But Uncle Solomon didn’t even try to to help Sebastian understand why it wasn’t a good thing to use dark magic.
Instead he just yells and gets angry.
    So I’m not surprised.
With no real guidance in this field if you will, Sebastian seems to be in a state of spiraling out of control because to him, it feels like everyone is just giving up on his sister and wants him to give up too.
He refuses to and so leads to his actions.
But if his uncle had given him more guidance rather than just yelling at him, maybe Sebastian could’ve come to a better solution to this.
Or at least, showed him better ways and better branches of magic to explore instead of immediately exploring dark magic.
    That’s my thoughts on it.
It is exactly as you said: tragic.

      No, I agree with you.
With all the things I said about Solomon, what you said also makes sense.
Solomon was just trying to stop seb by yelling and scolding.
Instead if he had tried to stop seb and showed him effects of dark arts then maybe the whole outcome would've been different. (Or maybe his uncle did behind the scenes but sub was too young and reckless to know, we never know what things happened between seb and his uncle from the period of whenever their parents died, to when and got cursed few yrs ago, and till the beginning of the game).
But as i say in the video, seb is product of situations around him.
Even if one situation was different then seb would've been as well.
In this case if Solomon had done things differently with seb then outcome would've been different as well.
Hope you enjoyed the video 🤠

Dude we have no idea what he did or didn’t do. The MC is an outsider who’ve only seen their interactions a couple of times. And in that first interaction he did explain that they’ve already tried everything they could. What other magic could there possibly have been? And I mean magic they knew about. Unknown magic is dangerous and could’ve made things worse. Like dark magic or the ancient magic we use.
And Dark magic should’ve never been an option for Sebastian. It’s unstable and unknown and it ultimately led to Sebastian losing everything because he couldn’t control himself.
Not to mention his SISTER flat out says she wants Sebastian to stop. But he just ignores her wishes. If anyone, he should’ve at least listened to her. It’s her body. If she doesn’t want to find a cure anymore, he should’ve respected that. And in the end, she was right.
He did something unforgivable because he didn’t know when to stop.
Honestly, I don’t think we should’ve had to explain why raising the dead is bad and that it should’ve ended when he found out what the artifact could do. Like, does he really want something like that being used on his sister? Don’t get me wrong tho. I don’t like how Solomon handled things. He was absolutely a jerk. But he knows more about dark magic than any of them did. Part of me believed that his search into dark magic was also partly selfish, because HE wanted to know more about dark magic.

@@SusanaCanales1 honestly, yes the Mac had only seen Solomon’s reaction a couple times, but that’s honestly no excuse for him not trying to give Sebastian more than just dark magic to focus on.
In all honesty him just being closed off could very well be as simple as Sebastian wanting to go towards the dark arts, but it doesn’t seem that way.
But by the looks of what we did see, Sebastian was just trying to find a solution when all else had failed and started spiraling out of control.
His uncle didn’t help him at all, instead berating him for it instead of possibly trying to help him start away.
Perhaps we will never fully understand the truth on their relationship, but just from what little we do see it’s Lear his uncle didn’t do everything to steal him away from the dark arts.
At least that’s how it came off to me.
It could very well come off differently to others, but that is the beauty of these kinds of stories.
We all get something different out of it.

The only issue I have with Sebastian killing his uncle is he managed it before I did. That lunatic was using lethal spells against two students, one of them his nephew. A trained ex-Auror, and the guy was using columns of flame against us.
Blown apart by bombarda, cut in two by Diffendo, or 'noped' out of existence by Avada Kedavra makes no difference to me. It was either us or him. He showed no signs of stopping.

The problem with this game, for me, the main story has me having the ability to use ancient magic, learning pain can be removed at a price and a side quest about your classmate's sister in severe pain, but no option to explain the process to Anne to remove it. I'm a writer, so this confuses me.

And i do agree with the fact that it would have been really good if we had option to heal anne.
Yes they could've raised stakes such as if we aren't careful we might remove anne's ability feel any pain(afterall we do see it happening with isadora's father)
A lot of loose threads that need tying up.

I dont think that would have worked. Isidoras father pain was emotional, while Annes pain was physical. And the only one who couldve told us more was Rookwood and we killed him. And no,we never used our Ancient Magic on Anne, even tho we were supposed to discuss with the Keepers about that, which again never happened. And no, Sebastian never forced us into anything. If u remember he went alone into the catacombs at the quest where he killed Solomon. This game shouldve been much bigger and there are hints for that but bcs of time they scratched out many things such as: Isidors portrait where we would finally talk to her, the Gaunt mansion where we were supposed to go for a quest, romance options, the part where the MC talks to the Keepers about her power its usage. Bcs in the end we still dunno wtf that power its doin. Yes we see traces of Ancient Magic but then what? Im sure that the power was meant for greater things but yea

I wondered if I would have done the same at that moment and I never found the answer. But one thing is certain. Solomon abused Sebastian psychologically for a long time and above all Anne was all that remained of his family, his childhood and was the closest person to him. Solomon has tried in every way to get Anne away from Sebastian, manipulating her and much more. Besides, Solomon had absolutely no problem trying to kill us during the duel. Imagine you’re in that situation. after all the sacrifices made for the relic. All he had at the time was anger and sadness. Solomon could have argued, understood, talked and instead he immediately destroyed the relic without thinking about what it would cause and then as if all the situation wasn't enough he started to attack us to kill us and in any case would ruin our lives. He's the toxic character par excellence so I totally understood Sebastian’s vision. He was attacking us. He would kill one of his best friends, and all would be fair to Solomon. After a person has ruined your life and continues to do...so I understand Sebastian and his point of view.

Trust me if magic would have existed along with these curses...Oh boy, the world woulve ended up in one or two years bcs everyone does or say things when they r furious and revengeful. Ah! Another problem Sebastian faces in his quest to find a cure for Anne was that he didn’t have the right allies to help him

Not Ominis his best friend who deeply hates dark magic because of his family’s obsession

Solomon attacked the inferi behind Sebastian and then took the relic. Sebastian then got angry and attacked Solomon who deflected the attack.
If Solomon destroyed the relic first the inferi would have attacked. Unless you consider using accio to take the relic as assault, Sebastian attacked first.

Questions that need to be asked
    1. Solomon back story... why did he leave the ministry? What happened to give him this level of PTSD, which probably the core cause of his willingness to give up on braking Anne curse.
    2. What really drove a wedge between Solomon and his brother? I personally think that is key to understanding Solomon.
    3. Will letting Sebastian of the hook allow him to do it again?

Sebastian is a 15 year old boy who wants to help his sister, but being that his only real supervision were 2 other 15 year old children who unless your character is a manipulative little turd, are not mature enough to handle the situation….
And when the one real authority figure is like-a 40 year old man who’s first instinct is to…scold and basically disown Sebastian rather than try and properly communicate with him.
And while Sebastian did technically attack first, his attack was the equivalent of pushing a family member in an argument. He’s 15, not very good at impulse control.
And then his authority figure does make it ten times worse by attacking him as Inferie are also attacking us.

Ominis states that Sebastian's parents died due to their Recklessness. He goes on to explain that they (Sebastian's Parents) were studying in the basement (With all their books), and due to a Faulty Lantern a Toxic Gas killed them. I'm sorry y'all but Solomon just pushing this angry hatred towards Sebastian and bringing up his dead parents whenever dark magic or anything he disapproved of was involved when in reality it was just a damned gas leak that killed them is just inexcusable. Solomon is not a good person and I think Sebastian ended up the way he did because of his influence. Aside from that I do believe Sebastian got ''seduced'' by the dark arts at some point and it changed him, twisting what was left of his good nature into something bad. Seriously this game should be remade a bit because there are clearly more options than the ones we got presented with.

And I bet Sebastian’s anger grew so he chose this option because at this moment he thought that the goblin cursed her sister so,.. there you go.

  • @angelnumber444life
    @angelnumber444life หลายเดือนก่อน

For me, Solomon lead Sebastian to go deeper into the dark path. And why people in the comments are acting like they’re some saints, people are not perfect! And especially a fictional written 15 yo character. I’m sick of comments that say he manipulated everyone and was toxic.
We, as 15 year olds along with Sebastian, Ominis and Anne are handling this incredibly hard situation, and a 40 year old adult figure that was supposed to be Solomon first’s instinct is to yell at a child and be aggressive? Not to mention he didn’t show sympathy to Sebastian not even once, so why people are pointing out that "Sebastian is only one who has problems with Solomon" when Solomon is literally abusing him emotionally because he has hope and believe to save his sister? Sooo actually, I do too have a problem with him.
Solomon not even once tried to speak to Sebastian with love and understanding, because the truth is that the curse affected Sebastian more than Anne herself because she accepted it and Sebastian didn’t.
And I’m tired of these "umm you have to meann itt when it comes to unforgivables" There is a difference between WANT and DESIRE. You may want something at the moment and then regret it and stop wanting it after it has been done or when you see the consequences. That’s human nature. A desire is something you truly want and pursue in order to achieve it.
In the imperio case, no, he couldn’t accio the goblin or use depulso, because the goblin would attack anyway and if not Anne, he would for sure have killed someone else and who knows? More people. So he got what he himself was about to do. Sebastian chose the quicker option, and besides his anger was bloating since at this moment we all thought that the goblin was the one who cursed Anne, so as a 15 yo kid he let his impulsive side win, same as the killing curse case. It was an impulse, because Sebastian is a 15 yo kid, who may suck at it.
Sebastian did attack first, but it was totally more like pushing someone when you got into a family fight. Then Solomon gets mad and starts attacking us. It was either him or us. He showed no signs of stopping a fight, but kept going. Instead of helping us defeat the inferi, he firstly attacked us.

He once said he wants his sister back and referred to the Anne we see cursed as "not my sister." He wants his sister to be the sister he once knew. Healthy and happy.
He also tries to gaslight you after killing Solomon. Solomon attacked the inferi behind Sebastian and then took the relic using accio. I think more than anything he's trying to gaslight himself. He's trying to justify his actions to himself, because he's probably overwhelmed by the guilt he's feeling, so he's trying to self soothe in any way he can. I've done it before myself, I did something bad so I told myself things like "yeah i did a bad thing, but I was just defending myself, they came at me first, what was I supposed to do?". Sebastian did a lot of bad things and he can't handle the guilt of the consequences, so he does the biggest mental gymnastics to convince himself he's not a bad person, he had no choice but to do it

I’ve never felt so disconnected from my character in a supposedly “RPG”.
I wanted to shut him down after he completely discarded Ominis’s suffering while entering the scriptorium a nearly getting us killed for entering there (it was his idea). Also I wanted to shut him down after he literally insulted me for even talking to a Goblin.
Also, there should have been the choice for the player to agree at all times with Ominis and never support Sebastian’s lustful research for dark power. Instead, the MC is a complete jerk without any sort of option for the player to be so or not.
This guy’s the worst type of psycho criminal friend who thinks sweet talking and blaming others for his selfish desires (everyone including Anne told him to stop) will get him unpunished from facing the consequences of his awful actions.
And yes I freaking sent him to where a potencial murderer should be, murderer always state with only one “justified” kill.
In the end of the day: Anne is still sick, Solomons is dead, Anne is left unprotected and alone… Sebastian accomplished nothing but to be a criminal.

He's a 15 yr old whos raised by rough situations around him.
      Anne's sick
      Solomon is dead
And there's no onle left to tale care of her.
I felt that showing only Sebastian's side wouldn't be fare
We need solomon's and anne side in all of this. So i tried to cover them all

Please, just how emotionless can u be? Ominis couldvd very easily refuse to guide us to the Scriptorium. Its not like he took the Crucio for us or Sebastian. So pls dont transform him into an angel. And yes Annes still sick and ALONE in ur case, bcs guess what? You sent her brother to Azkaban the place that someone like him should NOT be in since thats not an opportunity for him to heal his soul! About the "ignorant" thing i understood where he was coming from. He felt betrayed and he taught that we're playin things behind his back. But ofc there r selfish ppl that wont understand that bcs all they know is " me, me, me" Oopty-Doo! He apologised, move on! About Dark Arts, Sebastian wasnt usin them to cure Anne when we met him. In fact he was usin harmless solutions such as shrivelwing, but of course Solomon-the abuser, always had something to say. Gee, i wonder why? Also the fact hes an Ex-Auror and didnt part well with the Ministry doesnt makes you question things? Of course not! Otherwise you wouldnt have been writtin those stuff! And about murder, we also killed Rookwood and Fig was like " Azkaban who?" but again ure only seein what u want to see. Now tell me..Do u like Draco or Tom Riddle? Or any other villain and anti-hero? I wann ses how far ur hypocrisi goes! P.S. Anne told him to stop just bcs Solomon brainwashef her into believing otherwise.

Now that's one heated response 😬
Did i personally send seb to azkaban in my playthrough...?
No. And for the exact same reason you mentioned. Solomon is dead and anne needs seb.
I'm not saying seb was always user of dark arts, nor am i saying Solomon's actions were the best or anything
I was just trying to put on some perspective on why he's acting the way he is.
It is true that I may be seeing only what i wanna see, and it is also true that so is the case for everyone.
I'm not saying I'm right but that is how i see it.
That's the beauty of these kinda stories, everyone finds something different out of them.

Seems that this went out of control, oh well:
1.- “Ominis is not an angel, and very well could’ve denied guiding us to the scriptorium”. Yeah, that’s correct, he’s by no means an angel (typical Gaunt who’s not afraid to resort to nepotism), but like I said, the MC is a complete jerk who manipulates him into acquiring a posture he doesn’t have, only to obtain something. Sebastian very well told a stranger (the MC) about his best friend’s secret past because he well knew the MC was persuasive, and thus he would use Ominis’s past against him to manipulate him. Who on earth reveals his best friend’s past to a newcomer/stranger?! Even knowing it still haunted Ominis. Truth is Sebastian has no concerned how he uses his friends’ pasts and weaknesses if that means he can work his way out. If a “friend” was gossiping about and revealing secrets of my past to a stranger… I’d immediately cut him off forever.
2.- “Anne is alone because you sent her brother to Azkaban” Like… that is no one but Sebastian’s fault! If a person with a terminal disease has an only relative, and that relative commits a crime, don’t tell me that the police will not arrest that criminal because he’s the only person the ill has. This is worse in this case because Anne ALREADY had an adult guardian to look after her: Solomon, whose murderous nephew killed in cold blood (we’ll get to that later). ***
3.- “Azkaban is not a place to heal his soul” Like… I know: a jail is meant for THAT, not for kindergarten children. Azkaban is a place where people like Rookwood, Voldemort, Bellatrix: murders, rapers, torturers, users of the DARK ARTS, etc must be… that’s kind of the point.
4.- “I understood that he called us (the player) ignorant, he feels betrayed”. Honestly… I worry about your perception of life, you have to be highly masochist to think someone is justified to insult/hurt you just because boohoo he’s sad and also he’s an angel because he apologized, like really?! ABUSIVE and toxic friends like Sebastian show no remorse in hurting his friends, and that’s always the case of an abusive friendship where the abused friend must go away. And like in every abusive friendship, Sebastian wants to keep the victim (Ominis/the MC) close via an apology, so he can keep up the abuse.
5.- “All you know is me-me-me” I think that perfectly fits Sebastian’s description, he’s a dam giver: He gives a dam about Ominis and his trauma, he gives a dam about everyone’s opinions and pieces of advise, he gives a dam about Anne’s wishes to cease his hopeless research, he gives a dam about his promises to Ominis, he gives a dam about the MC’s journey and his relationship with the keepers (to the point of trying to turn the player against them), he gives a dam about the rules, he gives a dam about his consequences, he gives a dam about his uncle, he gives a dam about Feldcroft and his people (which he puts in danger while summoning inferi)… clearly he’s the utterly selfish, and only cares for his goals and uses people for his own ends, and thinks he knows best from everyone.
6.- “Sebastian wasn’t using dark magic at first” That’s correct, he wasn’t using it in the beginning but that never stopped him from think Salazar Slytherin (a megalomaniac who slaughtered muggles and was a dark wizard himself) and the dark arts (spells sued for torture, murder, will control and countless atrocities) were “COOL”.
Arrived the time, he did try forbidden and illegal magic later.
7.- “but Solomon the abuser had always something to say”. Do people even think about how Solomon decided to look after two children who WERE NOT HIS?! Anne and Sebastian were not Solomon’s problem. If Solomon wanted, he could have left them at an orphanage; and he still decided to. If you enter the house at Feldcroft you can randomly see Solomon brewing potions (no doubt to help Anne’s pain). It always seems to me that Solomon had already had the chat with Sebastian about how dangerous and ILLEGAL the dark arts were, and yet, Sebastian just couldn’t help himself. The wizarding word dictates that if any wizard or witch witness another do an unforgivable they he must report it to the authorities, when Sebastian casts and ILLEGAL spell to a goblin, Solomon could have reported Sebastian to the authorities, and chose not to, which is technically also a crime to cover up for a cast of an unforgivable curse. Solomon could have gone to jail for turning a blind eye on his nephew casting illegal spells and he took the risk.
8.- “The fact that he’s an ex-Auror and didn’t part well from the ministry doesn’t make you question things?” Umm, not really, VERY conveniently the one who says this is Sebastian himself (famous for hating his uncle) who also claims he “thinks” that’s what his sister also thinks… so it’s only a freaking gossip! Sebastian is like the most unreliable narrator of all, he’s biased when it comes to people he dislikes for not enabling his destructive being. That “Solomon didn’t part well from the ministry” is merely an unconfirmed gossip that comes from a person who hates him. And let me ask you… have you ever wondered why complete strangers like Bernard N-Daye (Feldcroft resident) and even the librarian at Hogwarts speak very nicely about him? Bernard actively tells the MC that the entire Feldcroft is in mourning and devastated for Solomon’s death. Everybody seems to like Solomon except for Sebastian -what a surprise-. I bet the real reason to why Solomon quit his job was precisely to look after two kids that weren’t his.
9.- “Fig went Azkaban who when you kill Rookwood” I seriously have no idea how you can even compare killing a criminal dark wizard -who has taken many lives- to killing an innocent old man, honestly… there’s something very wrong with you by even making such comparison. Still… the circumstances are very different: the MC kills Victor Rookwood with an expelliarmus -legal spell- that deviated Rookwood’s killing curse (much like Harry killed Voldemort), Sebastian -on the other hand- actively used an illegal spell whose only outcome is to inflict death upon a person.
10.- “Do you like Draco, Tom Riddle, or any other villain or anti-hero?” Ummm… no, I don’t specifically like Draco nor Tom Riddle, I think both got what they had coming respectively and are by no means my favorite characters. However I do like other media’s anti-heroes and villains which I can assure you are WAY different from this scenario of Hogwarts Legacy, scenario where Sebastian Sallow is always presented as a martyr, tragic, poor, misunderstood, hero, friend, cool dude and almost and angel to his simps/fans where in reality he’s a blatant murderer, manipulative, abusive and selfish misfit.
*** Talking about point 2: People claim Sebastian killed Solomon in “self defense” but that’s far from truth, you’re lying to yourself by believing that, just LOOK at the scene in the game: When the boss battle ends, the cutscene shows Solomon weakened, having a hard time even walking and almost wandless simply talking, telling Sebastian that his madness needed to stop. Solomon wasn’t even attacking Sebastian, merely defending himself all weakened, and Sebastian maliciously proceeds to throw spells at him until he ultimately casts Avada kedavra on a weakened old man. That’s a straight first degree murder.
He definitely belongs in Azkaban, he could have put his attention and efforts to good use and hear everyone telling him to stop that path, but he chose not: he brought this all upon himself, he and only he is responsible for his incarceration.

Sebastian is a naive 15 year old. However, he is also the ONLY person in the whole game who has a problem with Solomon, manipulates Ominis and the MC the whole game to give him what he wants and doesn’t know when to stop.
He is both mature for his age and exceedingly reckless. He is also old enough to know better.
In the final confrontation, after watching the scene again, Sebastian is the one who fires the first spell. All Solomon did was destroy the relic and Sebastian lashed out in anger.
After the fight is over Solomon is a beaten old man barely able to defend himself and is pleading with Sebastian to stop this madness. Sebastian, as always, isn’t listening and keeps attacking before firing the killing curse.
He seems only to realize what he did after the fact but it only is driven home just how much he screwed up when Anne comes in and destroys everything he was working on, effectively destroying any chance (in his mind) for a cure herself.
If the MC agrees with him Sebastian justifies killing his uncle, and if he disagrees with him he says he didn’t mean to.
Which is crap. Because what is driven into our skulls every step of the way is that in order to cast an Unforgivable you have to 100% mean it.
Sebastian is a murderer, he’s the toxic friend who manipulates those closest to him to get what he wants and tries to say “I didn’t mean for this to happen” after it’s all gone fubar.
If forgiven he will accept that he was wrong when told that Rookwood cursed Anne and in many ways is even more screwed than if he goes to Azkaban. He’s not welcome home, has no place to go and Anne has no desire to see him again and the school year is about to end.
Sebastian is either going to an orphanage, living on the streets or Azkaban at the end of the game. And it’s all his fault.

I would say part of the blame also falls on poor writing.
Because sometimes when it comes to manipulating, us as main character are doing the heavy lifting. We manipulate ominis because we wish to go scriptorium (or story wishes us to go). That quest to the scriptorium was just meant to be. So we had no option other than manipulating ominis. Rather we don't even do it, game does it itself. That's just poor writing.
Other times when we DO manipulate ominis, is when we are gonna learn the unforgivables.
Don't get me wrong. Im not defending seb's actions. I'm just putting in perspective what might be the reason Sebastian is the way he is.
Seb isn't a perfect character. But he did deliver some of the best things in Hogwarts Legacy.
I would say his story and few other are what made this game worth playing.
Anyways, I just hope you enjoyed the video.
      Have a great day 😀

@@PiXELIGHTofficial Oh, Sebastian definitely had the best content in the game. Leading up to launch I REALLY wanted to explore more with Poppy Sweeting.
Out of the three friends it is obvious Sebastian got the lions share of the attention.
I don't even think the game's problem with the narrative is poor writing so much as we approached it like it's an RPG when it's actually an action-adventure game where we may be able to customize a character but character has a set personality, goals and moral compass and we are just along for the ride.
Yes, it kind of sucks that our character is manipulating Ominis as much as Sebastian is manipulating us, and it seems like there was content cut between us talking to the portraits about the possibility of using ancient magic to help Anne which never happened an an option to go that route never came up.
It's a complicated story and Sebastian is a very nuanced character who truly loves his sister, but he's also incredibly naive, doesn't know when to quit, and is definitely having very, very dark thoughts that most 15 year olds either don't have or don't act on but he does, such as forcing the goblin to commit suicide in front of Anne.
Yes, he stopped the goblin from killing her but he didn't need to do that when he could have had the goblin walk away, disarm itself, fall asleep or whatever else, but know, he goes for death and a potentially painful one at that. He had no problem lying to Ominis as his story went along, he didn't think raising a bunch of the dead was an issue and very much adapted the extreme "if you're not with me you're against me" mindset where unless everyone was 100% in agreement with him then they must want Anne dead or at least don't want her cured.
What he was was a desperate teenager, but fully deserving of going to Azkaban because he is also old enough to know better. Not sending him may be a worse punishment though because he will be forced to see that he was wrong, live in a world where he lost everything and can only blame himself. If he is sent to Azkaban he still maintains the victim mentality where everyone is against him and Anne.

Oh I dont mean poor writing as the story was bad. Story was well nuanced and complex.
What i mean is some of the choices like not giving option to avoid manipulating, or giving option to talk to portraits about curing Anne's curse.
And your comment was one of the deepest insight in the story and character I've read so far in my comments.
