Thank you for a very useful tutorial..I bought a used Sony RX100 online and tried to learn How to transfer videos from my camera to my iPhone 6 so I watched other tutorial videos and bought the lightning to USB camera adapter but didn’t work ... so I came to your video and you mentioned about formatting the memory card .. I did that and omg tried video transfer and was successful ...love the way you teach it’s clear and perfect👍 thanks again and stay safe❤️

AF-C and 'tracking expand flexible spot" seems to work really well. Once I focus, I can recompose, and it keeps that point more or less over my intended focal point. Pretty neat.

I don't usually write comments but on this one i was compelled to. I must say that what a good fortune it is that a page like yours exists on youtube. I bought this camera recently and was desperate to learn all the things so that i could fully utilize all the benefits of this beautiful machine. Now instead of mountainous and time consuming task of reading everything in the manual all i had to do was watch this one hour video. Best way to learn and i also like how you setup a huge tv in the back for headings. By the way i love the way you deliver your speech, clear and precise.

One more hint: Flip the flash with your left index finger upwards so it will fire at a ceiling. The result may be way more pleasing than direct flash.

I just received my Sony RX100 VII and your tutorial came in handy. I just came back from a trip in the Antelope Arizona and instead of taking photos with a DSLR, I ended up just using my iPhone because the tour was going so fast, so a powerful pocket camera would have been really handy. Therefore, I decided to buy the Sony RX100 VII (instead of a mirrorless camera) which is great when traveling plus there is a great tutorial video(yours) to help me figure out on how to use and navigate the menu :) :) :).. Actually I watched this tutorial before I decided to buy the camera... and I am watching it again. Thanks

The rx100 v was the very first mirrorless camera that I bought and besides from teaching me how to take photos, I have taken stunning photos that most people would think came out of a DSLR. IMO, the old f1.8-f2.8 is much better suited for the 1" sensor than the new zoom lens.

Thank you! Thank you! I'm an enthusiast full-frame Canon user, but rushed out yesterday to get the RX100 VII (it's got 99% of what I want in a compact grab & go travel camera). However, I found that learning the new system was a bit intimidating -- and the lack of tutorials disappointing. I woke up this morning to find your wonderful overview. Relief was instantaneous! Thank you! Thank you! (Now I can pocket carry a high-quality camera into all those U.T. Longhorn sporting events that won't allow you to bring in your big "professional" camera. Yeah!)

Another way to turn on the camera, just to review photos, is to press the Play button on the back. That way you can look at your pictures without activating the lens every time.

I've had this camera for 5 yrs. I hate it. The pictures are nice, but I hate all of the buttons and functions. Needless to say, I am a point-and-shoot kind of person. I use it once a year probably. I learn a few things to allow me to take photos on a trip and then put it away. Next year, I have to learn all over. I hate it, hate it, hate it. Just deleting photos feels like the worst pain I can imagine. There I said it! Thank you for the quick review, I hated it, but it was helpful. LOL

I have this camera and love it. There is however one big frustration for me. When you want to take a selfie, The shutter speed, ISO and f-stop
are all covered up on the bottom of the screen when you flip it up because it doesn't go high enough. Why couldn't they make the screen so when you flipped it up, you could see the bottom info bar? It's basically impossible to see your settings.
What a rookie mistake they made with this

The micro HDMI is very useful. Get a HDMI to USB adapter and you have a very capable camera for live streaming or an ultra high quality Webcam. If 1080p30 is enough you can get such adapters for $20. If you power it via USB the camera can do that for hours and it will keep your face in focus very reliably.

Little tip, the temperature in your specific area matters a lot to that, so keep in mind to check if the camera isnt too hot after 60 minutes, and then check every 10 minutes if its not get to hot .
      I filmed 1hour and 20 minutes ,
Unfortunately you can only run the camera when the battery is inside(while using a cable) , so that part will get most hot.

Thank You! My RX100 VII is coming tomorrow, and this helps greatly with the menus, even though I'm already familiar with the Sony A6000.

Got a question. My RX100VII is in full battery but when I flip the screen for selfie, it seem to show the battery is down to 1 red bar. It's in auto mode but showing a "macro" logo on the screen. Does anyone know why the battery is doing that? Thanks!

Hi Tony. What is the title of the book you mentioned in this video?

Great review but one quibble. I don't think my camera's rear screen has ever blinded anyone in the club, not that I would ever bring this camera into a club given the slow lens.

My only issue is you can’t see the screen with sunglasses on (if polarized).

I have a RX100M7, brand new, but I can’t get the monitor to come on. I can only use the viewfinder to take photos and view my shots. How do I get the monitor display to come on?

Excellent review!!! Congratullations! One question that I've: What is the resolution of the pictures at 200mm? Can't find this information. Thanks in advance for your time and care.

The zoom is optical up to 200mm, so the resolution is 20.1Mp at the optimum aspect ratio, which I believe is 3:2. Top resolution is less for 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios. Past 200mm, digital zoom kicks in, and the resolution drops.

Does real-time eye AF works on AF mode? In Sony official video, it seems working. Thanks.
