Use hair spray , it's the best Not greasy, and the balloons will shine, actually it has smooth distribution, especially the chrome balloons that are sometimes hard to shine without looking grease, at least this is my experience It could be regular hair spray or ultra spray and it's not soooo expensive Thank you for sharing Jacky's Balloons from Puerto Rico

I use Hi-Shine and love the way my balloons look afterward. I do however agree that the product is very greasy and I would suggest avoid spraying it on tile/wood floors as it can become very slippery

Outdoors would definitely be easier, then you don't have to worry about getting anything on the floor!

we have never re-used the balloons. the time that you spend removing air from them will cost more than new bag of balloons.

How do you get the floor from becoming slippery?
To properly test tire shine it needs to be put in a fine mist bottle. Many dilute with water because it is so thick.

I use tyre shine then gently rub with soft cloth. Never had a problem

For us it's not worth the effort to reuse balloons, but it is possible.

You can definitely make a garland with mylar balloons! It will just be a little less flexible than the latex.
