About the shift from non-renewable energy to human labour based energy, why is it beneficial to create more blue collar jobs? Isn't it better to focus on reducing the number of labour intensive jobs by automizing them, and allow people to work less and enjoy life more? Because with more free time and well-being, there is less demand for products and a higher rate of happiness. Can you follow my logic? (I missed a few steps out of lack of time)

Automization will benefit the society overall, but I highly doubt that happiness level will be higher due to inequality of the income that comes from automization. Rich gets richer. I also disagree with the point that there will be less demand for products. More free time = desire for more and different emotions --> increases the demand for products.

@@janiszvirgzdins8330 I see what you're saying. But how about this: more free time also means more time to spend with people, especially loved ones, thus decreasing the need to search for coping mechanisms by buying more stuff.

@@biancazeroway650 wouldn’t that increase unemployment rates ? Automation is good for the consumers but bad for the workers. But it also means creation of new products at lower costs hence more opportunities for labor markets. Automation uses more non renewable energy and capital than labor intensive products. I think we should try to decrease the labor cost per product through change of capital ownership and sharing of profits. But the problem is economies of scale. Either way automation or labor intensive products, profits are maximized when the output goes up. So encouraging consumerism is a must. If people spend more time leisurely without consuming market goods then the economy will go down. This is our current idea. Can we find an alternative to consumerism that would make both manufactures and consumers happy ?

@@pzan49 to make both happy maybe use- or result-oriented business models could help - more orientation to service itself related with one long-lasting product, but not buying-using-throwing way and buying new once.
