Wow, I would have never thought that was Axel in the very last clip. Understandably, he's battled through a lot but to be able to hear the subtle changes throughout this video and it ended with that, really blew my mind. I'm grateful for the years where it was a simple summer day going down the road with my Dad in his little red pickup (R I P) listening to Appetite for Destruction. Those are the memories I will forever cherish 🎉
Ever since watching the AC/DC live recordings with Axl fronting, I have been convinced that he used what remained of his voice for them. Along with age and over 3 whole decades of screeching the way he did, I think those performances finally did him in.
It's nice when you think you need to make a somewhat obvious point to defend him, but then you read the comments and have this warm feeling of unity in music history appreciation. I'm happy that I'm not the only one who appreciate the fact that it is amazing to see them still playing and him trying to always hit those notes.
To everyone whining about his voice, he's 62 years old, and of course he can't sing as well as used to. That being said, he's still giving it his all at every show, and tickets are reasonably priced. GNR isn't charging an arm and a leg for a seat like Bon Jovi; who's voice is now horrendous.
Age is not the main factor in the deterioration a voice. If it were then singers like Paul Rogers wouldn't be singing better now in his 70s than he did in his 20s. Life style, alcohol/drug abuse, amount of touring, lack of sleep, diet, vocal injuries incurred due to the above... these are all factors. To say "of course he can't sing as well now, he's 62" is not correct.
@@davidphilipsmusic Whatever caused it, GNR is still not charging people an arm and a leg to attend their shows, and they're still filling stadiums and arenas.
Chris Cornell was able to keep his range. Others have too. Axl didn't take care of himself. He spent 14 years letting himself go. Then 8 years trying to get surgery to fix the damage. Probably had a secret liver and kidney transplant during that time. Celebrities get to go to the front of the donor list. Sleazy lifestyle caught up to him in 1995. He completely unraveled.
Considering his severe depression, addictions, and lifestyle, his voice still rocks. Thank you for the perfect compilation and editing. Hopefully, GNR's crazy publishers won't launch a copyright strike on your channel. Great job, thank you!
I saw them in the winter of 1991 and to this day it was one of if not the greatest show Ive ever seen. He will forever go down as an all time rock icon

Axl Rose was able to sing from an F1 all the way up to a Bb6. That is 5 octaves and 5 semitones. It is absolute incredible range. This is on par with singers like Mariah Carey, Prince and just below Mike Patton, who can sing six octaves. His talent was very intriguing.
Its funny usually these rock stars voices age pretty well and they actually sound better and more refined with age. I saw the Eagles in 15 right before Glen Frey passed. They were in their 70s and they sounded fantastic. Axls voice definitely hasn't aged well he sounded much better when he was younger. No matter how he sounds he will always be one of my favorite singers and GNR one of my all time favorite bands.
@@ryansmurda1552The likely answer is he didn’t use the proper technique to maintain his vocals and with the addition of his life styles of drugs and smoking, it’s surprising that his iconic voice lasted that long.
I mean it’s a compilation that specifically focus on his voice evolution, so there’s nothing cruel about it, it’s just reality… voice changes, and for rock singers it’s almost never for good. Obviously this compilation focuses on the upper register of his voice because it’s the one part of his voice that has evolved during the years, his lower register is basically the same as 40 years ago. This doesn’t mean that now he’s a bad singer, he just can’t reach those high notes in a powerful way, resulting in the not so pleasing “mickey mouse” voice. That’s why even if already had two opportunities in the last 2 years, I didn’t buy the ticket (and all the nostalgia about them being them even though all the years doesn’t get me…guns n roses ended in 1996 period.)
I am just happy & grateful to have been the gifts that Appetite of Destruction & Use Your Ilusion I & II, & got to experience Guns & Axel in all his glory in concert 2x in the early 90's

Axl & I are 62 years old. I'm about 6 months younger than he is. There's tons of things that I can't do anymore or do as well as I could when I was younger. It's good that he disappears for a while and takes breaks. It's necessary for his physical and mental health. He lost some weight and is taking better care of himself. Look at guys like Paul McCartney, still performing at age 82. I sure hope we can have Axl with us for another 20 years...
Awesome unique voice! One of a kind and it does not even matter if it so called changed! Has it really ? Perhaps a little ! But he was always everywhere with his vocals! Axle can sing even now ! "evolution" - thanks for the video. saw them last year and the greatest thing on stage was axls ego, sounding like a vacuum cleaner. but i have to respect that they played like three hours!
Just seen them live and he sounded great. Awesome concert! Definitely would love to see them again.
Attended their concert back in 2017.. it was 3hrs+ long with hardly any breaks in between at their age was awesome
Compilation outstanding. Sometimes axl sounds incredible, some a bit less so. Never mind, he is still the favorite in my book.
I saw them at hersheypark on the 11th and he sounded great. 61 years old and killed it
Wow, I would have never thought that was Axel in the very last clip.
Guns n roses was the very first concert I ever went to this year! He did is a lot older but still killed it!
Hands 🙌 to whoever made this perfect selection
Forever axl n guns n roses will be my child memories
Ever since watching the AC/DC live recordings with Axl fronting, I have been convinced that he used what remained of his voice for them.
Along with age and over 3 whole decades of screeching the way he did, I think those performances finally did him in.
1987 ia still the best.Always love AXL.-always
Thanks for loving GUNS N’ ROSES
I love you ❤️
It's nice when you think you need to make a somewhat obvious point to defend him, but then you read the comments and have this warm feeling of unity in music history appreciation. I'm happy that I'm not the only one who appreciate the fact that it is amazing to see them still playing and him trying to always hit those notes.
Impossível envelhecer com a mesma voz , AXL É FODA 🤘🏼🔥
Absolutely, jon bon jovi is struggling too! This is a fate of great rock singers.
Vai ouvir o Tyler do Aerosmith. Tem como sim.. eh que o axl não cuidou tanto assim da voz
E olha q o Steven Tyler eh 13 anos mais velho
Bryan Adams mandou abraço
@@davidphilipsmusic They built their foundation on being a working class band, and they are still catering to the working class.
Hey I just saw him in October in san Antonio an he still great God bless him
Se escucha claramente el cambio hacia menos de su voz sobre todo hacia finales de la década de 2000!!!
Considering his severe depression, addictions, and lifestyle, his voice still rocks. Thank you for the perfect compilation and editing. Hopefully, GNR's crazy publishers won't launch a copyright strike on your channel.
Great job, thank you!
2:14 That is not 2014. One woman in that crowd has an iPhone 8 Plus. iPhone 8 Plus was released in 2017.
Very observant, I was to busy reading the comments.......😂
I saw them in the winter of 1991 and to this day it was one of if not the greatest show Ive ever seen. He will forever go down as an all time rock icon
It's worth noting this video ends in '22 when he was struggling to bounce back after COVID, his voice has reportedly got better since.
So amazing, he was my high school days music, loved him
Greatest singer of all time.....
He already gave what he has to give.
Freddy Mercury.
young voice to old voice. love
October 2022 Montevideo, Uruguay. 3 hours non stop. Amazing. 🇺🇾
Who would have thought someone voice would change 36 years later.
doesnt change
its like self wounding
he doesnt want to hurt it 2023
Im just amazed these guys are all still alive. Nevermind how good they sound or not.
88 was the time, they took the death of metal and used it to their advantage , but they saved rock when no one else could be Fd
LEGEND ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for loving GUNS N’ ROSES
I love you ❤️
I got to see them in 1992 when I was 22 with floor seats. Ohhh the memories
Eagles never sang and screamed they way GNR did
@@SolaceVaina Thats true. All those years of screaming is probably what did it.
@@ryansmurda1552The likely answer is he didn’t use the proper technique to maintain his vocals and with the addition of his life styles of drugs and smoking, it’s surprising that his iconic voice lasted that long.
I can't imagine a voice that powerful lasting as long as it has. The man has an iconic voice. Too bad we all have to get older.
This was cruel, putting all the high notes for when his voice is at its absolute weakest. Tbh, his best live years were 1986 then 2006-2010
I mean it’s a compilation that specifically focus on his voice evolution, so there’s nothing cruel about it, it’s just reality… voice changes, and for rock singers it’s almost never for good.
@@andreatelini2415 Reality can still be cruel, none of what you said goes against what I said. It’s how it is, I’m not denying that.
@@badgasaurus4211 i mean There are things in life that are cruel for real... I wouldn't use that word in this situation 😅
@@andreatelini2415 They’re certainly cruel to listen to
@@badgasaurus4211 wait what 😂
Super like Axel Rose, before and after, legend now and forever. Sentational performance. So cute❤
My fav group since I was a teenager love axl
I am just happy & grateful to have been the gifts that Appetite of Destruction & Use Your Ilusion I & II, & got to experience Guns & Axel in all his glory in concert 2x in the early 90's
Muito obrigado Guns N , Roses por ter nos proporcionado musica de qualidade , a voz claro não é a mesma de 35 anos atrás, mas uma das melhores bandas de todos os tempos
How on earth is he singing two notes, one octave apart, at the same time in the beginning of the video? Don't tell me those are harmonics!
If you are asking about the two parts in the beginning, one was from 1987, and the other was from 1988. Axl has a crazy vocal range :)
He’s still trying his best. It’s very hard to get his style of vocals down. Even Axl can’t really imitate Axl. He was that damn good in his prime
1988 is the best one..definetly
He still sounds good. I mean he is in his 60s now. That fact he's still doing it at all is great.
Slash is still great 👍👍👍
And Duff
Thanks for loving GUNS N’ ROSES
I love you ❤️
Pity Axle ain't shit now
Slash plays the guitar, not his voice. No reason to still not be great
@@angusrock83
Arthritis could limit your playing ya know...
What an evolution of an iconic singer.
E guitarra continua bombando
Awesome unique voice! One of a kind and it does not even matter if it so called changed! Has it really ? Perhaps a little ! But he was always everywhere with his vocals! Axle can sing even now ! These are live performances and I still hear that passion in his voice in later years. From I am witnessing is that AR is still singing his stuff and he is still very good so is GAR !
Sorrily every good thing comes to an end.
I thought the same. Everything ends.
He sure will stay on the records of the best metal singers that ever existed till the end of humanity.
Thank you, Axel! Awesome!
01:29 is 2006 yr !
And after not 2014 it's 2018 but video is good
Live at the Ritz88 is still my favorite show of gnrs , definitely a top notch performance
His voice now perfect suit to AC/DC than GNR, His sing GNR like mickey.
