I catch 20 inch mangrove snapper in the Corpus Christi bay front but my rig is just hook weight and live shrimp with fluorocarbon leader

We get a lot of small mangrove snapper in the SW canal near where I live, 1 mile from Mullock Creek, 5 inch - 9 inch fish. Do they spawn in the shallow water and then move out to deeper water later?

I’m confused. Looks like you are using a live bait hook. Being in a Florida I was under the impression that you are required to use circle hooks. Right or Wrong?

You are not required to use circle hooks , many ppl just prefer them

Nope clearly circle only with any natural bait has been that way for years.

Snagging a fish with a hook is illegal. That double hook rig is probably a grey area.
