Its an accident video, so thats expected, of course. However, everytime I see a crane fully telescoped, I know its going to be bad. Now, Im no crane operator, but I've had family members in the business for four generations.... If these people would take the time to find out the weight of their load & compare that to their crane's capacity, they wouldn't tip over like the ones here. Plus when the operator can sense his crane is losing its footing, I never see them release the cable drum. Lose the load, _NOT_ the crane! 🤦
I’m no crane operator either, but I do operate excavators and there are some similarities… Main difference tho, I can save my ass in a tipping excavator as long as I’m competent in lifting. Once a crane starts tipping, especially fully telescoped, there’s usually no saving it
🎯 Exactly. There was a time when the cable brake was a common feature on hydrailic cranes. But no longer. Only on a rare conventional, such as a manitowic or a leibherr. Over extend the crane or overload it & its goodbye to crane _AND_ load Im not sure why the cable brake was removed. Maybe in the math of today's crane designers, its better to lose an operator with a crane than to lose potentially 20, maybe 50 men under a collapsing load, bc the operator chose to pull the cable brake? But even that doesnt make much sense, bc its a collapsed load with loss of lives either way. For cranes that cost $0.5 million, 2 million, 10 million or more, its hardly an issue of cost for a cable brake mechanism.... Probably too many cases of accidents caused by un-qualified men tampering with it, & the crane manufacturers having to face more grand-scale lawsuits
Beats me how these countries get anything done, constant accidents and Mangled Machinery. It must cost them millions. They don't seem to do well with Cranes though.

I would rather say, most of these failures are not machinery failures, but attributed to lack of maintenance and continous exceeding of the permissible towing capacities.
How about Hyunday, CAT, Mercedes and other brands shown in the videTheat a glance most of these accidents appear to be human error.. either at the design or the execution stage.

Respectfully Sir, a crane costing 462,000,000 rubles is not "a consumable item." Anyone saying that to the company owning that machine would be fired. Consumable items are food, motor oil, & filters If these amatuers would take the time to find out the weight of their load & compare that to their crane's capacity, they wouldn't tip over like the ones here. it must be standard percedure to order a crane with 50 tons less capacity than you actually need.if you need to lift 70 tons 50 stories.a 50 ton crane will work just fine.then it all comes crashing down.

The important part hopefully no one was injured or killed. It looks like most of these machines have been driven and worked past there limits.

I would think they would have a big red button that lets the spool go and drops the load.
The ground must be firm enough to hold the weight. For example, you never set your crane on a bridge like @4:05 👀
When they say "" Made in China "" then you know its not genuine

That's a lot of crane operators who don't seem familiar with the term 'load moment'.
