Everybody says rap killed rock music nowadays, but I think it's the crappy modern rap that's guilty of that. Because it also killed the rap we know and love.

Happy 20th Anniversary to one of hip-hop's most perfect albums. The beats, the lyrics, the delivery; they're all the best. I used to only know of this song from my childhood when the MV was played on TV, as well as "Great Expectations" being included on the Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX soundtrack. I didn't get my hands on this album until last year, and it feels like I've been missing out for so long, but it feels so good to get to listen to it at last.

I saw them at Zen festival. They were awesome. The microphones were going one by one in the end there were only two mics left. They make it work instead of bitching about it. One guy will throw the Mic up the next guy step in ash nd grab the mic and do his rhyme. Some of the artists these day would just walk out.
I was at that festival! A friend drug me away from the Happy Hardcore tent, and it was the first time I ever really listened to J5. I was blown away by the live show! I always wondered whether that mic passing was really due to technical difficulties or part of the show, because it fucking WORKED. I was so impressed!
This entire album was so Dope!!! I used to rock it in my disc man on blast everyday when it was released. I was in High school at the time high as shit and still high as shit!! ✌&💚 in 2020

It's melodic, the song has dynamics and flows, the lyrics are written by doods who have an obvious grasp of the English language and use it effectively to transmit ideas and feelings. If more groups had this type of intelligence I'd probably be a bigger convert to this genre.
