- Maverick phantom xt and xb brushless converted speed runs are they better than the carnage and is it a better beginner option? apologies for the shaky footage in places camera was having a bad day.

Good video. I've done the same to my Phantom XT plus my FTX Zorro and Vantage. Used too high a KV motor in my XT and it does occasionally cog and stutter. Went for 2200KV in the two FTX cars and they perform much more smoothly now. I did make the mistake of running 3S as the Surpass Hobby literature said the ESC and motor combo was 3S compatible but that was a mistake and ended in a melt down lol
I've not had an ESC meltdown yet I kind of want to experience it I guess that makes me a bit weird.lol
Impressive for homebrew cars! I'm tempted to get the FTX Vantage 2 from Timetunnel and brushless it. Have you a link for the esc and motor combos? FTX Vantage 2 seems similar to your Phantom XB. You cost me too much £££!!
I think the ftx vantage 2 would be a better buggy it’s got better adjustment. there should be a link to the motor in the description it’s a racer star from Banggood cheap and came pretty quick. It’s the same one I put in the wltoys 104009.
Hi mate can I put a 3s in my standard brushless carnage or do I need hardened spur and pinion....or anything else upgraded or can I just chuck a 3s in there and off I go?
What servo did you use for the phantom xt? Searching for one that will fit without mods

The carnage needs it brakes turning down, its well worth buying the esc program card.
I know, it's a bit like throwing a ships anchor out the back. 😂 Does ftx have its own program card?

It only cogged a little bit so I just lived with it.

What motor are you running? Mine was because I put the big wheels on it was fine with the standard ones.
You could try putting a smaller pinion gear on.
@@noobrccars4392 it is 1/10 truck with goolrc 3650 3900kv and wheels arent very big 15t pinion
Ive just built it for son first time as was 550 cogging noise at start bare with just worried about motor getting hot

your buggys gear mesh sounds to tight.. my ears might be tricking me but sounds a little ruff
