I FINALLY FOUND IT...In a TINY RUN TOO!!! (NEW SPECIES ALERT)

  • In this EPF Episode, I explore a TINY Run in my County in hopes of finding a Species that I have been looking for a long, long time...!!!
    [September 5th, 2021 (Fishing Session Number 59)]
Lifelist Count: 319 (There was an extra "ghost Lifer" in my excel file due to the TITLES in the Excel being in ROW 1. Thus, I just did MINUS ONE to fix this mistake)
    Read more about it below:
    Did you know that...?
🤗...The search for the Redfin Pickerel has finally concluded!!! After 3 years of searching, I finally found it in this tiny run in Bucks County. There are many episodes on this TH-cam Channel related to this intricate search! Here is an example of one of them: • Exploring the Pine Bar...
🤗...The Redfin Pickerel (Esox americanus) is a sub-species of the American Pickerel. It inhabits the Northeastern portion of the United States of America. Its counterpart -- the Grass Pickerel -- inhabits the mid-western portion of the Country. The Redfin Pickerel's full scientific name is "Esox americanus americanus." The Grass Pickerel's full name is "Esox americanus vermiculatus."
🤗...The Redfin Pickerel is classified as "Least Concern" when it comes to its conservation status. The species is RARE around MY COUNTY; however, when it comes to its overall distribution, the overall population is still very stable nowadays. That's very likely due to the fact that (1) anglers don't usually target them, and (2) their habitats can be somehow hard to reach.

You are never boring! I'm glad to see you in little runs and places that not many people fish! Watching someone catch multiple species is so much more interesting than watching someone target and haul in one single species over and over, kinda watching NASCAR racing,"oh look ! Another left turn" lol.

That was a beautiful fish. And I *LOVE* when there are fish you never expect. Where I grew up there was a lake with a small dam and the water would run into a little stream in the woods and go for MILES until it trickled into a bigger body of water. There were some random holes here and there. Once after a really heavy rainfall my friends and I hiked through the woods and we'd pull up bass, sunfish, catfish, etc from there. And there would always be fish that would find their way down there (not really big, but big for the tiny stream). Some of the most fun I ever had fishing were in streams I could jump across.

loved this video, and thanks for the underwater releases recently! I caught my first and only Brook Trout in a tiny run like this in northern new jersey. i saw some darters in four inches of water that ran under a road, with one little pool, maybe two or three feet wide and only a couple inches deeper, in one side. Accidentally let my hook drop in there and the trout flew at it! spent the rest of the day on and off trying to catch the little dude. Good day.

6:50 they certainly are a rewarding species to find and land! My lifer took so much patience! Grabs the minnow… sits there. Drops it, readjusts it, sits there. One last adjustment, finally takes the bait😂 they remind me of gar when they do that😂
