The crew does a good job of not getting into spoilers, but if you've avoided watching the trailers in any great depth, maybe skip around the discussion of powers a bit since they do get into some details there, but only for things seen in the trailers. So glad this is reviewing well. Hope these guys make so much damn money.
Glad we’re getting a high budget 3D platformer again. And I agree the mario games have a lot more complex movement and freedom to the actual platforming, so I’d still prefer them over Astro. But it’s rare to have games that come this close in the overall package.
The thing Mario has that Astro Bot doesn't is the kinetic movement, It feels amazing to move mario, you feel endlessly connected to the character and can get him to do anything with the right dexterity.
@@JMGauthier Odyssey has actually been the only time I was disappointed in a 3D Mario game. It has elements I really like. The 2D integration. Costumes. And some cool moments. But it just never gave me the feeling other 3D Mario games did.
Why are people trying to downplay the other game PS has made over the years, like this is the first hit they have had or that the other games didn't help make the brand as big as it is today.
IF Astro Bot were a Nintendo, first-party game, the "Nintendo Bump" / Reviewer Bias would have pushed all the 9/10 scores to perfect 10/10. This would have been the highest rated Nintendo game of all time. Fact.
Still insane that when Grubb saw the first Astro Bot trailer he said he got big Balan Wonderworld vibes
Poor guy was so traumatized
Oh, I don't like it when you do this to me.
I do kinda feel like im building the iconic "Tower o' Tims" when i return the bots in Astrobot

"Games don't have to be fun... but they're a lot more fun when they are!"
Dan, diet soda and regular soda taste almost nothing alike in ANY instance lol
The only instance that it's even close (for me at least)is with Dr. Pepper and even then it's still very noticeable
@@kibbleeater1 Yeah diet Dr. Pepper has a hint of the essence of what regular Dr. Pepper is going for, but it is very gross lol
Only complaint so far is the camera rotation speed is unbearably slow.
Seems fine to me.

Touch the pyramid of balls
Both Galaxy games are better than Odyssey.
I disagree. I love them all but the open endedness of Odyssey is much preferred to the more linear nature of Galaxies.

the movement in Galaxy is sluggish, feels like running through mud.
@@markrolle2527 it's space...lol
@@ThePalmer81I still love 64
Just got to the mouse power up I think this might be the best game of all time
Need timestamp guy to tell me when they start talking about astrobot
We must become the change we want to see

@@wgo523 Thank you!
My only criticisms about Astro Bot is that it's too easy to beat and not long enough. Mario games have much more depth.
Too easy? Check out Mr expert at the hard levels.

Fact.
It has a 95 on Open Critic...
Hopefully this is another touchstone.
Elden Ring showed the industry that games can be hard. Astro Bot shows the industry that games can be fun.
