Same , won 10 one v ones in a row the other night . God I miss quake. started competitive multiplayer with doom 2 in 1995 right after graduating high school and jumped into quake one in 1996 . I mostly play 2042 and cod now and still lead the leaderboards in the majority of my matches at the young age of 46. Honestly, still playing at the same level when I was 19. Probably a little better because I’m more patient 😂

I'll never forget the day that I 6-1'd Fatal1ty 1v1 rail only, when I was only 14. I was literally grinding quake 3 almost like it was a day job. Holy cow does time fly by. These were the good 'ol days.

The only difference now is the advancements of mice and polling rates of 1KHz with LCD monitors that only a few years ago caught up to CRTs with refresh rates greater than 60Hz

This would only be best if you had played Quake. I started Quake in 1996. That is real nostalgia. I never got into Q3 or after, I played some Q2 and eventually into Q3 for a few month's and quit. I played many many notable people in quake from Deathrow, Unforgiven, Smurfs, and so on. I played the infamous Thresh in Q1/Q2 quite a few times. There are demo's with myself and him going at it in Q1 on DM6/DM2/DM4 and I think we did one on E2M1 or E1M1.

QL was and still is one of if not the best playable games ever. And its best and most even to compete. There is no other game FPS to compete on fair ground 1vs1 or TDM. Amen. Hail Quake! Hi Fatal1ty the oldschool quaker #1. back in early 2000's when at the top of your focus, would you say your reflexes were around 170ms or even closer to 150ms? with them 125hz+ monitors back then?

I dont have to work for money which gives TIME.. i remeber 1x playing with dignitas frantic in a 2on2 like 15 years back for fun.. games are fun as hell better than getting drunk in a pub. BUT your right people give UP instead of practise their butt off.
As we grow older, it becomes more important to maintain our reaction time and stuff, and arena shooters and racing games is by far my favorite forms of brain exercise 👍

Doing regular streams of this might single handedly bring back quake popularity. To this day nothing has surpassed quake 3, IMO.
