Hey Richie :) I've sampled over 3000 dj sets so far. saved you as one of my fav Djs, thank you for the great sets, i'm now watching tomorrow land 2015, would have loved to be there . great effects n music
I have had the pleasure of seeing him live 5 times and he was better each time! I really want to see his Plastikman performance which I have not had the pleasure yet, he really is one of the best and always will be.
I disagree. He played an extraordinary set in my opinion. Arrived 15 minutes before he went on at the whole sequence surrounding his intro was on a higher level. And his visuals are a whole chapter for it self. The way they integrated and evolved around the music was unlike anything I've seen before. With that said Recondite played one of the best sets I've heard in my life. Was truly hypnotized all the way through and it felt like five minutes had gone by when he played his last track. Matadors intro after Recondite. Wow! From the first track it was just banging and the energy went through the roof. Putting him on after Recondite was a brilliant idea. What a beautiful contrast. After that I went into the Sake room to see how Adriatique was doing and what a job they did. I admit that I had my doubts when I saw they switched Maya Jane Coles out for them, but the vibe they created in that room was out of this world. The stage looked like something from a spaceship and fitted perfectly for the room. Much respect to those guys. Caught the last 30 minutes of Gaiser as well and what an ending. Playing Richies usual spot and delivering like he did deserves a serious amount of applause. He used some visuals of the same style as they used for Richies set last year and it was fucking unbelievable to look at. I salute the one who made those.
Yeah cos cutting the bass every ten seconds is soooo coool, i appreciate the added percussion and synths he puts in, but the frequent random timing of bass cuts is annoying!
was just at a set with a DJ using 2 CDJs and a Behringer mixer and she played fire for 3 hours!! No goofy effects or edits. You don't need all this shit. Just let the music play!
l0l the DJ you saw live was probably inspired to play because of Richie. This guy was spinnin' vinyl on technics before you were even born, Decks EFX & 909, rookie.
That is just one man's opinion, he plays his own style and a lot of people appreciate what he does for this genre so. But nonentheless you do you, he does he right?
he had a few basic loops in Traktor.. used the push to do a couple of hi hats, used the keyboard to play a basic triad note by note... used the modualr synth briefly with pre programed midi from ableton and tweaked only the filter cutoff.. and had a couple of side controllers for a bit of delay and reverb... big deal. show me a Producer (not a DJ) who can run two instances of ableton on two laptops... with one tune loaded in each.. and re-create each tune with two instances of push and a myriad of controllers to change different envelopes.. mix the two tunes together (as they are being re-created)... and we will be seeing someone who can actually utilise current technology.. oh and make sure the tunes have some groove or soul in them rather than a bassy kick drum and a few washed out snares/hats. For a man who's job this is full time, and for a promotional video i would say this is very average. it looks flashy but dont be duped by the gear, use your ears.
Just like you say...it's only a promotional video in wich he demonstrates some of the basic elements of this gear...(in wich another video he explains it nonentheles). Also i'm pretty shure this isn' t his best work, yes. But you can' t deny he is one of second wave techno' s pioneers, and maybe even for electronic music.
I would love to play w you. I got a polymorph w backwards lights & a badass 555 sampler. I used to commute listening to your old plastikman stuff sold $5 million 1 yr real estate in a converted fiero testarossa & a 10 back home for Biltmore area condos. I once met & listened to Bob Moog in the 80s do a small concert at All Souls Church back home. Moog synthesizer company still in Asheville, NC I think too.
Richie is so incredibly good at what he does.
TrueTroll

He was very disappointing Recondite & Julien Jeweil blew the place up!

sorry Deadmau5 - THIS is the best Canadian DJ ever....
Mike McCarthy no, since that he got a lot of fame and money he isn' t anymore...
good thing deadmau5 is a producer & not a dj

sounds a bit messy...
Black and white??!! We are all about LEDs., lights. strobs.. Give us proper video!! FFS, black and white??
Too busy sounding for me
Crackhead dj
he had a few basic loops in Traktor.. used the push to do a couple of hi hats, used the keyboard to play a basic triad note by note... used the modualr synth briefly with pre programed midi from ableton and tweaked only the filter cutoff.. and had a couple of side controllers for a bit of delay and reverb... big deal.

DJ March stop hating bitch
and that's called live performance
And yet he’s made something of himself unlike you
Decks EFX & 909 you'll never be able to produce anything near that in multiple lifetimes l0l.
Tooooo much effekts
Those fx are ok the first couple of times but I would get really bored listening to a whole night with this.
Producer yes. DJ no. Not for me.
I would love to play w you. I got a polymorph w backwards lights & a badass 555 sampler.
