we'll see...
I was having a difficult morning... this conversation was exactly what I needed to see and hear!!! ❤❤❤ Thank you, Eddie Vedder Channel!!

I know you’re talking about the artists in the room, but when I read it, I read it as the decor in the actual room having more talent than all current pop artists, and you’d still be correct haha.

Love the album, but until hearing the background for The Haves, it was one of the weaker songs for me. Now knowing how it came about, it holds much more power

When I was 13 and my world fell apart, I found Pearl Jam unplugged and the rest of them and grunge- the intense presence of their moral compass- was what I had instead of my family and stability. Thanks for being such great moral, ethical role models back in '93 and eversince ❤ I'm off to listen to this album now 😁👍
