Part of the reason that Sky Train ticket was so expensive is that there is a $5 "fee" when you purchase passes at the YVR airport station.

You are right, I kind of forgot about that. I do know though that they raised their prices recently but not by much. ~Jay

So funny I came across your video while looking for videos on the Pan Pacific/Cruise Terminal experience in Vancouver. We're taking an Alaska cruise in September and we're flying up from SAN DIEGO! We are all veganesque (cheese and eggs occasionally find their way into our diet). Loved the video tour, thank you!

Drinking age in BC is 19, so you probably would have been fine.
It does not always rain in Vancouver. We have a dry season in summer, where there is basically no rain at all for about three months (forest fire season).

Very nice video, researching hotels for a cruise on the Wonder next year. What month were you at the Pan Pacific? Do you sign up for hotel membership on their website?

    Hi sweetie 💕.
Next time try what we did, stay across the water in North Vancouver.
You can go from the airport to SkyTrain to SeaBus to a North Van hotel.
It's *hundreds* of dollars cheaper than rooms in DT Vancouver.
The Lonsdale hotel has the Market down below on the ground floor - so many food choices, teas, coffees, and great, funky shops. Starbucks & McDs for breakfast. Boston Pizza and a drugstore less than a block away. The bus depot is right there. Plus there are so many great places to walk along the water.
On boarding day hop on the SeaBus for a fun trip across the water (and a great view of the ship), then walk through the bridge, and a short walk to the port.
As long as you're okay to walk a couple blocks with your luggage, it's pretty easy.

Wow that does sound like a great hotel! I'm also always looking for that budget stay lol. I bet the view from the sea bus was impeccable!

    Two things:
    1. Because Vancouver is coastal on west of the Cascade Mountain Range, it does rain more frequently than arid climates but it doesn't rain constantly AND it isn't always cold. It can get quite warm in the Summer. (Heck, I grew up in Lytton, 168 miles north of Vancouver and it's the hot spot of Canada, with a record high of 49.6°C or 121.3°F. on June 29, 2021; so much for the myth that Canada is always cold!)
    2. The legal drinking age is 19 in most of the Provinces of Canada British Columbia; 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.

My husband and I are cruising to Alaska on July 28th this year (my 70th birthday) but in my research, it was less expensive to stay at the Best Western Plus at the Airport, leave our SUV stored at the Hotel for $14/per day, (we'll be driving up from Utah two weeks earlier two spend time with my kids, grandkids and siblings before we cruise; the live in the nearby towns) and take the Shuttle train (the Canada Line; not the Sky Train) to the Waterfront Station. We'll enjoy luxury on the cruise. Besides, Best Western Plus is very nice but a good $250/night cheaper than the Pan Pacific Hotel.

If I ever do the Alaska cruise I think this hotel is on my list to stay. Just the convenience of getting to port and worry about traffic etc.

    • @GoodMorningAdventures

The hotel completely changes the game. We're dreading the thought of having to drive or get a shuttle for any of our future cruises.

I’ve done the Vancouver to San Diego three times, twice with my pre teen granddaughter, both times with her we’ve stayed at the Pan Pacific. Just the luggage transport on embarkation day is soooo worth it (did you know the hotel porter will take your luggage from your room and deliver it to the cruises luggage drop off? I get Canadian dollars at home to tip our taxi driver and hotel porters. This time we used the porter to take our luggage up to our room, too). It’s also close to the sky train station.
What kind of camera do you use for your vlogging?

    • @GoodMorningAdventures
      @GoodMorningAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +2

I didn't know they did that! It is such a great resource that they provide and will have to try it out next time! The camera I use is the Sony A7c. ~Jay

Unless you are a wheelchair user or otherwise mobility challenged- there is only one room (out of 503 rooms) that has a roll-in shower.
    Room 2108.
