Part 1 - Parts for installing water temperature and oil pressure gauges on a R56 2009 Mini Cooper

  • Bought a gauge kit from CravenSpeed. Parts that came in the kit and other stuff I might need. Part 2 will be installing the sensors. Part 3 wiring up the gauges.

    i'm looking to do this on my own mini. can you provide a parts breakdown. i'm going through your video & trying to get similar

      That is probably a good idea. I got a kit on CravenSpeed.com that uses Marshall gauges but there are mixed reviews on those. There are probably more reliable gauges that may work better. What Cravenspeed does is not always the best method, such as the water temp location. It doesn't measure the water temp in the engine but in the hose between the radiator and engine so if your thermostat is not open, the temp may be off. The way they attach the oil pressure is fine because it is in the same location as the stock oil switch. Cravenspeed list the parts in their kit and also sell the parts individually so you can pick and choose the parts you need from them. It may be cheaper and better quality if you pick and choose the various parts. You basically need gauges, wiring, sensors, mount for the gauges, and a coupler between the new sensor to the engine where you are measuring.
