@@dirkhartman9572 Hi . perhaps thats because the Greeks never got there hands on it, the bugger I was working on was a complete sod of a engine- we even had the German engineer out to it & he through his hands up in despair at it.

MaK= Musik aus Kiel.
Blindfolded, one might think it were an ALCo 251, possibly an inline-6, at idle.
Muito massa ver essa máquina em funcionamento
I was an assittant mechanic for MAK 453 C, AK, 601, 501, M32 v16 and some small MAK. But long time ago.
Gorgeous sound !
music to my aers
my 1st ship , the Oltman Rando had this main engine..
Each piece had to be engineered drawn and made from prints .Machined and fitted and it all works . Amazing!
I thought they were born this way, and grew a cylinder for every decade of its life
Cool sound!
thank you my friend!

Almost no sound of combustion at all. Just valve train clatter.

Exactly ! I sometimes put my head on the floor and just fell a sleep listening to this

Thank you my best brother
How many gallons per hour?
Yes
Normally about 200grams diesel an hour by one hp so at 80% about 130ltr/hr, very sober for engines from the 60's when everything was still solid...
