This was a great video and thanks for sharing. I've lived in the greater Toledo/Northwest Ohio area for the last almost 30 years. I've been to Maumee Bay State Park on many occasions, and it is a true gem. What I did not know was: Fleitz Pumpkin Farm. I always enjoy learning of new venues in my own back yard, so I appreciate you sharing that. I look forward to visiting Fleitz Pumpkin Farm this fall. If you visit again, I'll boat you out to the Toledo Harbor Light - which is the 'real' lighthouse of our area. The one in the video, is actually privately owned. Thanks again for sharing.
Good morning Brett! We are thrilled we were able to share about something new for you to experience in your own backyard 👏 It truly was a treat and we wouldn’t have known about it if our wonderful waitress hadn’t have shared! We always say talk to the locals 😀 We have a son who lives in Columbus so we find ourselves out that direction several times a year. Thank you so much for the amazing offer! See, who knew that was privately owned 😂 Gotta talk to the locals 👏 We will look forward to meeting you some day. Thank you for reaching out! ~ Rhonda and Stan
Our daughter lives in Toledo. We love Maumee Bay state park. We walk on the walk way may times. We will camp there this summer. Ohio is full a very great state parks.
We camp with our grands as much as we can, they love it,and so do we! We have to check out this state park, our son and family are 30minutes from there! Can’t wait, safe travels!
Hi Tammy! You will absolutely LOVE this place and so will the grands. The whole time all we could think about was how much fun we would have if we could meet our family there. Who knows. Maybe someday 🙏 Thanks for watching and for reaching out. ~ Rhonda and Stan
We have 9 grands. Five of them camp with us every summer for at least a week but usually two. We hike, play games, puzzles, ladderball, darts, kayak and swim for activities. We take a pizza oven and everyone makes their own pizzas it’s a favorite meal.
Four years ago, we bought a big 5th wheel. It has two bedrooms, a loft with a queen-sized bed, and a sofa that makes into a bed. We can sleep 7 comfortably. We have 5 grown children. Our youngest daughter turned 18 last June so she always went with us on weekends and trips. That will probably be different this summer. Our oldest daughter usually comes on weekends and stays a night with her two little girls, aged 5 and 3. The 5-year-old usually goes with us and will stay without her mother. Last fall we went to Custer State Park and had 4 of our children and our 2 grandchildren all there for a few days. It was a blast. It is why we got such a big RV. We, too, have had different modes of camping throughout the years. We started out with a tent, had a pop-up, a little travel trailer, an old motorhome, a big 4 room tent, an older 5th wheel, another bigger travel trailer, and now our 42 ft. 5th wheel. I think some of the best memories were made in the little travel trailer when our children were younger and we were, too. I hope your granddaughter will stay with you this time.
Our greatest memories were when we had our Class A we’d camp for years at the beach for two weeks then two weeks in Havasu. They are all grown but still talk about those memories. Thank you for sharing and joining us. Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
We also went camping with our kids. We had camping trips with our kids before they were a year old, in a tent!⛺️ after a few years we graduated to a pop-up. We now have a travel trailer. I’m happy to say that both our kids still like to camp and enjoy being outdoors.
Love this park ❤ my mom and dad had a truck camper and we would go camping there were five of us plus my mom and dad so it was pretty tight. We had a lot of fun and I still remember the trips!
I had to chuckle when, in the last video, you said you had a 6.5 hour travel day to drive through Michigan. You dud really well getting through at 8.5 hours. Ann Arbor is heavy traffic with it being a collage town and the the University of Michigan hospital there. But 23 is the safest way to come down the state and stay away from Detriot while towing. The state park there in Ohio is amazing we've driven through it but never have gotten back there to actually camp. I'll have to out them on the list for next year. Way to go in helping out the staff of Grace church!!! When it comes to the grand kids. I would have some travel ganes, coloring book and crayons or markers, or sidewalk chalk kids love that stuff. We've camped with our grandkids and those are some special memories!
Our grandkids love going camping with us. Last year we stayed at Disney Fort Wilderness and were the support unit. We took them back to the RV for lunch and naps. And also, gave our adult children time to do adult rides and also we let them have a Disney date night. Highly recommend going the 1st week of December so the kids and experience the decorations at rv site.
Bod and Dang, thank you! My dad taught us fishing from the pier in Seal Beach. Surprisingly there are a lot of folks that don’t know how to fish. See you at the opening ceremony. Thank you for joining us. Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
I have my 7 year old grandson every Tuesday and Thursday all summer and we take him every other weekend and a full week every year to a local campground. We had a 2970 RL and this will be our first year with a motorhome. He calls me Mommy-Nana because I have him so often he would call me mama and I had to remind him I’m his Nana so the mommy Nana stuck. 😂We bring a hammock and board games but when you’re camping, you don’t really need much. 😊
Hi Linda, what a blessing! Thank you for sharing your story with us. We love to read them! Thank you for joining us on this adventure. Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Our grand kids love dill pickles. We took pint mason jars and all the ingredients to make overnight refrigerator dill pickles. They thought that was the coolest thing ever. Along with the usual campfire and smores.
Well, that sounds fun! Thank you for the idea 💡 Our grandkids love them too and so do we 👏 We are looking forward to more adventures with the grandkids in the future. Thanks for watching and sharing. ~ Rhonda and Stan
Hi Karla, Maumee Bay State Park is a very close second and much closer. You will be shocked like we were. It was beautiful!! Thank you for joining us!! Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
Thanks for showing us the state park. We will put it on our list of if we are in the area. We have been to Falls Creek Falls, and really liked it as well.
This place looks great, I'm gonna put it on our must go to list, not to far for us we live in upstate NY, we take two of our grands with us at least 2 trips a season, they love it especially my 10 year old grandson, he loves to go bike riding on the trails.
Hello Cindy, this is a must place to visit. You will absolutely love it! Thank you for sharing. We raise our kids camping now we are working on the next generation. It is way better outside. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda❤️🙏🏼
What a fun video! I don't think I knew a turtle could be so cute! Great State Park, .. might have to look that one up for the future. And the pumpkin farm at the end, what a gem! I love donutes and would have most likely went for the Chocolate with Spinkles, and my husband definitely would have went for the maple...lol..
Hi Kori and Jack! Yes, who knew turtles were so cute?! We had to put that guy in the video 🐢It was fascinating to see under the water and watch him stretch out like that. Maumee State Park needs to be on your list 😄 Thanks for watching and sharing your donuts of choice 😂🫶 ~ Rhonda and Stan
Wow that’s a amazing state park. We don’t do a lot of them just because they are so hard to get a reservation at. Looks like we will have to try a day or two before and see if it works. Great video treasure hunt, donuts, beautiful park. Thanks From Wisconsin
Hello Bob and Cathy, the whole Michigan trip was not planned with no reservations. We were really surprised how crowded the campgrounds were when we got there. The cancellation system really work. Thank you for joining us! Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️
We just watched your Maumee bay Ohio video and realized that we were there at the same time as you were. And we left and went to Alum Creek SP. Maumee Bay SP is our all time favorite spot. Strange enough we just spent the winter in Lake Havasu City , AZ
Mike and Debbie, We just read this and can’t believe our paths didn’t cross somewhere along the way!! That’s just incredible! Great minds ! 😂 Well, let’s make sure they do next winter in Havasu 😃 We’re glad you will be back to enjoy the beautiful winter with us. ~ Rhonda and Stan
That’s awesome! Great organization like the Elks! We joined the Elks a few years ago and the nice thing is, they have RV camping all over the country. See you next winter! ~ Rhonda and Stan

P.S. I joined the Eagles Lodge while I was in Lake Havasu and are planning a return trip next winter.
