he played on the Bulls with Jordan, the Lakers with Magic, the Pistons with Isaiah, and even the Sixers with Moses Malone but never at the right time to win a title
He is one of my favorite first in game dunkers who would put it on your head; then Dominique came along and took some of his shine, but Woodridge was still getting victims...
He was most def the high flyer before M J came to the bulls. He was one of my Favorite players Growing up very athletic and exciting to watch. Those days with him and MJ high flying will always be special to me being that I'm a life long bulls Fan. great video
What made it so impressive when J Rich did it imo was because by that time people hardly ever dunked with their off hand, (which is sadly is even more so the case nowadays), which made it so damn impressive to see a dude go between the legs and then throw it down with his left hand. Orlando was the originator of it though, no doubt! It's weird watching guys in the 80's and 90's dunk, youd see off-handed dunks all over the place back then, miss that era man!
I played AAU basketball for the AZ Soul with his son, Royce Woolridge, for 5 years. I actually got to meet Orlando at a tournament before he died. Based on the fact that Daddy Woolridge never played in AZ & was playing on the East Coast in 1992 when Royce was born... I came to the conclusion that Royce's mom must have been the 90's version of Brittany Renner; however, she was a really nice lady & Royce was a legit baller that actually signed with Kansas out of highschool. Unfortunately, he didn't get much burn because the Morris twins were also on the Jayhawks at that time.
Nice to see Orlando getting some love , as a kid he was one of my fav players from college to his pro career starting with the Bulls. I recall a scene in the movie "To Live and Die in LA" when Will Peterson mentions Woolridge and Jordan and at the time it blew my mind. nice piece and thanks
How about Allan Houston at some point? He was supposed to be something else and also got a monster contract from the Knicks but somehow injuries just ruined pretty much everything. At his best he was a lethal sniper! His career was an interesting one and spanned Detroit after the Bad Boys and before the success of mid 2000s and he was also a vital part of the contending Knicks which reached even the finals... Sean Elliott could also be another interesting one. A 'franchise player' for the Spurs who does not get enough credit even though he was a vital small forward and option behind Robinson and later behind Duncan. The 90s Spurs would not have been the same without him.
As a kid I loved Orlando Wooldridge, because he was that type of player the kids gravitated to🦾🏀😎 as a kid this man shined as a human being 🎉👑and had heroic demeanor about him 🏀
I'm 10 years old and the family is naming their favorite Lakers players, I go Orlando Woolridge and my brother kept ribbing me the whole night, basically trying to change my choice to Magic. Not that I want to bring this type of drama in but he never respected anything that came out of my mouth until I basically told him to stay out of my life entirely but because of more than this. When I was 10 and seeing Woolridge alley oop every night they played that to me was cool to see so F U!
Do Michael Cooper, Bill Cartwright, Larry Nance or Lance, John Williams, Kenny "Sky" Walker, Sleepy Floyd, B.J. Armstrong, Craig Echlo, Alphonso Ellis, Terry Porter, Reggie Lewis, Brian Williams, Antwan Carr, Marc Eaton, Terry Cummings, Sam Perkins.
Great career retrospective, you do them very well always felt for Woolridge getting pushed out of the Bulls by Jordan coming along as he’s game was exciting.
RIP, Orlando Woolridge. High flyer. Great scorer who didn't need the ball to score, by the way. Shot well from the field most of his career. Had a couple of years where he probably should've been an All-Star, but didn't get voted in. Either he was a second banana or was on horrible teams when he got snubbed. He wasn't a big ego guy, either. He knew how to adjust from carrying the load, to being a complimentary piece. Most guys can't do that.
a couple of players from the Bulls title teams can be traced to him, the pick they got from the Nets was used on Stacey King who was on the first three title teams and was dealt for Luc Longley from the second three peat
@@baconeggcheesepodcast9390 Scptt Wedman won 2 championship with the Celtics in 1984 and 1986. He was coming off the bench to give Danny Ainge or DJ a break. Same with Henderson. He won 1 championship with the Celtics and was dealt to other team to draft Len Bias. Kevin Gamble was the starting PG during Bird's last years with the Cs. Rick Robey was a Boston Center who won 1 ring in 1981.
His attitude was his biggest problem his ego if he couldve played with Jordan share the spot or even be number 2 he couldve been the Pippen spot wouldve been his and the bulls may have been even better
If they had teamed up him with Jordan who knows could he have been Jordans Pippen ? Like Knicks they had Patrick and didnt play him and Bill together no trade Bill to the BULLS good move NOT! but some so called great coaches must not have heard of super team look at CELTICS , LAKERS , SIXERS makes you think i think he & Jordan and build around them and win , and they had Gilmore at center sign or draft a SF & PF
Thanks for giving Orlando his flowers because a lot of people don't know anything about him Rest in Peace Orlando 🏀 #00

He was the first I saw so the between the legs dunk with the left hand, Before JR rider, Kobe, Vince etc. Orlando was a good solid scorer
Yeah I just learned about him today
he played on the Bulls with Jordan, the Lakers with Magic, the Pistons with Isaiah, and even the Sixers with Moses Malone but never at the right time to win a title
Lol damn that's depressing
He is one of my favorite first in game dunkers who would put it on your head; then Dominique came along and took some of his shine, but Woodridge was still getting victims...
Do Tom Gugliotta next!!! he was really good but injuries shortened his career.
googs
Traded for Chris Webber. That's how good Tom G was
@@Teddy42O googs was the predecessor to the modern stretch 4 for reals
@@Teddy42O I agree 100%. A perfect PF in today's era. He would be a perennial All Star in today's weak NBA
And if Googs doesn't get injured by his own teammate, we don't get Vince Carter over Weis.

RiP Orlando Woolridge
I love how the first between the legs dunk was inverted and when J Rich did that everybody was like....damn we have never seen that before

Sean Elliott. Franchise player?? You do mean for the Arizona Wildcats right?!?! That PUSHY was traded to the Pistons, what did he do there?? Nothing
Houston isn't forgotten at all.
RIP Orlando Woolridge. Definitely was a beast in his prime.

Rik Smits! He was another great one too so under appreciated
Robert Horry deserves a video. Arguably the most clutch NBA player of all time
Please do one on Derek Anderson next!! Best channel out!
Or former Denver Nugget/ Bullet Micheal Adams !!!

You should do Latrell sprewell Jeff Malone Kevin McHale Dennis Johnson and also Shawn Kemp
Wow. Great info.
That was 2023 defense on Ainge's game-winning layup. 🤣
Sholl right...😂😂😂
After Danny Ainge went coast to coast on Notre Dame that's when the tournament was nicknamed March Madness. True Story
I always thought he was closer to 7 foot… anyways a good blast from the past for sure…!
Nice One I remember this guy yea yaya ;D

You should feature Tom Chambers
1 of my favs! I h8d how it went downhill 4 him in Chicago after they drafted Jordan. He wuz dope! May Allah (swt) rest the dead.
If Shannon Sharpe was a Hooper!!😁😁💯🏳
Great player
Orlando Woolridge is Jalen Duren's grandfather? Lol
Always liked Woolridge. Surprised that he never made an All-Star team
Holy shit!! 107 first half points. Make 1st half points of today's game comical.
One of my absolute and underrated players, Eddie Jones pls. Pls make a piece of him. 👍 Thanks im advance
A Larry Kenyon video would be nice to see
Did you do Kiki van???
Not yet, but I see he's highly requested, so gonna try to get to him soon
Another underrated player u could do is Clifford/cliff robinson man he was so good on the blazers
I know he didn't have a legendary career but he was a true inspiration to Turkish basketball players can you cover Mehmet Okur's career someday
Bernard King?

Orlando Woolridge: Ball-Handling: B. Passing: D. He's not in the game to pass the ball. Defense: D. Intangibles: B. Likeable.
May Peace Be Upon Him
woolridge avg 23 ppg on 55% shooting jordan's rookie season. ad is averaging 24 ppg on 55% right now.
With today's training methods and diet he is one of MAYBE 10 old school guys who could stand up to GIANNIS
rip orlando Woolridge
Sad that he's too early for the bulls and too late for Lakers and Detroit..
RIP
Daryl dawkins david thompson?
Plus next Richard Jefferson all-star caliber plalyer
Need more highlights and less stats graphics
The Bulls should have kept him, Scottie could have covered up his bad defense
I’m really disappointed in you @forgotten players
I had to go find Orlando myself. Rip the first freak📸❤️🤞🏽
I knew it he was apart of that cocain 🤡 show team in Chicago mike was talking about....
Kinda destroys the myth when Jordan joined the bulls they had no one.
Bulls were at the bottom of the NBA before MJ. Woolridge had his best season with MJ. They only play one year together
His attitude was his biggest problem his ego if he couldve played with Jordan share the spot or even be number 2 he couldve been the Pippen spot wouldve been his and the bulls may have been even better
And your ChiCOKEgo Bulls
i swear you must be a 50yo man based on the players you profile
