My Neighbor, Charles Ep 136
- Adriana from Ecuador is back again after a year. The couple opened up a café in Ecuador but because of the natural disaster, they faced a great loss and decided to go to Korea. At the time, Adriana wasn’t good at Korean, chores and everything because it was only her 6thmonth in Korea. Also she lived with her brusque father-in-law. After the show, Adriana and her husband moved out of the father-in-law’s house. To add, they got a new family member! It’s their son Sihu. Adriana was having a hard time after her grandfather’s death but her son brought her smile back.

The husband speaks great Spanish! He's such a sweet caring man. He called up his mother in law to help make some of his wife's favorite foods. Love that they both incorporate both cultures into their life.
I like that the husband talks to her in a respectful tone, which is rare among married couples in Korean language

At 33:49 when the narrator is like , “she went to a language school just a year ago, I guess her Korean hasn’t improved much”, I got mad. I mean come on, we can all hear her, and she is so much better than when she first started. Just because she doesn’t know a few words doesn’t mean she hasn’t improved. I expect better from you KBS
Also, Korean is a very difficult language for someone who has only spoken English or a European language, since the words and sentence structures (and many other things) are EXTREMELY different. Honestly, I am really proud of Adrianna’s progress

Adriana's father in law is an excellent person, I've never seen such a nice and understanding father in law like him and Sihu is gorgeous.

Watching her cry made me cry because I know how it feels like when your grandfather, the person you consider your parent is dying. Also, she’s having a hard time, very understandable
Oh she didn’t get to visit her grandpa. He was even saying he doesn’t have much time anymore in the last video. Her grandfather in law and husband are so sweet. They are a great family now completed with Adriana and Siju.

Both the husband and father-in-law are very kind and understanding towards her. It must be scary to be in a place where you can barely understand the language. The father-in-law teaching her korean cultural things, such as cleaning of the house, is so heartwarming. He really wants her to be part of the family and the culture.
I am so impressed by her ability to learn to speak different languages. She can speak Spanish ,English and Korean
She’s so adorable & trying so hard. Learning a 3rd language as an adult has to be really tough and she has a pretty good foundation in Korean. She’ll only improve from here on out ❤️ I just got to the end and omg Sihu is adorable - congratulations!
Aww it's so sweet that both families and the couple strive to learn and speak each other's language. Both sides of the family are very loving.. I feel bad that their business got ruined but I hope Adriana can visit Ecuador more frequently too

Cuando ella estaba hablando con su papá, I started to cry a lot. I love my grandparents and aunt, but they all live in Mexico y me hace tanto falta. Mi Mamá often talks about how she feels sick and lonely. And I wish I could be by her side. I could absolutely relate to how she felt and cried along with her. Estaba tan avergonzada por lo mucho que lloré jaja I don’t even know why I wrote in both Spanish and English

This is so exciting. I’m Ecuadorian and it seems almost rare to find another Ecuadorian person on tv or media since were a small country and have a small population. I wish the best for Adriana💞💞

Why doesn’t she just go back to Ecuador until her grandfather passes in and then move back to Korea. I know that is very hard but it’s so sad when he talked that way.

They should have stayed in Ecuador, they seemed to have had a larger support system (family) over there than in south korea, especially since they would have had a baby sooner or later, and a new mum can use all the help she can get. Poor Adriana, her confinement period must have been a nightmare with only her husband and father in law to assist her 😖

It's good that her in-laws and husband are very understanding of her needs..at least she's got a good support system.Sad about her grandpa tho. ,i remembered that time when i received a phone call from my parents informing me that they're going to take my grandpa out of the respirator i bawled and filed an emer.leave and flew back home immediately. He was able to survive for another 2wks and he even woke up but unable to speak. Then after i return to my job (as i work overseas) he passed away. I felt like he did his best to wait for all of us (his grand children) to come home before he totally rest. Still makes me sad but i know he's in a better place now.

It’s amazing to see how certain things are so new to other people but so normal for you. Canada has the same seasons as Korea I believe except more extreme. Only thing I’ve never seen are many flowers blooming on trees like cherry blossom trees!

I'm Ecuadorian as well (not from Quito) and Ecuador has a very hot climate, and humid on winter (it rains a lot) so we don't experience all of the seasons, I've never seen snow or cherry blossoms or when the trees turn orange in autumn. It makes me happy to see someone from my country making her life over there; because that's what I want to do to; I want to follow my passion over there. Adriana; fighting!~

My husband is korean too. But we are stay in indonesia coz my hubby likes here. Living cost not quite expensive. Culture still problem between us but we are sure that will be solve it

This episode made me miss my great grandma even though I met her one time i loved her with all my heart because I was never able to meet my grandma and grandpa from my dad's side of the family, I never got to say that I love her but I know she was surrounded by so much love from everyone . 😭💗
