Hickory recently just got recognized by Bloomberg as well. I’m originally from Morganton so I grew up going to Hickory a great deal. I live in Greenville SC now and it’s a nice place too. Aiken is good also. Thank you for watching!
Oh I miss the Hickory area so much! I lived in Taylorsville for a number of years, and worked in Hickory at the community college. I'm in Concord now, but that area will always feel like home to me!

Me and my Fiance live in Hudson so we're only 15mins away from Hickory. We enjoy it because we're only a few minutes drive from Lenoir,Granite falls and Hickory!

Worked for hky pd for 17 years and patrol downtown throughout my career loved this little town!
It is nice… but only used to go downtown to go to the Carolina theater. Went to Hickory a lot growing up, but mostly went to Valley Hills Mall! 😁
Welcome to my town! If you ever want to come back and tour with a local, hit me up! I'm on the downtown development board and I grew up nearby, I know all the secret hole in the wall spots to try. I can also fill you in on the story of "the Miracle of Hickory," as well as the artist behind the mural (we went to school together)

I agree. I like when towns keep the old charm and require new buildings to match what’s already there.
It’s a one horse town that’s a crap hole. There’s nothing to do here. A lot of drugs and homeless people everywhere. I have been assaulted by the homeless just walking downtown. And so have many of my coworkers some at gun point.

@@southernstalwart I lived in hickory for 10 years lol if you ever come through again visit lenoir MY HOME TOWN lol ain’t much here but glad to be home & ain’t in hickory anymore lol …. Main Street is in Lenoir nc … it’s 1st ave in hky … make sure you go to shake N dog too 😋😋 was born in lenoir, moved to Morganton, from there I left the state . Grew up in Pontiac MI … moved back to hickory NC LOL now I’m back in lenoir

Last time I was in Lenoir I went to the Broyhill walking park. I’ll def have to try that restaurant you recommended! Thank you!
